After being signed to Pitbull’s record label Mr. 305 Inc., 27-year old up and coming hip hop artist Jamie Drastik has come out with his debut single “Chasing Shadows” and it’s a good one. The song offers a catchy pop/hip-hop sound that will have you up and moving. Having collaborated with Pitbull and Havana Brown on the song, it has all the makings of being an instant hit for the newcomer and possibly a summer anthem.
LISTEN TO “CHASING SHADOWS” BY JAMIE DRASTIK FEAT. PIT BULL AND HAVANA BROWN BELOW:
The time has come! Pitbull is finally in the remote city of Kodiak Alaska, after being exiled by an Internet campaign. As much as we like to give the guy a hard time, you have to admit Pitbull was a good sport about it. He went to Kodiak, received a key to the city from Mayor Pat Branson and tweeted a photo of him holding a child alongside Alutiiq dancers. The tweet said: ”Thank U Kodiak … I am honoured, truly.” Best of all, he looked incredibly awkward watching Alutiiq Dancers performing a traditional routine.
At least we’re assured he’s safe from the bears that ravage the land, considering he received a care package yesterday from Wal-Mart that included bear repellant spray and bear bells used by hikers to make noise.
If you don’t know the back story, Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull) agreed to visit the Wal-Mart that got the most likes on its Facebook page. Writer/troller extraordinaire David Thorpe thought it would be HILARZ if Pitbull was forced to go to a remote location (because it is hilarious), so everyone followed suit.
But even Thorpe was impressed as he tweeted: ”Just met Pitbull. He shook my hand and said ‘Keep bulls***ting. Next thing you know we’ll be on the moon.” Okay, that’s a good line. Pitbull deserves some credit, am I right?
Watch it here:
It’s arguable whether his fans or haters are sending him there, but Pitbull is being exiled to a REMOTE bear-infested Island of Alaska, called Kodiak, for a personal appearance.
Wal-Mart started an online contest on its Facebook page a while ago: whichever store got the most likes would be subjected to graced with a visit from Armando Christian Perez (that’s Pitbull).
Meanwhile, a writer for The Boston Phoenix named David Thorpe thought it would be HILARZ to send Pitbull to the most remote Wal-Mart possible. ENTER KODIAK. Through Facebook, Twitter (#exilePitbull) and various media outlets Thorpe encouraged people to “like” the Wal-Mart in Kodiak, earning it 70,000 “likes,” even though the population of the Island is just over 13,000.
To Pitbull’s credit, he kept a good sense of humor over the whole incident and tweeted:
Pitbull even uploaded a YouTube video from his tour leg in Madrid, addressing the prankster. ”You gotta understand that I would go anywhere in the world for my fans,” he said. In the end the joke is on Thorpe because Pitbull invited him along for the appearance in Kodiak… and that’s a LONG flight.

The full audio version of Jennifer Lopez’s single ‘Dance Again’ has FINALLY debuted on YouTube after weeks of sneak peaks and snippets of photos.
Featuring quick electro beats and rapid clapping, I get the feeling this song will be quite successful on the dance floor.
In the song, JLo sings, “Nobody knows what I’m feeling inside. I find it so stupid so why should I hide that I love to make love to you baby.”
Collaborating with Pitbull again (they last worked together on the terribly catchy “On the Floor”), I’d say this duo knows how to work together!
But, it sure seems to me that Pitbull collaborates with everyone. He’s pretty much in every song nowadays.
What do you think of the song?

