Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson Tie the Knot

Congrats to the new Hollywood couple!

Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have officially tied the knot on Saturday in Vancouver, Canada, after having announced their engagement four months ago.

The two Hollywood actors who have been dating since February 2007, according to Us Magazine, wed at a remote wilderness resort just outside the city.

Reynolds, 31 and a native of Vancouver, is most notably known for his roles in films such as “Van Wilder,” “Blade Trinity,” “The Amityville Horror,” and will be seen in upcoming movies such as “Fireflies in the Garden,” “Adventureland,” and “X-Men:Origins.”

Johansson, 23, is well known for her performances in “Lost in Translation,” “Girl with a Pearl Earing,” and will be seen in her upcoming films, “The Spirit” and “He’s Just Not That into You.”

Few details are available, but guests reportedly included Scarlett’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother Adrian Johansson.

Ryan Too Jealous Over Scarlett’s Leading Men?

The National Enquirer reports that Ryan Reynold’s jealous streak may be a threat to his engagement to Scarlett Johansson.

Reynolds is said to be insecure about the good-looking men Johansson works with. “He almost drove Scarlett away,” a source told The Enquirer. “Now that she is marrying him, she told him in no uncertain terms to quit being jealous – after all, he’s the one who is shattering many men’s dreams of getting sexy Scarlett down the aisle. But it drives him crazy when other guys flirt with her.”

Johansson just filmed a movie with Orlando Bloom and Ethan Hawke.

Scarlett’s Head Too Big For Cannes

Now that she’s engaged to Canadian hunk Ryan Gosling, Scarlett Johansson may be becoming too big for her britches.

Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reports that Johansson was absent from the premier of her new Woody Allen film at Cannes because the studio refused to meet her ridiculous demands.

She insisted that her $7,800-a-day make-up artist be paid to accompany her. She also refused to stay at the same hotel where Allen and co-star Penelope Cruz were staying, instead saying she required a hotel 30 miles outside of Cannes.

An executive close to the film said that “it wasn’t acceptable that Scarlett would be having to come in from that distance every day, most likely turning up late and it would have thrown schedules into a lot of confusion.”

Allen, normally quite enamoured with Johansson, is said to be annoyed that she’s not being a team player.

Johansson’s rep blamed conflicting schedules for Johansson’s absence.

The film, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” which features a kiss between Johansson and Cruz, received a ten-minute standing ovation at the festival.

Ryan and Scarlett Announce Engagement

Canadian heartthrob Ryan Reynolds is off the market again. He and girlfriend of more than a year, Scarlett Johansson, have announced that they are engaged.

Reports of their engagement began circulating in January. But they did not confirm their “recent” engagement until yesterday with People magazine – and it just so happens that Johansson’s debut album was released today.

Of their engagement, Johansson’s rep told People that the lovebirds are “both thrilled.”

Reynolds, 31, will next appear in a film called, “The Proposal” – something that he is now a seasoned verteran at. Reynolds never made it down the aisle when he was engaged to singer Alanis Morissette.

Movie Review: Definitely, Maybe

In his latest attempt at becoming a full-fledged star, Ryan Reynolds almost succeeds.

The film, “Definitely, Maybe,” opens today (Valentine’s Day) on the premise it is a romance. And to a certain degree it is.

It is actually a four-part love story as we join Will (Reynolds), who is telling his daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), how he met her mother. The catch is his story involves three women, and she will have to guess which one her mother is.

The first woman in Will’s life when we go back to 1992 is his college sweetheart, Emily (Elizabeth Banks). The two decide to do a long distance romance when he moves for a couple months from Wisconsin to New York to work on Bill Clinton’s campaign for president. It is in New York he meets April (Isla Fisher) and Summer (Rachel Weisz). Will floats between the three women as the audience, and Maya, listens intently.

The idea of the film is interesting, and does keep you guessing as to who Maya’s mother really is. Reynolds actually does not too bad in a leading role of a romantic comedy, as opposed to the action and screwball comedies he is known for.

The film has some interesting inside jokes as it goes back to the early ’90s (introducing Will to Nirvana for one). Another cute tough, though hard to know if it was intentional, was the use of “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow” during a segment when Clinton was running for the Democratic party nomination, as I believe that was the actual song he used.

The film is an unusual romantic comedy, but it still uses the clichéd romantic-comedy bits that all films like it have. Fisher was great – and easily broke away from her character in “Wedding Crashers.” She was so talented that at first glance, one could almost mistake her for the other redhead burning up the movie scene right now – Amy Adams.

Weisz was an interesting choice – a very different step from the films she is usually in. She pulls off the American accent well though (her character also intertwines with a character hilariously played by Kevin Kline, though it is hard to recognize him at first).

All in all, the film has its moments, and does warm your heart. And that may be the sweetest part of this film. Because while you may go in knowing you are supposed to feel certain ways at certain points, instead of resisting it, you allow the film to take you there. And while the thought of Reynolds as a leading man may be a little bit scary, he pulls it off surprisingly well.

It may not be your typical Valentine’s Day film, but it’s still worth seeing; if only for the nostalgia of the early ’90s.

Ryan and Scarlett Engaged?

Canadian heartthrob Ryan Reynolds previously called off his engagement to Alanis Morissette. So could he really be ready to take the plunge with his newest flame?

The New York Daily News is reporting that Reynolds has popped the question to Scarlett Johansson. Though Johansson’s rep denied the rumour, the paper’s source indicated that the public could expect an official announcement soon.

Reynolds and Johansson have been dating for just under a year. In comparison, Reynolds and Morissette dated for two years before their engagement, which they called off two years later.

Fittingly, one of Reynolds’ upcoming films is entitled, “The Proposal,” which will co-star Sandra Bullock.

Reynolds is 31 and Johansson is 23.

Scarlett’s Toothy Treat for Ryan

Scarlett Johansson reportedly gave boyfriend Ryan Reynolds a jaw-dropping birthday gift.

Rumours have been swirling that that Johansson presented Reynolds with her gold-plated wisdom tooth to commemorate the actor’s 31st birthday.

A source reports to E! News that Scarlett had her recently removed wisdom tooth dipped in gold and made into a necklace for the Canadian heartthrob.

The present was allegedly an early birthday gift given to Reynolds at the Chateau Marmont over dinner.

Ryan Reynolds Joins ‘Adventureland’

Ryan Reynolds will play an aspiring rock star in Superbad director Greg Mottola’s newest film, Adventureland.

The coming-of-age comedy, also written by Mottola, will star Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale) as a recent college graduate in 1987 who has no choice but to work at a local amusement park. The uptight Eisenberg will learn to loosen up with the help of his love interest (Kristen Stewart, In The Land of Women) and Reynolds’ character, who is worshipped by all the kids at the park.

Reynolds is currently dating Hollywood darling Scarlett Johansson. Though the couple has not confirmed their status, they caused a tabloid frenzy last week when they were photographed walking hand in hand at LAX. They were returning from Vancouver, where Johansson was reportedly introduced to Reynolds’ family.

Reynolds was previously engaged to fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette.
