It looks like word of the bad economy has finally reached Buckingham palace!

British Royal Prince William and his fiancé, Kate Middleton, have decided to skip the garish, expensive honeymoon following their spring wedding. Instead, the pair have opted for a trip to the picturesque but geographically convenient Isles of Scilly just off the coastal town of Penzance.

Gotta love those lighthouses!

It’s been said that this vacation choice was not only easier on the royal family’s wallet but also made the security detail surrounding the couple far more manageable. After the recent attack on Charles and Camilla, the last thing the royal family needs is another dangerous breach.

It should be a trip down memory lane for William, who used to vacation in the isles when he was younger with brother Harry and his royal parentals, Charles and Diana.

The couple will wed on April 29^th at Westminster Abbey.

Diana Inquest Verdict Made: ‘Killed Unlawfully’

The Diana inquest was finished yesterday when jurors found that the Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed “were unlawfully killed by the reckless driving of their chauffeur, Henri Paul, and the paparazzi who chased them,” the UK Guardian reports.

Paul was revealed during the inquest to have been three times over the French blood alcohol limit, with blood tests and other samples.

Princes William and Harry were present to hear the verdict, and later thanked the jury for the “thorough way in which they have considered the evidence”.

“We agree with their verdicts,” the Princes stated, “and are both hugely grateful to each and every one of them for the forbearance they have shown in accepting such significant disruption to their lives over the past six months.”

The Princes said they were also grateful to the people who came forward with evidence, and to “all those who fought so desperately to save our mother’s life on that tragic night.”

Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi’s father, said he was “disappointed” by the verdict. He believed that his son and the Princess had been killed deliberately, as part of a conspiracy involving the royal family and MI6.

During the six-month inquest, more than 240 witness testified. It is estimated to have cost upwards of £10m.

Duchess Of Cornwall To Undergo Hysterectomy

British royal PRINCE CHARLES’ wife CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL has been admitted to a London hospital for a hysterectomy operation.

The 59-year-old arrived at the $975-a-night King Edward VII hospital at 11pm on Sunday night, but officials have not confirmed if she will undergo the procedure today.

A spokesperson for Charles and Camilla’s London residence Clarence House said the operation was “routine” and was not cancer-related.

Camilla’s engagements have been postponed for the next six weeks to give her time to recover from the operation.

A hysterectomy involved total or partial removal of the womb and is carried out if the patient has fibroids in the uterus, cancer or suffers from heavy or irregular periods.

Princes To Receive Compensation For Diana’s Death?

British royals PRINCE WILLIAM and PRINCE HARRY could receive at least 10 million pounds (US$19.6 million) in compensation for their mother DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES’ tragic death.

Last month’s report into the car crash that killed the Princess, her lover DODI AL FAYED and their chauffeur HENRI PAUL has fuelled the possibility of civil compensation actions being taken to the French courts, where there is no upper limit for financial awards.

The bereaved family of Paul has reportedly spoken to lawyers about launching a civil compensation action to clear his name, and the Princes could be eligible for compensation for their mother’s untimely death.

STEPHANE COTTIN, chief registrar at France’s Constitutional Council, confirms, “Under article 1382 of France’s civil code, it is up to the judge to decide the level of compensation and there is no maximum limit.”
