Zac Efron Thinks Robert Pattinson is ‘Amazing’

It seems that it isn’t only the ladies who are falling in love with the charm of Robert Pattinson; MTV News reports that Zac Efron digs the heartthrob actor, too.

“He is absolutely amazing,” Efron said to Access Hollywood on the Oscar red carpet last night (March 7) of the Twilight star. “I think he’s making great choices. I think he’s handling it all really well, but you know, he’s a superstar. He really deserves all this.”

Pattinson has a new movie, Remember Me, opening this Friday. As for High School Musical star Efron, he’s got his own new blockbuster dreams. He spoke to MTV News about the prospect of playing Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire, who played the superhero in the first three installments, reportedly has no plans to revive the role). “Are you kidding? It would be a dream come true,” Efron said. “I think it would be an honour. I would tear it up.

“I’ve been a fan of Spider-Man since the beginning,” he added. “I remember being 6-years-old and tearing open that comic book. I couldn’t get enough. It would be a dream.”

From one gorgeous man to another. James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has passed on his extensive knowledge of dealing with being a Hollywood heart-throb to Twilight star Robert Pattinson on the set of their new movie, according to msn.com.

The 56-year-old British actor appears in the new film Remember Me with the young Pattinson. Brosnan admitted that it was strange for him not to be the heart-throb in the movie.

“The list was long and the girls were many on the streets of New York City and his motor home was the epicentre of beautiful girls,” Brosnan said. “My motor home was quiet. When I started doing Bond there was a publicist that told me, ‘Grace under pressure.’ I said the same thing to Robert, ‘Grace under pressure.’ Celebrate and enjoy it.”

“Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson has been cast in a new movie, an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s short story “Bel Ami,” as reported by Variety.

The actor revealed the news while in Cannes to promote his next flick “Remember Me.” He also told Variety, to the excitement of female fans, that the female lead hasn’t been cast yet for “Remember Me.” “The girl needs to be literally inspirational,” he says. “I have no qualms saying that she’s a genius.”

“Bel Ami” is scheduled to shoot next year in Paris and will be directed by British theatre director Declan Donnellan. Pattinson also managed to draw some similarities between his character in “Remember Me” and the vampire that made him a star. “They’re both about commitment,” he told Variety, adding that fans will get to see more of Edward through Bella’s “hallucinations” in “New Moon.”

Pattinson is also set to star alongside Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in the period drama “Unbound Captives,” which tells the story of an American woman (Rachel Weisz) and her murdered husband killed by a Comanche war party. Pattinson will play her son.

Young love isn’t going to get any easier for “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson – at least, not in his next movie.

The 22-year-old actor has been cast in Summit Entertainment’s “Remember Me,” a romantic drama about a young couple who must overcome a succession of family tragedies that complicate their relationship.

Not much else is known about the plot, but Summit co-chairman and CEO Patrick Wachsberger has described the film as this generation’s “Love Story,” reports ScreenDaily.com. “Love Story,” of course, is the classic 1970 romance starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal that featured the famous line “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”

Pattinson’s love interest in the film, which was previously titled “Memoirs,” has yet to be cast.

Allen Coulter, an Emmy-winning director whose credits include “The Sopranos” and “Damages,” will direct, while “Rachel Getting Married” screenwriter Jenny Lumet is working on a draft of the screenplay.

“Remember Me” will shot this summer in New York between production on the “Twilight” sequels “New Moon” and “Eclipse.” The second and third installments of Stephanie Meyer’s hit series continue to follow the tumultuous relationship between the vampire Edward (Pattinson) and the human teen Bella (Kristen Stewart).

Pattinson will next appear in the Salvador Dali biopic “Little Ashes,” which was shot before “Twilight.” The movie hits theatres in May.
