Carly Rae Jepsen premiered a new song titled “Take A Picture” during the first of American Idol’s two-part season finale, Wednesday night.
Jepsen got a little help from her fans when it came to writing the new track. As part of the Coca-Cola Perfect Harmony contest, her fans were able to vote on their favourite lyrics that would ultimately make it onto the final product. “It was great to ask fans and find the answer to ‘What do the listeners love’,” the 27-year-old told Teen Vogue. She added that even though she didn’t have any say in how the song turned out, it was a really cool process.
Fans of the singing reality show can watch American Idol crown their winner on tonight’s show.
Rocker Avril Lavigne takes her fans to prom in the music video for her latest single, “Here’s to Never Growing Up.”
Lavigne told MTV that while she had her own initial concept for the music video, the directer came up with the concept of “prom.” Good choice, because the music video has a very fun, upbeat feel to it. Lavigne’s past music videos have been anything but that, but regardless the music video is entertaining. The song itself is the perfect radio jam, and the perfect song to belt out with your friends. [Ed.'s note: Is it just me or does it sound like "Complicated" but without the "punky" attitude? No, just me? Okay.]
There’s a lot of music videos out there that try to channel prom, but I think Lavigne did a pretty good job with it and, if I dare say it, better than most.
The single is seemingly a couple effort as her fiance and Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger helped write the song.
Down With Webster has released it’s first single since the release of their album Time To Win, Vol. 2
The single “One In a Million” has just been released as a lyric video. The song will be made available on iTunes March 26.
The song is upbeat, fun, and perfect to jam too. It’s your typical Down With Webster song. It is bound to be on the radio, and you can be sure it will be that one song you blast because no matter how many times you listen to it, you will want to jam along.
Canadian hip-hop artist Classified is channeling his fighter side with his new video “Inner Ninja.” The video shows Classified suiting up in a ninja outfit, along with mini-Classified ninjas in training. Ultimately, the video is a visual side kick to the inspirational song which talks about the strength within. Something tells me that the various kids in the video might symbolize the strength the artist has had since he was little.
Fellow Canadian songwriter and performer David Myles makes several appearances in the video. The two sit side-by-side which goes along with the video’s theme of togetherness. In the end, the two have inspired the kids to defend themselves and channel their inner ninjas.
The Expendables 2 is probably one of the manliest movies out now theatres, but whether you’re a guy or a girl..beware of the following:
1. It’s so manly it will make you pregnant.
2. Ladies, it’s gunna put hair on your chest.
3. Weekly supply of vitamin guns (definitely more like to last a lifetime)
4. “Stop looking at cat videos.” Oops that’s totally us.
If this video doesn’t convince you enough, Crews also told @Jordans_life on the red carpet for the premiere, “If you were raised by a single mom, you’re about to have a daddy right now.”

Tonight’s the premiere of Pretty Little Liars, season three. FINALLY. The date has been marked on my very own Pretty Little Liars calendar since the end of season two. So to all my friends, if you continuously bug me tonight, be prepared to die because I’m obvs be sitting on the couch, wearing my I love Mr. Fitz crop top and watching the PLL marathon on ABC.
Yes, I know I have fangirl problems to the extreme but really who can blame me? Two words: Ian Harding. Here, I will give you a second to look him up… See told you he is HOT!
Ian isn’t the only reason why you should watch the premiere of PLL. Here are five more:
1) A new “A”
According to ABC Family we’ll be introduced to a new ‘A, who will use Aria’s past mistakes to taunt her. I’m a little excited to see what ‘A’ has in store for Aria especially after watching the season three promo, which shows Aria, trapped in a bathroom stall screaming for her life. My one concern is that Ezra will be caught up in this mess and I CANNOT have anything happen to him. My fangirl heart could not take that!
2) Ali’s grave is robbed? Read more…

Here’s a heartfelt save-my-ass apology from that reporter who got slapped by Will Smith on the red carpet after he kissed the actor one too many times.
Ukrainian interviewer Vitalii Sediuk said he intended to do something different than the other journalists and didn’t mean to offend Smith.
“I don’t take offence. Of course, we have different mentalities,” he said. ”It was a splash of emotions, an emotional moment and I’m sorry for that. Next time if I meet him, I’ll just shake his hand.”
I feel bad for the guy. I really don’t think he meant any harm or that he did it for attention. A lot of people insist the gesture was a misinterpreted cultural greeting since many people greet each other with a kiss on the cheek and it’s NO BIG DEAL. In fact, I think it was a mistake on Smith’s part considering all these reporters were there to promote his movie.
If you missed the epic slap, Smith was unimpressed during the Moscow premiere of Men in Black 3 when Sediuk tried to plant a big sloppy one on his lips. He joked with another reporter: “He’s lucky I didn’t sucker punch him.”

