‘Air Farce’ Tapes Final Show With Special Guests
“Royal Canadian Air Farce” taped their final show in Toronto last week with the help of a few special guests.
Ron McLean, host of “Hockey Night in Canada,” was on hand to fire off the famous chicken cannon for the episode airing New Year’s Eve.
McLean had been covering a game in Montreal the night before and rerouted his flight schedule so he could fly through the snowstorm for the taping.
For his cameo, CBC anchor Peter Mansbridge donned a slicker and joined cast members Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson for a Maritime News report.
And “Farce” veteran Dave Broadfoot will return for one last skit set at the doughnut shop.
The show is signing off after a 16-year run on CBC Television, which was preceded by two decades on CBC Radio.
The “Air Farce Final Flight New Year’s Eve Special” airs on Wednesday, Dec. 31 on CBC-TV.
