Actor Peter Boyle Dies
Peter Boyle, whose last role may be his best known – Frank Barone on “Everybody Loves Raymond” – has died at the age of 71.
E! Online reports that Boyle died last evening in a New York City hospital. He had been suffering from heart disease and multiple myeloma, a cancer that attacks plasma cells for a number of years.
Although he may be most known due to his stint on “Raymond,” Boyle also appeared in a number of other films including “Taxi Driver,” “Monster’s Ball” and “Young Frankenstein.” He is also currently appearing in “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” as Father Time.
“It’s like losing a spouse. I’m going to miss my dear friend, so unlike the character he played on television. He’s a brilliant actor, a gentleman, incredibly intelligent, wonderfully well read and a loving friend,” actress Doris Roberts, who played his wife on the hit sitcom, said in a statement.
No funeral arrangements have been announced as of yet.