It’s nearly patio weather and I think we’re all trying scope out the new song for spring/summer. I don’t know if Sean Paul’s new song will be it but it certainly has that Latin twist. “She Doesn’t Mind” is perfect for a sunny day at the beach: ”Girl, I got you so high / And I know you like / So come on push it on me / If it feels alright / Put it, drop it low and break it off / No, she doesn’t mind/ Aight, she doesn’t mind, aight, she doesn’t mind.” Yikes, he really goes there!!
The official remix also features Pitbull. What do you think of it?
There’s a fine line between sampling a song and straight ripping off someone else’s artistic integrity. Imitation is recognized as the highest form of flattery – but at what point does it go too far?
Most recently, Madonna finally spoke out about her insane influence of Lady Gaga, with focus on ‘Born This Way‘ and it’s similarity with Madge’s 1989 hit ‘Express Yourself’. And in the spirit of that buzz – we’re delighted to bring you a little sampling, thirteen songs that famously ripped off others (and were pretty successful in their own right). Some of which dealt with court settlements and others were able to slip through the legal cracks. For those arguing that the likes of Hammer and Vanilla Ice had the right to sample – both were busted by the predecessors for their use. Ice even argued in an episode of VH1′s ‘Behind the Music’ that it was completely original and the sampling accusations were bogus.
Tell us what you think! Below are thirteen examples, first being the song that ripped off the following song:
Jennifer Lopez “On The Floor (Ft. Pitbull)” VS. Los Kjarkas “Lloranda se fue”
You all know you loved Mashup-Germany’s mix of the best songs of the year.
Now, DJ McFly is bringing you a Billboard Hot 100 mash-up that will blow you mind, and your eardrums!
Chicago native DJ McFly’s mix samples every song which reached the Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 in January, February and March of this year. This includes Katy Perry’s “Firework” and “On The Floor” by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull.
Not only does McFly mash-up the songs, but he also mixes up the video that’s really blowing up on YouTube. Have a listen, have a look. Cheers to a great year in music.
In Pitbull’s track “Give Me Everything,” he makes some unflattering comments about Lindsay Lohan. Now Lohan is suing.
The lyric which is causing the controversy is:
Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein’, to keep flowin’
I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.
Lindsay is claiming in her lawsuit … “the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.”
TMZ reports Lohan is trying to stop Pitbull from broadcasting or performing the song.
Pitbull and Marc Anthony have joined forces for Pitbull’s latest track, “Rain Over Me.”
The video shows the two singers in the desert before a major rainfall.
“People need to escape from everything that’s going on. So I’m more than blessed to be a part of this summer and the great music out there,” Pitbull recently told MTV News.
The cover art and collaborators list for Pitbull’s upcoming album ‘Planet Pit’ has been released, reports Perez Hilton.
Featured artists on the upcoming Pitbull album will include Marc Anthony, Chris Brown, T-Pain, Ne-Yo, Kelly Rowland, and Sean Paul.
All-star producers that have collaborated on ‘Planet Pit’ include Afrojack, Benny Blanco, Dr. Luke, Max Martin, David Guetta, RedOne,Polow Da Don and DJ Frank E.
That’s one hell of a team, the album is sure to impress.
Here’s what Pitbull, aka Armando Christian Pérez, had to say about his upcoming album via press release:
“It embodies a bit of everywhere I’ve been. I’m trying to be the ambassador; the bridge builder who brings elements from all over the world and puts it all together so it sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard before.”
“When the congas are pounding and the bass is thumping behind me, nothing can touch me,” adds Pitbull.
The album is expected to drop in June 2011.
Jennifer Lopez has torn up the dance floor with her latest single featuring Pitbull, and is gearing up to blow up the music charts once more with her upcoming single, “I’m Into You.”
The music video for the second single off her upcoming album, Love?, is set to premier on May 2 – just two days before the much anticipated release of the album – and will feature non other than the young wheezy himself, Lil Wayne!
According to MTV News, pictures have been released from the set of the new video. “In one photo,” reports MTV, “J.Lo is seen standing in a very little black dress and thigh-high boots, looking fiercely into the camera. Wayne is standing next to her, also in all black, checking the time on his watch. In another shot, the pair stands back to back, in the same outfits, both looking like they are deep in thought.”
The video was filmed at Chichen Itza in Mexico, where J.Lo was spotted “sitting atop the steps of the historic pyramid, glaring seductively, with her legs crossed, as a camera crew hovers below her. She was wearing a long snake-print sundress with matching bracelets and headband.” Seems like there will be a lot of “seductive-glaring” going on in this video – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Can’t wait to see what J.Lo has whipped us for us next – are you excited to see the new music video?
People magazine’s has officially revealed Jennifer Lopez as their “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” of 2011 (although Gossip Cop have already disclosed this information three days ago. Good job, People!), and we couldn’t have thought of a better candidate.
Although her comeback is just beginning, she has already excelled in her role as American Idol judge, and has put out a chart-stopping hit, “On the Floor,” featuring Pitbull that also marked her debut release with Island Def Jam Music.
But Lopez, 41, stays humble as she accepts People’s title of Most Beautiful. “The thing is, it’s part of my job,” Lopez explains to People on keeping up her “beautiful” image. ”I don’t want anybody thinking it’s easy. It does take time and it’s hard work. HDTV wide-screen is nobody’s friend!”
In the exclusive article, Lopez also dishes to People on being a “zero-makeup kind of mom.”
“That’s when I’m my happiest,” she says. “Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up. It’s so much better.”
Lopez also gushed about her two children, daughter Emme and son Max. “She is very girly-girl, just like me since I was very little. She loves for me to paint her nails,” says Lopez on Emme. “She lays out her clothes on the floor like I do with my stylist and she’s like, ‘This matches very good!’ ”
As for Max, Lopez revealed, ”He wants to paint his nails too. Because for him, it’s just paint. He’s like, ‘I want the blue! Then Marc is like, ‘Why are Max’s nails painted?!’ But he won’t sit still so it’s only like two nails.”
When it comes to being called a “diva,” Lopez reveals, “I kind of like it. We’ve kind of owned it now. But I certainly don’t like and I’ve never been a person who has what they call ‘diva behavior,’ which is something they tried to pin on me for a long time.”
While we agree that Lopez is a diva, we mean it in every positive way possible! The rest of the interview can be found in this week’s issue of People.

Jason Derulo gets giddy with excitement when discussing his feeling as artist with a hit debut single like Whatcha Say.
Not because of the fame that tags along with it’s no. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, or 750,000 sold copies, or invitation to join Lady Gaga on her Monster Ball Tour, but the anticipation, knowing that he hasn’t even tapped into his potential as an artist yet.
“I’m just beginning man,” Derulo tells andPOP from Los Angeles. “It’s definitely an interesting feeling. It’s almost as if I feel like people have no idea of what I can offer as an artist, the impact that I can have.”
NFL Quarterback Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated into the NFL following a 20 month stint in prison for a highly publicized dogfight scandal, reports Perez Hilton.
Vick, who is currently a free agent, may attend preseason practices, workouts and meetings. If he is signed by a team, he will be permitted to play in the final two preseason games.
He may participate in all team activities except for games once the regular football season begins, and may be back on the field for games as early as October.
