In the name of girl power, the Spice Girls will be performing at the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games tomorrow!
While there hasn’t been any confirmation on what songs the ladies will be performing, pictures of the girls rehearsing were posted on Twitter as they practiced their choreography on top of black cars.
Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham was the first to confirm that the group would be performing at the Olympics about three weeks ago.
“We are so proud to be English and we are very excited about the Olympics,” she said.
But don’t count on another reunion for the girls just yet. “I don’t know about a comeback tour, but I loved being back with the girls. There was a lot of fun, we did so much together and we’ll see. If they’re up for something then I certainly am.”
Oh, for the sake of my childhood…please go on ANOTHER reunion tour! While I’ll get to see you perform tomorrow, I guess I’ll have to settle for Viva Forever!, the West End Musical based on the Spice Girls’ hits.
That being said, what songs do you want to hear when they perform tomorrow?
Hopefully, they’ll perform this song.

These days, it’s hard to to find a song that doesn’t remind you of another song. A lot of artists purposely borrow from each other or unintentionally use similar melodies (check out One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” versus Grease’s “Summer Nights.”)
During the May 27 rehearsals in Tel Aviv for her MDNA world tour, Madonna unexpectedly performed her song “Express Yourself” with Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
A while ago, Madonna implied that Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” was just a knock-off of her hit “Express Yourself.” She told ABC News: ”I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was … interesting.”
Gaga, who prides herself on individuality, wasn’t thrilled with Madonna’s comparison and told NME last year: ”I’m a songwriter. I’ve written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded,” she said. “What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about. … If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years.”
Madonna and Gaga’s songs admittedly sound quite similar. However, a lot of people think Madonna’s mashup was a bit immature, especially when she starts singing: “She’s not me,” near the end, as though she’s trying to prove some sort of point.
Whatever the case, there are tons of songs that sound similar to each other and I don’t think there’s any harm in addressing the similarities, intentional or not.
Watch it here:
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were together Saturday at the AMA rehearsal.
A source told Us Weekly Justin “was in great spirits when he came for a couple hours to rehearse” for the American Music Awards on Saturday.
“At one point Justin even sang ‘I Feel Good’ a la James Brown!” the source adds. “They were totally adorable. They were snuggling in between takes, and he was serenading her! They look as in love as ever.”
Selena continues to stick by Justin despite the allegations by Mariah Yeater that Bieber fathered her child.
A video ot Britney Spears rehearsing a tour dance number has been released.
The video, which shows Spears and her backup dancers grooving to ‘How I Roll,’ gives me flashbacks to the old Britney. Tube top, ponytail, athletic gear? It’s like the ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ video!
Britney has never looked happier and more vested in her work. The only critique I have is that she still isn’t dancing very much, instead using her many backup dancers to distract us while she sits and lip-synchs. But she looks hot, so does it really matter?
Spears is prepping for her summer Femme Fatale tour with Nicki Minaj. View the video below and let us know what you think!
Christina Aguilera nailed the rehearsal for her Super Bowl performance – so what happened? During the rehearsal, her rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” was amazing.
TMZ reports that Christina was so confident, she didn’t even finish the song during the run through. Check out this vid to see for yourself.
A deal involving Sony Pictures, to acquire rehearsal footage from Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” concert rehearsal is being finalized. According to Variety, the distribution company hopes to give the film a theatrical release this Halloween.
It has been reported that Sony is paying approximately $60 million for 80 hours of rehearsal footage of Jackson. The footage currently belongs to AEG Entertainment, the company responsible for promoting Jackson’s 50 shows in London.
Kenny Ortega will reportedly assemble the movie which Sony plans to released on October 30, according to MTV News. The “High School Musical” director shot the original footage. According to Variety, the rehearsal film will feature “at least three” videos, and one of them could be an alternative version of Jackson’s hit “Thriller.
