A judge ended Lindsay Lohan’s supervised probation this morning meaning it’s time to drink and party stay indoors and consider prospective scripts.
Lindsay was released after completing her required community service and ending five years of criminal court appearances and jail stints.
“I just want to say thank you for being fair. It’s really opened a lot of doors for me,” Lindsay said in court.
The judge, Stephanie Sautner told the actress that she wouldn’t give a lecture but reminded her that she’ll remain on informal probation until May 2014, for taking a necklace without permission last year. “You need to live your life in a more mature way, stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work,” Sautner said.
In the meantime, Lindsay’s already booked a gig on Glee. She’s rumoured to be playing herself as a celebrity judge at one of the singing competitions. Her music expertise is based on her oh-so-successful singing career. [Source]
The term “fashionably late” can apply to Hollywood parties but not to county morgues.
After a judge revoked Lindsay’s probation yesterday and appointed her to two 8-hour shifts at the L.A. County Morgue, Lindsay Lohan was over 40 minutes late on her first day, according to TMZ.
Because of her tardiness, the troubled actress was turned away by the Coronor’s Office and now she must face the wrath of the judge.
Lindsay’s publicist blames her lateness on not knowing the proper entrance to the morgue as well as confusion brought on by the media as they set up outside, waiting her arrival.
As a girl in the public eye for many, many years, Lindsay should know how to work her away around a big mob of paparazzi’s, especially on a crucial day like today. Tsk tsk, Lilo.
Rapper Gucci Mane has been arrested yet again, reports Perez Hilton. Nobody is shocked.
Let’s take a look at his past legal woes. Back in November, Gucci Mane got into some trouble with the law over violent altercation with another person at a traffic stop light, where he was pepper-sprayed by the cops for resisting arrest. Then, in January, he was sent back to prison for a probation violation.
Now, police in DeKalb, GA, say Gucci has been arrested yet again “while visiting his probation officer!”
Yep, you read that right. The rapper got arrested while meeting with an officer of the law. You’d think he would put on a good front then, at least. Apparently, the rapper was charged with misdemeanor battery after he “intentionally caused visible bodily harm to a female by pushing her out of a moving vehicle.”
I mean, this is just ridiculous. Although his offence wasn’t that serious, he needs to get his act together and stop making stupid mistakes. There’s really nothing to say about this story, because it is not shocking, and any advice I offer him publicly won’t be adhered to. So good luck, Gucci, good luck.
It looks like Sean Penn’s previously pending paparazzi case is closed almost a year after the incident took place.
Penn plead no contest to vandalism after kicking a photographer in the knee, apparently giving the paparazzo a serious joint injury. The actor got 36 months probation and 300 hours of community service, along with being required to pay an undisclosed sum of money.
Moral of the story: not even Sean Penn can get away with an occasional knee-kick every now and then.
Both sides have signed the required documents and the case is officially closed.
Hollywood justice has been served.
We reported earlier that Lil Wayne will be on probation for the next three years of his life and must comply with the terms or face punishment.
Well, the terms of the probation were finalized and came into effect today. Among them, written in documents obtained by TMZ, it is stated that Weezy “may not consume or drink any substance containing alcohol.”
It sucks for him, considering that he’s planned a huge party for this weekend to celebrate his release from prison—including at least 48 confirmed bottles of bubbly. I guess his friends will just have to drink twice as much for him!
…Although those friends can’t have a criminal record. Another one of the terms of Lil Wayne’s probation makes it clear that the rapper can’t associate with any person who has a criminal record.
Alcohol or not, have fun Weezy!
If you’re a fan of Lil Wayne, you know that he’s been released from jail. Now that he’s out of the slammer, though, he must serve three years of probation.
TMZ reports that Weezy landed in Yuma, Arizona to meet with the local probation department and start the three year sentence.
The incident that landed the rapper in prison in the first place occurred in Yuma at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint, where officers found cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun. The felony drug charge is what put Weezy behind bars, with the other charges being dropped.
Lil Wayne will serve three years of unsupervised probation and also must complete 360 hours of community service—which will be carried out where he lives in Miami.
Sources say that if Lil Wayne has good behaviour, he might be able to get the felony charge dropped to a misdemeanour, which would be a positive if the rapper feels the need to go on tour with a bus filled with firearms and drugs.
TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan has failed drug test that was a requirement of her criminal case.
The drug test, which took place last week was court-mandated as part of her sentencing and, as per the terms of her probation, Lindsay is supposed get 30 days in jail for testing positive.
TMZ spoke to D.A. spokesperson Sandi Gibbons, who told them that the D.A.’s office hasn’t been “officially been” notified about Lindsay’s little misstep and no official procedures have been set in place yet.
