In between livin’ la vida loca’ and shaking his bon-bon, Ricky Martin has fathered twin boys.
“The children, delivered via surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care,” said Martin’s rep in an official statement today. His rep also confirmed the twin boys were delivered several weeks ago.
“Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children.”
The names of the twins as well as the identity of the mother are unknown.
Pop star RICKY MARTIN is urging gay stars to stop hiding their sexuality – and celebrate it.
The singer, who has often been the subject of gossip linked to his sexuality, has applauded Mexican pin-up CHRISTIAN CHAVEZ for ‘coming out of the closet’ recently – and insists all gay stars should feel good about telling fans the truth.
He says, “Life is too short to live closed up, guarding what you say.”

Latin pop star RICKY MARTIN has been crowned king of the forthcoming 50th annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City.
Parade organizers have honoured the LIVIN’ LA VIDA LOCA singer for his international success and charity work for children.
Parade Committee President MADELYN LUGO says, “He has always expressed his pride as a Puerto Rican and a Latino.
“He has served as one of our greatest ambassadors, and we can’t think of a better role model to honour as the King of the Parade.”
Martin is the first ‘king’ of the parade, which takes place in June. Other honorees have been named ‘grand marshal’ or ‘godfather.’
The 35-year-old singer says,”I am honoured and very humbly accept the invitation to participate in the 50th anniversary of the national Puerto Rican parade.”

Singer RICKY MARTIN shocked fans at a recent concert in Puerto Rico by singing about US President GEORGE W BUSH and then giving him the finger.
The 35-year-old sang and danced with Bush at the 2001 Inaugural Ball, but has apparently has changed his opinion about the President.
According to the Huffington Post, at a recent stop on his Black and White tour at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, he shared his sentiments with the crowd.
According to the website, “In the song ASIGNATURA PENDIENTE, there is a line in the lyrics that goes, ‘A photo with Bush.’
“As he said this, Ricky gave him the ‘F-you’ treatment and the crowd of 18,000 fans went crazy and cheered.”

Expect a much different sound when Ricky Martin releases a new album, expected in October.
His first single off the album, still untitled, will be “I Don’t Care,” produced by hip-hop producer Scott Storch and featuring Fat Joe and Amerie.
The song is available on his web site.
Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas will produce a track, according to Billboard.
It will be his first English album in five years.
