Mel Gibson Gets 16 Hours of Community Service

That’s it?!

Anti-semite and wife beater Mel Gibson plead no contest to simple battery in a case against ex-wife Oksana Grigorieva and was sentenced to a mere 16 hours of community service.

You must be kidding us!! That’s literally nothing.

Worse yet, Gibson has chosen to carry out the sentence at ex-wife Robyn Gibson’s charity Mending Kids International, which means he’ll be around children for most or all of his 16 hours of service.

Surprisingly, parents haven’t complained. One family, in fact, came forward to Gibson’s defense, claiming he footed the bill for their son’s spinal surgery back in the day.

“If Mel was coming over to our house to play ball with my son,” the father said, “I would not be the least bit concerned.”

The monetary support is obviously a huge deal, but how about that crazy hate doctrine Gibson’s been spewing? Do you REALLY want your kids around that?

Kanye West Won’t Perform on ‘Today’

Kanye West was scheduled to make an appearance on Today, but according to the rapper, that’s not going to happen. Kanye is upset about how the show portrayed him during an interview this past Wednesday and is officially backing out of the performance that was scheduled for later this month.

TMZ confirmed with a rep for Kanye that he won’t be appearing on their Black Friday show. Wednesday’s interview in question dealt with Kanye’s views of George W. Bush, an obvious sore spot for the rapper.

Like many other stars these days, Kanye took to Twitter to make his decision public.

“I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up,’” Kanye tweeted.

Following that tweet, he went on one of his famous Twitter rants, which culminated with this gem, “All positive energy … all smiles. Much love to Matt and the whole Today Show. I accept ya’ll future apology in advance LOL!”

‘Desperate Housewives’ Apologize Over Philippines Slur

ABC has responded to an online petition spread through the American Filipino community, many of them medical professionals.

The apology was sent to ABS-CBN, a Philippine broadcaster.

“The producers of the show and ABC studios offer our sincere apology for any offence caused by the brief reference in the season premier,” the statement said.

“There was no intent to disparage the integrity of any aspect of the medical community in the Philippines,” it said.

In the season premier of Desperate Housewives, Teri Hatcher’s character Susan Mayer asked her doctor if she could see “those diplomas because I want to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.”

In Manila, Eduardo Ermita, Arroyo’s chief aide, responded to the quote by saying, “On the face, we can look at it as a racial slur.”

“We are looked down upon too much, considering the number of our medical professionals in the US,” he added.