“People with addiction problems don’t get better magically, and she’s really been making an effort to make herself better,” one source close to Lindsay says.
TMZ reports that rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka Cottle were arrested for possession of a controlled substance last night.
Police pulled over T.I.’s Maybach last night around 10:30pm in Los Angeles. Police smelt marijuana coming from the car, and after searching the vehicle, they found a controlled substance, not marijuana. Police would not be specific on the controlled substance, but said it’s the same class as methamphetamines and ecstasy.
The couple just got married on July 30th in Miami. And let’s not forget T.I. is on probation after doing time for weapons charges.
Basically the honeymoon is over and T.I. maybe the bride this time around if he gets thrown back in jail!
Lindsay Lohan may only serve 12-13 days in jail for violating her probation, says a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said on Tuesday.
Although Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in prison, and tried to hire a number of lawyers to reduce her sentence, the reality is nonviolent female inmates generally serve about 25 percent of their sentence. This is apparently mostly due to the overcrowding of the jail system.
See Lindsay, it won’t be so bad. Plus you will be better positioned to play a female inmate role in the future.
Sources tell TMZ that Lindsay Lohan isn’t going to get any heat from the L.A. County Probation Department.
Following reports that her SCRAM bracelet had a positive reading after the MTV Movie Awards, the source says that Lindsay took a urine test, and the results were clean.
Shawn Chapman Holley, Lindsay’s lawyer, says that the star went to the Probation Department the morning after the awards show and the test results were negative for alcohol, leaving Lohan in the clear.
A source at the Probation Department tells TMZ that a clean result is all they needed to see and no breach of Lohan’s bail conditions occurred during this situation.
Lindsay Lohan may very well have a warrant issued for her arrest this morning.
Lohan is due in court this morning in regards to her probation progress report, however the pop star is claiming her passport has been stolen, leaving her stranded in Cannes, France.
TMZ also reports that Lohan hasn’t attended the required number of alcohol rehabilitation classes. Lindsay claims the instructor made it “uncomfortable” for her to attend the required number of classes because she claims the instructor was texting that she wanted to hang out with her. She had 3 more courses that had to be completed by today in order to comply with her probation.
Judge Marsha Revel will most likely issue a warrant for Lohan’s arrest today.
Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s (the train wreck) father, had a letter sent to the judge in Lindsay Lohan’s DUI probation case, reports TMZ. However, the letter was no ordinary letter. It was asking for inpatient rehab or alternatively, random drug testing, for Lindsay and no jail.
The letter acknowledges “… Lindsay may have violated the terms of her probation by missing multiple court-ordered alcohol education classes.” And furthermore, the letter appears as an attempt to keep the star from jail time.
Lisa Bloom, Michael’s lawyer, claims he is urging the judge to put Lindsay in a private drug rehab facility in New York, and Michael also wants family counselling. This is because the loving father is “gravely concerned” about Lindsay’s “deterioration.”
But there is a minor problem with Michael’s request. What if the judge won’t bite on the rehab? Probation is the answer. Bloom and Michael are asking the judge to extend her probation and subject Lindsay to “frequent, random, court-ordered drug testing.”
And like all good things in life, this letter comes to an end. Michael does not want his little LiLo to become “the next Hollywood statistic.” Good luck Michael?
Lindsay Lohan might be getting a little time off from her usual party scene. Amid all of the Lohan family drama that has been in the entertainment news lately, one more bomb was dropped that could land Lindsay in jail.
She is currently on probation for a DUI and has reportedly broken the terms of that agreement.
Judge Marsha Revel had laid out the probation requirements for Lindsay; to stay out of jail she had to attend a weekly alcohol education course. Apparently this was too big of a rule to stay committed to as Lohan repeatedly found a way around her terms.
As TMZ reports, Lohan seems to have forgotten about the terms of the bargain—Judge Revel made it clear that Lindsay would have to attend the course once every seven days, however it seems that Ms. Lohan found a little loophole that allowed her to avoid going longer, and which is now getting her in loads of trouble.
The establishment which Lindsay chose to take the alcohol education course is only required by law to dish on their students if they are absent for 21 days or more. This is not a one-time thing either, as TMZ’s report outlines, Lohan “frequently waited until the 21st day to attend classes.”
So what does this all mean? Lindsay met the conditions placed on her by the school that she attended, but broke the requirements by the judge—not a step in the right direction. In fact, it’s a step towards being behind bars—and we don’t mean serving drinks.
Lohan has a progress hearing on the 20th of May and it is more than likely to end badly for her. The information that she has skipped out on the required weekly alcohol ed. classes will be taken into consideration and could get her on the guest list for the big house.
Judge Revel made it clear that if Lindsay violated her probation, she is getting locked up. The outing of Lohan’s poor attendance makes it very likely that she will be going to jail. Her probation was routinely broken thanks to the 21 day rule her alcohol education school has, and she will definitely be getting some grief from the law for that.
