Need some superhero-sized motivation? Then look no further. Mike Helm’s newest remix takes clips from all three of the hugely successful Iron Man films to create a KILLER song that would be perfect for feeling unstoppable while running, boxing, lifting weights…any sort of intense physical activity (which for me these days is getting out of bed). No matter what you need to get pumped up for, this is definitely worth the listen.
Reading Rainbow finally got its very own auto-tune remix by John D. Boswell (melodysheep) for PBS Digital Studios and it will fill you with old fashioned 80s wonder. Much like this:

Boswell is the musician and producer behind the remix series Symphony of Science. If you’d like to support your local PBS station, find more information here.

Once in a while a remix comes along that shakes YouTube so hard that the demand for a ten hour loop becomes inevitable. Razaltin remixed a clip about bacon pancakes from Adventure Time with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “New York.”
You’ll probably want to listen to the mashup for eternity, or at least all day at school while you’re pretending to listen to your teacher drone on about the Great Depression. It’ll get to the point where your teacher will ask you “What caused the Wall Street Crash of 1929?” and you’ll just say “Bacon pancakes, bacon bacon pancakes.” (Source)

I thought we were done with these mashups? Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has become one of THOSE songs. You know, one of those songs that must not be named and that plays on the same playlist as “Call Me Maybe” and “Macarena.” The type of song that comes on and 80-year-olds are like “What is that diddy?” while the hip young-ins sit down and roll their eyes.
The only redeeming factor is that the mashup is with the theme for Ghostbusters. So yes, I’ll listen to it. It’s actually the perfect tune for Halloween.
President Barack Obama is well known for his remixes, which includes Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” and LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It.” Now he’s taking on Jay-Z’s classic hit “99 Problems.”
Whereas Jay-Z has 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one, Obama has 99 problems but Mitt’s not one. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney also makes a cameo, spewing out a few lines in the role of “the police officer” (it’s a bit role, really). We really wish there was a radio version.

You wouldn’t think the two songs would complement each other, but this mashup featuring Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and Kanye West’s “Homecoming” (ft. Coldplay’s Chris Martin) is addictive. I love the chripy beat of Swift’s pop song mixed with the edgier rap lyrics by Kanye West.
While we know a collaboration would probably never happen (can Taylor forget the past?) we sure as hell wish it would. ”We Are Never Ever Coming Home Again” was mashed together by NOxPETSxALLOWED, who has previously done mashup battles between Drake and T-Swift, and Rihanna and Skrillex.
Speaking of Taylor Swift, The Handsome Hanson Brothers did their own acoustic rendition of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” for Fifi and Jules radio show in Australia. Check it out after the jump.

Remember the insane amount of parodies/covers that came out every damn day of Carly Rae Jepsen’s infectious summer hit “Call Me Maybe?” When Psy’s “Gangnam Style” went viral I knew I was doomed to writing about the covers and parodies for at least two months. Not that I don’t like writing about them, but I can assure that if you watch too many you WILL start doing the horse-riding dance in inappropriate situations.
I was pretty sure that if someone combined the two songs (which was only a matter of time) the world would cease to exist. But here we are, safe in our offices listening to Carly Rae Jepsen vs Psy “Call Me Gangnam” by xaeroseven (aka Michael Simmons). And its actually pretty good.

Listen up people. While it’s good to set your heart on something, if you chase it too hard it just won’t happen. Take it from this bunny who has his eyes set on an airy pink balloon. Unfortunately he pursues it too adamantly and it rejects him in the end through self-destruction. Then he has to deal with cold, hard rejection.
The video is so popular, it quickly got a hilarious remix.

Don’t worry about whatever playlist you settled on for today because you’re pretty much going to have this mashup “Like A Bad White Guy Party Gangnam Style” on loop until you literally go insane trying to keep up with all the dance moves. Try combining Psy’s horse-riding move with LMFAO’s shuffle. Your head might explode.
Anyway, the mashup, which is by Steve Streza features a lot of our fave hits. Check out the playlist below.