I’m surprised that Cory Monteith doesn’t like dancing considering he’s regularly required to learn dance routines as Finn Hudson on Glee. Cory was on Conan O’Brien last night to promote the continuation of Glee, which comes back tonight.
He admitted that he doesn’t think he’s very good at busting a move so when he goes to clubs he does what he calls “tiny dancing,” which has nothing to do with Elton John. The dance includes a subtle Roxbury head nod and a couple shoulder shrugs. Judging from his moves in the above gif, I don’t blame him for holding back!

The Wanted premiered their new single “Chasing the Sun” on Radio 1 this morning, inspiring many fans to set their alarms and wake up early for the occasion. The song, which was written and produced by Example, is upbeat and you’ll be able to able to sing along with the chorus after the first listen. However, it’s not known if it will be on the band’s new album.

Oh to be 19 and in love, painting walls with Boy and snapping candids in the car — then looking over the photos when you’re not together because you miss each other so much. That’s the way Demi Lovato’s new video for “Give Your Heart A Break” goes.
Instead of the angsty broken-hearted music videos we’re used to these days, Demi gives us something a little happier. And I’m happier for it. She sings: “Don’t wanna break your heart /Wanna give your heart a break /I know you’re scared it’s wrong /Like you might make a mistake /There’s just one life to live /And there’s no time to waste.”
The video was directed by Justin Francis and is about two will-they-or-won’t-they friends who eventually decide to trust their feelings and let their guard down for love. Demi went nearly makeup free for the video, which is perfect to match the light and airy quality of the song.

Adam Lambert showed off a pared down look and performance at an acoustic set this week, premiering his new song “Never Close our Eyes.” The song was written by Playboy cover star Bruno Mars, and is about never wanting to sleep so you can spend all your time awake with your loved one.
The song will appear on his sophomore album Trespassing, which comes out on May 15. While I love his flashier Queen-style performances you can really hear the power of his voice in this track. He says it’s the first time he’s performed acoustically and I think he should do it more often. [Source]

Meeting The Hunger Games’ Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson causes uncontrollable squealing and increased eyelash batting for most fangirls. When I interviewed the hotties for my first red carpet event (ever!) I had a total teen girl moment. Here’s our behind the scenes look at the red carpet event.

Justin Bieber made a special appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show today to introduce his artist Carly Rae Jepsen.
After her performance of “Call Me Maybe,” Carly and Justin sat down with Ellen and shared how the record deal came along. Justin said he first heard her song on the radio in Canada [cue cheers]. When he was told she was available, Justin decided to call her up and offer her a record contract — like it’s an everyday thing.
Justin also premiered 15 seconds of his new song “Boyfriend.” Ellen tried to predict the melody a couple weeks ago, though thankfully her ability to predict the future was off because his version of the song sounds much better.
So far, Justin has been the best promotion Carly has ever gotten. Her song is catchy on its own, but Justin has wisely used social media to showcase “Call Me Maybe.” His girlfriend Selena Gomez tweeted a photo of him smiling at Carly’s song and he also called up a bunch of his conveniently famous friends to create a homemade music video, which has more than triple the views than the one Carly made. So the promotion goes both ways…

Tonight’s the night! Community is finally returning after it’s overdrawn hiatus. We know you’re already in the mood (how could you not be?) but in case you need a reminder of how awesome the show is, check out this fan promo, which showcases the show’s best clips with Madeon’s “Pop Culture” playing over them.
The video’s editor talks about the show’s influence on their life: “The writing on this show has effected me greatly since I found it, such that it convinced me to return to university after having dropped out. I truly love the show, so the goal of this video was to hook people into it as best I can. Hopefully the video isn’t cheesy though.”
I already revealed that I watched the entire two and a half seasons in a month, often cramming them in before bed or early in the morning…. I have an addictive personality when it comes to worthy TV shows. I don’t know how I’ll fare watching the show on a weekly schedule… it’s just not enough.
Hundreds of fans headed to the Los Angeles’ Hunger Games premiere on Monday night to showcase their intense love of the movie with homemade signs. Forget about Edward versus Jacob, the new battle is between Peeta and Gale. One girl even requested her first kiss from Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta.
On top of the film’s stars, Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth there were lots of other A-listers at the premiere, including Miley Cyrus, Sylvester Stallone, and Shailene Woodley.
The first reviews are already in and I’m happy to report (as a reader of the books) that they’re positive and it’s expected to be on par with Harry Potter and Twilight.
Check out some of the signs below:

Usher’s new video for the ultra-sexual song “Climax” features juicy scenes in which he makes love to the camera and is so passionate and full of rage he nearly bursts through the screen.
The video’s story is hard to piece together, but it essentially features bits and pieces of a forbidden relationship. Usher does the dirty with a taken woman and deals with feelings of jealousy and regret afterward. At one point he reaches for a gun, but ultimately comes to his senses and gives up.

