UPDATE: Adam Lambert Addresses Queen Rumours

Adam Lambert, the flamboyant American Idol alum, was rumoured to be joining Queen for a performance at the Sonisphere Fest in July followed by a string of tour dates.

As we reported yesterday, Lambert gloated to the Daily Mail: ”The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f***ing great songs,” he allegedly said. “It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”

Lambert then took to his Twitter to dismiss the rumours on Friday evening:

“Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context…. I haven’t confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA’S,” he tweeted, without directly referencing the report. “That being said, I’m truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! ”

They had all performed together at the 2009 American Idol finals as well as a November gig at the MTV EMAs.

Lambert’s sophomore album Trespassing is due in March.

The Original Aunt Viv on ‘Fresh Prince’ Hates Will Smith

So why wasn’t Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Viv on “Fresh Prince,” at the recent cast reunion? Well she and Will Smith hate each other, and there has been tension ever since she left the show in 1993.

“There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith,” Hubert told TMZ.

She adds, “He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”

Smith told an Atlanta radio station, “[Hubert] said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the AntiChrist.”

Nevertheless, we feel strongly that Janet Hubert was the better Aunt Viv. Daphne Maxwell Reid, who replaced Janet as Aunt Viv, could never hold up to Janet.

O-Town’s ‘Liquid Dreams’ Are Coming Back

Pop band O-Town are back together and recording some new tracks. Four of the five guys are back, and they were spotted leaving a LA studio together, reports TooFab.

The pop band was created from the ABC show Making The Band, and 11 years later the guys are back. The group is composed of Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, Dan Miller and Erik-Michael Estrada. Ashley Parker Angel left the band and has not rejoined.

A source told TooFab the new songs are “coming great” and they hope to have an album out by the end of the year.

The question remains if they will be able to top their #1 hit “Liquid Dreams.” Remember that track?

Gwen Stefani Says Solo Career Is Over, Focuses On ‘No Doubt’ Album

Gwen Stefani says her solo career is over, reports Entertainment Weekly.

After two successful solo albums, 2004′s ‘L.A.M.B’ and 2006′s ‘The Sweet Escape,’ Stefani says she is done being a solo singer.

“That was a moment in time,” Stefani says. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … [But] everything works out how it should.”

Stefani now claims that she is focusing all her time on a new ‘No Doubt’ album, which fans are eagerly anticipating. It’s been nearly 10 years since the band released an album, and two years since they reunited for a summer tour.

The band is responsible for such hits as ‘It’s My Life,’ ‘Hella Good,’ and ‘Hey Baby.’

With nine kids onboard between the band and a totally changed music scene, I’m sure we can expect a totally different sound from the band. I’m very, very excited for this reunion, they’ve been a favourite of mine for as long as I can remember.

Ashley Parker-Angel Won’t Rejoin O-Town

O-Town has a very special significance to us here at andPOP as it was the first major interview we ever conducted. So the idea that O-Town could be reuniting is exciting, however it apparently won’t be the complete O-Town package.

Ashley Parker-Angel was “intrigued” by the idea, but ultimately declined. In a statement to TMZ, Ashley explains, “O-Town was one of the greatest chapters of my life, so when the idea of a reunion was brought to me, of course I was intrigued.”

He continues, “However I have made the decision not to be a part of an O-Town reunion. It was a difficult decision, but ultimately necessary to move on with the next chapter of my career.”

Nevertheless the rest of the band will be getting back together and hitting the road for a tour. We hope to schedule another interview when they roll through Toronto.

Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin Reuniting on ‘Dancing With The Stars?’

Could it be? A Kate and Jon Gosselin reunion on “Dancing With The Stars?” Well not quite.

It’s no secret that Kate Gosselin has had some problems with her dance partner Tony Dovolani on and off the stage during “Dancing With The Stars.” However the two have come up with a Jon and Kate themed dance for next week.

According to E! Online, Tony will be channeling his inner Jon Gosselin and Kate will be portraying herself.

“It’s my story over the past two of years,” Kate tells E! Online. “We’re very, very excited.”

And there’s only one word to describe such a dance.

“Dramatic,” says Kate, to which Tony replies, “Lots of drama,” to which Kate adds a little more emphasis with an, “Oh my gosh, so much drama.”

Is Soundgarden Coming Back?

Yes it appears they are. For all of the fans out there who have missed these grunge rockers, your life is about to have meaning again. Chris Cornell confirmed through Twitter that the boys are back!

“The 12-year break is over and school is back in session,” Cornell wrote. “Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!”

Billboard is also reporting that the band is currently entertaining a variety of offers to play some festivals in the coming year. So chances are if you live in North America, you will be able to see the boys live.

LFO Reunite For New York Show

Boy band LFO – perhaps best known for a ’90s hit referencing New Kids on the Block and “girls that wear Abercrombie & Fitch” – are pulling their own NKOTB-esque move with a reunion show this summer.

The group, which went on indefinite hiatus in 2003, will play the one-off gig at New York’s Highline Ballroom on July 18.

Supporting acts for the show are Rookie Of The Year, Go Crash Audio and Kiernan McMullan.

Tickets go on sale at Thursday and are priced at $35. Fans can also opt for VIP tickets, which includes a “meet and greet” as well as backstage and sound check access.

LFO – otherwise known as Lyte Funky Ones – reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999 with the aforementioned “Summer Girls.”

The group went on to have a couple of more radio hits including “Girl on TV” and “Every Other Time” before going their separate ways.

SCTV Alums Reunite for a Cause

Canadian comedy fans had better do some crunches to prepare for some serious laughs.

“SCTV” alums Catherine O’Hara, Andrea Martin, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty, Martin Short and Harold Ramis, are performing for a second time tonight at the Second City Theatre in Toronto.

According to the CBC, the reunion is part of the Benefit of Laughter, a fundraiser for Second City’s staff members who need help financially.

Combining some classic sketches and improv sets, the reunion could become an annual event if it is successful.