When asked for comment by TMZ, Lohan’s laywer, Shawn Chapman Holley, responded by email with the following: “We have received no negative written report from the program and contend Ms. Lohan is therefore in compliance.” Is she in compliance with the program? Yes. Is she in compliance with the law? No.
We will have to wait and see how the court will decide to deal with Lindsay’s bad behaviour, but it’s likely the star will be looking at some jail time.
Sorry Lindsay, but you might have to take a little break from partying until 5:00 AM—the slammer has a curfew.
It has been a long road of redemption for the rapper but T.I. (real name Clifford Joseph Harris) is out of jail, according to MTV. His incarceration stemmed from a 2007 arrest where he attempted to buy firearms illegally.
The rapper was originally sentenced to 366 days in prison, however in December he was placed at a halfway house. Earlier this month he was allowed to return home to finish the remainder of his sentence.
However T.I. still has some of his debt to repay to society. According to TMZ, his lawyer says that he will be placed under “supervised release” for 23 days. What this means is T.I. must be home by 11 p.m. unless he’s performing, in which case his curfew is extended until 1 a.m.
Additionally Harris must complete 400 hours of community service and remain on probation for three years.
DMX (aka Earl Simmons) was arrested earlier today in Arizona (yes this is hardly news as it seems DMX gets arrested daily). TMZ reports that the rapper violated the terms of his probation by using illegal drugs from the past nine months.
His lawyer Gary Jenkins says “He’s been battling addiction for some time and he’s in need of treatment.” Additionally his lawyer commented that DMX needs serious help, potentially from somebody like celebrity therapist Dr. Drew Pinsky.
Well Stephanie Pratt should be thanking her lucky stars because she has managed to avoid jail time. The Hills star has reached a deal with the District Attorney stemming from her DUI arrest on October 18th. Stephanie was driving home from Holly Montag’s birthday when she was puled over. Pratt has pleaded no contest to get a reduced charge of exhibition of speeding. Stephanie has also agreed to enroll in a 8 week Alcoholics Anonymous program.
“I’m happy about the outcome,” Pratt tells E! News exclusively. “I enrolled in Betty Ford Clinic for two weeks right after my DUI arrest.”
Chris Brown should be having a bad day. In fact, he should be having a bad life considering the fire he has come under since he assaulted Rihanna in February. But despite his sentencing yesterday (five years probation, a restraining order from Rihanna, domestic violence courses, 6-months community service), and the release of the official police report from the incident (a brutal account of his relentless attack on Rihanna), Brown has still found time to dress up, hit the recording studio and party.
First, Brown was seen entering the Record Plant Recording Studio in L.A. yesterday shortly after his hearing. Pictures on TMZ.com show Brown had changed from his three-piece suit into a hip vest and oversized yellow heart broach. Not exactly non-chalant.
In the same outfit hours later, Brown was seen partying at Guys and Dolls in Hollywood. The photos on TMZ.com show Brown surrounded by several women – shockingly – and actually enjoying himself. This comes after a statement from the probation report in which Brown said he has been “depressed” since the February incident.
Chris Brown was sentenced today to five years probation and six months hard labour for assaulting Rihanna earlier this year, according to TMZ.com. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault.
Judge Patricia Schnegg ruled Brown must stay 100 yards away from Rihanna at all times, in the exception of entertainment events where he must stay 10 yards away. This ruling extends for five years. According to TMZ.com, Public Information Officer Sandi Gibbons said Judge Schnegg also told Brown the sentence is not a slap on the wrist and she is aware of his celebrity status. She said she will sentence him to prison time if he violates his probation.
Waffles weren’t on the menu for Kid Rock on Tuesday when he was sentenced to one year probation, six hours of anger management counseling and 80 hours of community service for his involvement in a fight that took place in an Atlanta Waffle House last October.
After a gig in Atlanta, Rock and his entourage headed to the waffle house where they got into an altercation with Harlen Akins, 39. The altercation led to a fight in the parking lot with Akins allegedly breaking one of the restaurant’s windows and Kid Rock driving off on his tour bus before cops stopped and charged Rock and five others on misdemeanor battery charges.
Rock pleaded no contest to one count of simple battery with four other counts of battery being dropped. Band mates Jason E. Krause and James W. Murphy also pleaded no contest and received similar sentences. The charges were dropped against the other three men.
Rock’s attorney, Darryl Cohen, told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that Rock was “not terribly unhappy” with the sentence. “I think my client is satisfied. He would have liked to have tried it. He came within a hairbreadth of going to trial.”
Kid Rock was also fined $1000. That could have bought a lot of waffles.
