Posted on andPOP:

QuickerTek, a company specializing in wireless Apple products, recently announced the release of an updated model of the Apple Juicz solar power device for the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

The Apple Juicz simultaneously powers and charges MacBooks, and either powers or charges the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Instead of heavy glass cells typically used for generating solar power, the Apple Juicz makes use of lighter materials and can fold into only 10.5 inches. It offers 55 watts of power to the Mac laptops and unfolds to 62 X 42 inches to gather as much solar power as possible while still being portable. A fully-charged Apple Juicz can provide MacBooks and MacBook Pros with 4 to 8 additional hours of power.

All models of MacBooks using this hardware must be upgraded to a MagSafe power adapter, which can be modified by QuickerTek for $25 or a new power adapter can be bought for $100. The Apple Juciz retails for $1000. More details can be found at http://www.quickertek.com/.

Posted on andPOP:

QuickerTek, a hardware company that specializes in wireless Apple products, has just released what may be the solution to the short battery life of the MacBook Air. QuickerTek now offers an External Battery Charger for the MacBook Air, which adds six to ten hours of battery power more than the built-in battery can provide. The battery charger is one of the few that can charge while the MacBook Air is in use.

The Mac-Book Air has a non-renewable battery, making the usual user solution of using multiple batteries to power the laptop for longer not possible. The QuickerTek product, however, solves this problem and can also charge a MacBook Air for a total of 12 to 16 hours. The external battery is used for as long as possible before converting to the internal battery power source in the MacBook Air. The External Battery Charger can be fully charged using the AC wall adaptor in less time than it takes the MacBook Air internal battery to charge (three versus four hours, respectively).

The battery charger is selling for $299.95 USD, and can be found online at http://www.quickertek.com, or with authorized dealers as listed at http://www.quickertek.com/vendors.php.
