Remember Dr. Evil’s sidekick in the first Austin Powers movie? His real name is Joseph Hyungmin Son and he could face life in prison for a brutal rape that occurred in 1990.
In 1990 a 20 year old woman was walking her dog in Huntington Beach, CA. She was abducted at gun point by two men, who repeatedly raped her, and she was later released with her pants around her ankles, reports KTLA.
Only years later in 2008, Son’s DNA was matched up as the rapist. He will be sentenced September 19 and faces 15 years to life in prison.
No wonder he was so good at playing an evil character.
Bristol Palin will be sitting down with Dr. Drew on his HLN show tonight, where he tries to convince her that she was raped by Levi Johnston.
“In California, that would be a rape. Is it the same in Alaska?” he asks, which Bristol awkward replies that she didn’t know. She also tries to defend Levi’s actions.
Drew keeps pushing by saying, ”Did it feel like rape?” Bristol says nothing. “Now remember what kids do is they try to make it right by justifying what happened…”
The entire interview airs tonight on HLN. What do you think? Was Bristol raped or is that too much of a stretch. Levi is certainly a douchebag and a sleaze, but calling him a rapist might be a tad unfair.
Earlier this month, two women accused Sean Kingston and a group of other men of sexual assault in a Seattle hotel room.
Both women told police that the men held them against their will, and were forced to having sex with the men. However, after police investigated further, they decided not to pursue charges against Kingston and the other men as they did not feel the claim was valid.
TMZ caught up with Kingston and asked him about the rape accusations. He replied by saying “That’s a rumor man.”
This incident evidently occurred while Kingston was on tour with Justin Bieber.
Sean Kingston has been accused of rape by a woman in Seattle, but police do not believe the allegation is credible, reports TMZ.
The alleged incident occurred Sunday night at a Crowne Plaza Hotel. Two women, 19 and 20 years old, showed up at a party in the hotel room already intoxicated. One woman had sex with Kingston, along with two other men once he left the room. The other woman had sex with another man in the room.
An ambulance was called to the hotel and both women were transported to hospital where rape tests were performed. The women are also being tested for Rufinol, but the results are not available.
Kingston was initially asked to be interviewed by the police, however police have now determined the accusations are not credible.
Kingston is scheduled to perform with Justin Bieber tonight in Portland.
Twilight star, Kristen Stewart, is apologizing for the comment she made this week, reports People.com.
The actress made a comparison between photos of herself taken by the paparazzi and images of rape. Everyone from fans to rape victims’ advocacy groups were quick to respond, standing up against what Stewart said.
“I really made an enormous mistake—clearly and obviously,” she says, “and I’m really sorry about my choice of words,” Stewart tells People.com.
“‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought,” she says.
Although the comment was offensive, the issue of sexual violence is something that Stewart has spoken out against in the past. She has appeared in public service announcements for two advocacy organizations, RAINN and SOC, promoting awareness of the issue.
She seems to be genuinely disappointed in herself despite the irony of the situation. “People thinking that I’m insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.”
On Friday afternoon actress Charlotte Lewis held a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred, saying that when she was 16 years old Roman Polanski sexually victimized her, reports E! Online.
Lewis claims that the incident occurred in Paris at Polanski’s apartment, four years after the director left the United States—fleeing before he could be sentenced for his first known sex crime.
Lewis stated, “Mr. Polanski knew I was only 16 years old when he met me and forced himself upon me in his apartment in Paris,” continuing, “He took advantage of me, and I have lived with the effects of his behavior ever since it occurred.” Lewis is now 42 years old.
Although the age of consent in France is 15 years old, what Lewis is alleging is that there was no consent involved—which, as you would expect, is very much illegal.
The timing for Lewis to step forward with these allegations comes as Polanski fights extradition to the U.S. where he would face sentencing for his first offence, which he has admitted to. Lewis wants to make sure his alleged actions are taken into consideration for how Polanski will be depicted in court.
“The defense, for example, may wish to portray their client as a loving father, and a law-abiding citizen after he fled and failed to appear for his sentencing,” said Allred.
This new information suggests Polanski’s life after fleeing the U.S. wasn’t squeaky clean, and could have an effect on how he’s perceived. Allred stated, “The judge, however, can also consider credible claims of predatory conduct after Mr. Polanski fled when determining the appropriate sentence for Mr. Polanski.”
Polanski resides in Switzerland and is under house arrest.
Lawrence Taylor, the football Hall of Famer, has been accused of raping a 16-year-old girl and was taken into custody early Thursday morning.
Reports indicate that the alleged victim was under control of a pimp and was coerced into having sex with Lawrence Taylor for $300. TMZ is reporting that the girl was instructed by her pimp to tell Taylor that she was 19-years-old.
The news has prompted weight loss company, Nutristystem, to say goodbye to Lawrence Taylor as a spokesperson for the company. Nutrisystem has severed their relationship with the one-time NFL superstar, reports TMZ, and commented, “We are shocked and saddened by these very serious allegations against Lawrence Taylor.”
It is no surprise that Taylor has been let go amid such serious allegations, and Nutrisystem has been fast to act, making the break effective immediately.
