Fans of both Adam Lambert and Eminem have weighed in with MTV on the rapper’s controversial anti-gay lyric from the song “Elevator.”
Eminem, whose new album Relapse: Refill will be officially released on December 21st, has once again revealed his controversial opinion of homosexuality…shocking. But this time there were specific targets:
“Sorry, Lance, Mr. Lambert and Aiken ain’t gonna make it/ They get so mad, when I call them both fake/ It’s all these f—ing voices in my head, I can’t take it/ Someone shut that f—ing baby up, before I shake it.”
Doesn’t seem so harsh until you here the fake/it’s combo, and then you understand that Eminem is still as reckless as always.
New songs from Emineme’s re-release of his Relapse LP have entered the world on the internet as of Thursday (December 3). The album, Relapse: Refill will be conveniently be released right before Christmas, on December 21.
The two songs, entitled “Elevator” and “Buffalo Bill” are patent-Enimem: satirical raps that call out other famous names, manic rhymes and brimming with humor.
The track “Elevator” is filled with lyrics which narrate the extravagant life that Slim Shady is enjoying now that he is famous. According to mtvnews.com, the controversial rapper also makes reference to NSYNC’s former member Lance Bass as well as two “American Idol” contestants, Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert, with the line “Sorry, Lance, Mr. Aiken and Lambert ain’t gonna make it.” The track also includes the luxury of using gold toilet paper, and of course, having an elevator in his opulent mansion. Eminem has recently spoken to complex.com on a variety of topics, ranging from addiction to Lil Wayne, as rollingstone.com reports.
Despite the release of Relapse: Refill later this month, the rapper still plans to release Relapse 2, the follow-up to his comeback CD, Relapse.
“When I finished Relapse, I had a whole album of material that didn’t make it that I wasn’t ready to throw away, so that was going to be Relapse 2,” he told Complex. “But then I got with Dre in Hawaii and started recording more, and now the new material has knocked out all the old songs.”
“Making Relapse, I was still working the drugs out of my system, so there was a lot of…just jokey shit,” he continued. “It was a lot of punchline-y, funny, shock value – kind of going back to The Slim Shady LP. And that was cool, but I’ve kind of flipped the page. Now I’m going for songs instead of one-liners.”
If The Fame Monster wasn’t enough for you, not to worry: there’s another re-release heading your way.
Eminem will release Relapse: The Refill – not to be confused with Relapse 2- on Dec. 21, the rapper announced on his website last week, reports rollingstone.com.
The Refill will include the entire Dr. Dre-produced Relapse album, plus seven songs that didn’t originally make the cut. The DJ Hero exclusive song “Taking My Ball,” plus the Eminem/Drake/Lil Wayne/Kanye West collaboration “Forever” will be included on The Refill, along with five other previously unreleased tracks.
Still, Eminem does promise the Relapse 2, the second album of his comeback after a hard battle with drug addiction. But with the release of The Refill, it looks like Relapse 2 is now slotted for a 2010 release.
“I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned,’ Eminem said. “Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year.”
Eminem’s new album will be much more “emotionally driven” than the first Relapse, MTV news reports.
“[The album] is gonna be a lot different than people expect,” Eminem said in an interview on his Shade 45 satellite-radio station, “The last record I made, I think I was concentrating more on spitting. On this album, I feel like there’s some of that, but I went back to songs with [feelings] to them as opposed to just rap records.”
Eminem said in the interview that he’s working with artists Just Blaze and D12’s Mr. Porter. Just Blaze is known more famously as a major DJ in the music industry, but is reportedly rapping on several tracks on Relapse 2.
“We are working on Relapse 2 pretty heavily. As of yesterday, we’ve done about six or seven records,” Blaze said in an interview with Distortion 2 Static.
Who knew a relapse could spawn something positive? Eminem’s latest studio release “Relapse,” a first in almost five years, grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Albums chart.
Meanwhile, Greenday took the No. 2 spot with sales of 166,000 copies for “21st Century Breakdown,” per Nielsen SoundScan.
Also, 6 other new albums hit the Top 10. Kenny Chesney landed the No. 3 spot with “Greatest Hits II,” followed by Method Man & Redman at No. 4 (selling 63,000 copies of “Blackout! 2.”
Eminem celebrated the U.S. release of his sixth studio album, “Relapse,” with a free show in his hometown of Detroit on Tuesday.
The 40-minute set at Motor City Hotel featured seven tracks off the new album, as well as the “8 Mile” hit “Lose Yourself.” For the latter track, the rapper brought several members of D12 up to the stage to accompany him.
According to Rolling Stone, Eminem also honoured his close friend Proof, who was shot and killed in 2006, with a shout-out. “I was a little bit nervous ’cause I don’t have my right-hand man tonight. I know you know who I’m talking about,” the rapper said, as the crowd chanted “Proof!”
Eminem delved into detail about his forthcoming album, Relapse, (due May 19) during an interview with Shade 45′s Angela Yee on “The Morning After” Sirius satellite radio show on Thursday, explaining why the album will only feature Dr. Dre and 50 Cent as collaborators.
According to mtvnews.com, Dre produced the majority of the album, save for one track Eminem did himself. The rapper said Dre’s handling the bulk of the production allowed him to experiment even more with his flow on this project, compared with his previous efforts.
“I really got a chance to step away from the boards,” Eminem said. “I tried to pick the [Dre beats] that challenged me, rhythm-wise. I ended up experimenting with a bunch of different flows. I try to do that every album, but this time I had a chance to go all out with it. Make every flow different and pick unique beats.”
It’s been a long time coming since we heard anything from Eminem, Slim Shady or the real Marshall Mathers, but the rap superstar who conquered the industry is ready to reclaim his throne.
MTV.com reports that the long awaited and eagerly anticipated album from Eminem will be available sooner than expected with the first LP slated for May, 19th and the first single and video hitting airwaves on April, 7th.
To add to the excitement of the long awaited material, Interscope Records announced on March, 5th tthat Eminem will be gracing his fans with not only one album this year, but two. The albums will be titled Relapse and relapse 2, which will be supposedly released halfway though this year, but has no solid release date as of yet.
“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” Eminem said in the press release. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”
