98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons Keeps Chippendales Job

So what do you do after your boy band days comes to an end? You become a Chippendales dancer of course – at least according to former 98 Degrees star Jeff Timmons.

PopEater reports that Jeff has actually extended his gig two times. Initially the job was supposed to end on June 5, and then it was pushed to June 19. However Jeff will continue dancing throughout the summer at the Rio hotel in Las Vegas.

With the music business in turmoil and royalty checks not being what they used to, musicians are having to find new ways to make a buck. Good on Jeff for being so “creative.”

Madonna Spending Valentine’s Day in Rio

Madonna will be flying to Rio, the hometown of boyfriend Jesus Luz next weekend for the Samba Parade and Valentine’s Day, reports Perez Hilton.

She is the guest of Governor Sergio Cabral, and will watch the parade from his private box.

Duran Duran Reworks ‘Rio’ For Mark Ronson

Duran Duran have recorded a “new” version of their 1982 hit “Rio” in tribute to British uber-producer Mark Ronson.

Ronson, who is collaborating with the veteran band on their upcoming album, appeared on BBC Radio 1′s “Zane Lowe Show” last week with the updated track, which now includes lines like: “His name is Ronson and he mixes with both hands” and “When he cuts he really shows you all he can.”

Ronson also spoke to the DJ about working on Duran Duran’s new album, the follow-up to 2007′s “Red Carpet Massacre.”

“I loved the first four albums – some of my favourite records of all time – and I think it sounds like that,” the producer said. “The stuff we’ve been recording so far is nice. Nick [Hodgson] from the Kaiser Chiefs came on and wrote a couple of songs, and it sounds good.”

The band, which formed in Birmingham, England in 1978, will play one date in Russia in June and have a handful of other shows confirmed for the U.S. and the U.K. in July.