1) Community is slowly shifting from a clever comedy to an epic thriller — the entertainment event of the year. No more laughing for us, it’s all about the suspense.
2) It’s the end of the world community college as we know it. The Greendale seven are expelled, but are given a second chance to purge all the weirdness from their system. This naturally leads to the question, what will happen to the weirdest person in the group, Chang?
3) The main love interest is of course Troy and Abed, but they are ripped apart by their “destinies.” It seems to come to a head in a battle of pillows, with each of them leading their own warriors.
4) Annie gets a “passing grade.” I know, hold your shock. Apparently Annie sometimes gets C’s too.
5) There are tons of epic scenes, though it’s hard to relate them to one anther: Chang tasers his man parts, Britta dresses as Michael Jackson, Jeff goes to the chapel with a special someone and Abed wears a fake beard.
The new season starts on March 15. Will you be watching?

As we all know, Zac Efron has so much sex he needs to carry protection in his pocket at ALL times. Since we’re all so suppressed obsessed with the “issue” Efron has been fielding questions from the media. This morning it was The Today Show.
Matt Lauer — who always asks the gritty questions — surprised The Lorax star with a question about the so-called Condomgate incident. You can tell Efron tried to laugh it off and is a bit embarrassed, but not so embarrassed as Lauer who can hardly ask the question without babbling.
Efron answered the question pretty well and called out Lauer for hardly being able to say the word “condom” without giggling. “You dropped a — a — condom.” Awkward!
Efron said the fact that he uses protection is a great message to add to the many other messages of the film. But really, come on guys! Is it really such a big deal?

In a decidedly less epic affair than the Superbowl halftime show, Madonna premiered her new song “Girl Gone Wild,” the second single from her forthcoming studio album “MDNA.”
Apparently Madonna wasn’t satisfied with the mixed reviews she received for “Give Me All Your Luvin” but I actually prefer that song to this one. They’re now calling her first single a “buzz single” meant to create hype, but that’s probably because it started to stall on Billboard’s charts. Quick thinking guys!
Her new song tells the tale of bad girls who “get fired up like a smoking gun.” Although Madonna knows it’s wrong, it feels so good so she is a “bad girl anyway, hey!” I like the beat of this song but I don’t find Madonna is punchy enough. It almost sounds like she’s holding back — she’s not completely selling it to me. But I will say, the chorus will be stuck in my head all day.

Turkish-born Ennis Esmer is probably best known to Canadians who tune in every Friday night at 8 p.m. to watch him as Osman ‘Oz’ Bey, on the popular CTV show, The Listener. But Esmer won’t only be recognized for being a supernatural paramedic’s best friend for much longer.
The 32-year-old actor will host the highly-anticipated, Wipeout Canada, which premieres Sunday night on TVtropolis, alongside his co-anchor Jonathan Torrens (of Trailer Park Boys fame) and field reporter, Jessica Phillips (Republic of Doyle and Being Erica).
So what does Esmer love the most about working on Wipeout Canada so far?
“I think it’s realizing the lifelong dream of making fun of people for falling down,” said the actor, adding that his favourite challenge on the course is, “watching the contestants try to salvage their dignity, while being ridiculed.”
The dignity Esmer speaks of is often illusive on the hilariously difficult four-round course, as contestants attempt tackling obstacles like the dizzy dummy, the sucker punch wall and the wipeout zone to try and score the $50,000 grand prize. Of the winning sum, Esmer said there are a lot of reasons why people compete for the money.
“Some want it to put their kids through school, some to pay off debt. One person wanted to go on a shopping spree at Costco,” he said. “I don’t know how you could spend $50,000 at Costco though.”
I’m not sure either, but clearly someone who is willing to spend $50,000 shopping at the ultimate bulk store must be a character – as many of the contestants who appear on Wipeout, are.
“I think people just really want to be on television,” said Esmer, “almost more than they want the money. There’s a wide-range of physical specimens on the show, some real characters. And there are definitely contestants who try to make themselves stand out as villains.”
