‘Dazed And Confused’ Sequel In The Works

Dazed and ConfusedSixteen years after “Dazed and Confused” put Matthew McConaughey on the map as the stoner-sage David Wooderson and became the gold standard of high school nostalgia comedies, writer-director Richard Linklater has written a “spritual sequel,” reports ew.com. 

The story follows a group of lost boys and girls during their first weekend of college in 1980. The untitled project isn’t literally spiritual or a sequel, strictly speaking — sadly, none of the characters from the first movie will be featured in this one. But, like “Dazed,” it attempts to capture an iconic and infinitely confusing moment in a person’s life by following an ensemble of different characters through a short period of time. Much of the action takes place among the members of a college baseball team.

‘Rock School 2′ Confirmed

“Rock School” is officially back in session.

Variety has confirmed that a sequel is in production for the Jack Black flick. Black will resume his role, this time taking his summer school group on a trip to discover the roots of rock ‘n’ roll.

Richard Linklater and Mike White will be back as well, as director and writer, respectively.

White has already finished the script, as he claimed last month that writing it made him weep. At a screenwriting panel, he said, “”I actually just completed a draft of what’s potentially the sequel [to School of Rock], and I’m still, like, crying as I’m writing the script. I try to come at it from a personal place…”