It’s been quite a while since we heard a new song from our girl Taylor Swift, and even if you’re a guy, you have to admit every single of hers is catchy. Yes, it’s written about an ex-boyfriend (any guesses who it could be) and hopefully after he heard the song, got the point that it’s totally OVER.
Here at ANDPOP, not only do we love the artist’s original tracks but we love to see all the hidden talent over the internet. We recently rallied up our top covers from Fun, Skrillex and One Direction. Let us know if your faves made our faves list:

After the devastating news of Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger’s forthcoming union, we understand this mashup of their music might be a little too soon to take. Still, it’s my duty to bring the remix to your attention.
Insanity Wolf mashed up their songs “Complicated” vs “Rockstar” vs. “How You Remind Me.” The result is “This Is How You Remind Me That Being a Rock Star is Complicated.” Just rolls of the tongue, doesn’t it?
In all seriousness, we should be happy for the two singers. They’re easy targets to make fun of, but there comes a point when the jokes become mean. The two have found love and that’s more than many of us can say, right? C’mon, through ‘em one and be happy. Just don’t listen to the mashup song twice, because I haven’t tested what the ramifications are yet.

Thomas the Tank Engine is putting the HOOD in childhood. Looks like the famous locomotive got a whole lot gangster in this remix, mashing up Biggie Small’s “Machine Gun Funk.” It’s hilarious because who would ever think to mix the two together? This has got to be the best childhood win ever!

As if the Mister Rogers inspirational remix wasn’t enough, PBS now brings you a second favourite from The Joy of Painting, Bob Ross (as if his voice wasn’t soothing enough). I honestly didn’t think they could top it off, but I was wrong. The “Happy Painter” assures you that everyday is a good day with paint.
If everyone was like Bob Ross, the world would be a happier place. Who do you think PBS should remix next?

Proving what a versatile performer he is, Justin Bieber tweeted a short and seemingly impromptu video of him singing his hit song ‘Boyfriend’ with a country twang.
Accompanied by friends and acoustic guitar, the teen singer isn’t the only one who has offered a country version of his song. Last March, Lady Gaga did the same when she released the ‘Country Road‘ version of ‘Born This Way’, which was a full version of the song and an actual remix.
That being said, would you like to hear Justin make a country version of ‘Boyfriend’??
Do you ever miss watching all the inspirational advice Mister Rogers used to give? He was always so positive and had an answer for everything. Here’s the nicest video mashup you’ll see all day, courtesy of melodysheep.
Prepare to want to pick up a lost dream like Etch A Sketch, marble painting or paper mache.

It’s tricky to find a mashup that doesn’t actually sound like a mashup. Sometimes you can tell the two songs weren’t really meant to make love and were hastily thrown together for novelty. But this Carlos Serrano-mashup sounds totally legit and I’m obsessing.
He mashed Kanye West’s “Homecoming” with Lana Del Rey’s “Born to Die.” Though we don’t hear her vocals, we do get Coldplay’s Chris Martin’s lyrics from the original version of “Homecoming.” I love the strong beat mixed with the the hypnotizing melody in Lana’s “Born to Die.” And I keep hitting re-peat-peat-peat-peat.

Sam Tsui mashed together 14 of Britney Spears’ biggest hits making one epic track. All the tracks blend together more smoothly than I thought they would, seamlessly transitioning from her earlier songs to the later ones. Apparently her professional evolution is a lot less scary than her personal one.
He also shows how he performed the vocals and did the instrumentals instrumentals for the mashup through several different camera views.

Florida duo Urban Noize dropped their remix for Wiz Khalifa’s “No Sleep” and it sounds like an acoustic version of the original. The Rolling Papers remix combines an acoustic guitar and hard-hitting bass to create a relaxed vibe. They took his stand out lyrics and voice and edited it onto the laid back beat, making it perfect for a lazy summer night. We can’t wait to hear what they come up with next.

Kanye West “remixed’ Cassie’s already solid “King of Hearts” and revealed the song online. Is it just me or is the remix pretty light? And it’s entirely void of Kanye. That’s not always a bad thing, but I actually think it would have helped to throw in a rap… if at least to differentiate the song from the original.
Still, I’m giving Kanye credit for sticking to a producer role rather than completely stealing the show as he’s wont to do. That must be very hard for him.
