There you go again X-Factor, making me look like a crazy person sitting in an office full of guys, trying to block the tears welling up in my eyes. Contestant Bella Ferraro auditioned for Australia’s The X-Factor with an emotional performance of “Skinny Love” by Birdy, originally by Bon Iver.
Bella left high school to pursue music. She nervously auditioned for the judges on her eighteenth birthday.
There are several reasons why her performance is so touching. First, she doesn’t realize how damn talented she is. Hands shaking at times, Ferraro seemed genuinely shocked when the audience applauded her within five seconds of starting. Her supportive mom looked on from the audience, tearfully proud. All the judges, including hard-to-please Mel B, gave the contestant a deserved standing ovation.
Yesterday the UK edition of The X-Factor made me angry when I saw Pink cover artist Zoe Alexander storm off the stage upon receiving constructive criticism. But you’ve reclaimed my love, X-Factor, with Bella Ferraro.

There are a few things I can tell you after watching the One Direction promo for the VMAs. Most notable, is that it’s pretty darn cheesy, but cheesy in a good way. For one thing, a good portion of the ad is shot in slow motion, which allows your lingering gaze to settle on Harry’s messy-chic hair or consider Niall’s generally playful nature (jumping on Liam’s back, mock-punching Louis).
Then we get individual shots of each of them looking dashing enough to distract your eyes from the random, animated background behind them. The script isn’t all that engaging, but we’re like “kay whatever” because we’re not really watching for the script right?
One Direction will perform at the 2012 MTV VMAs on Sept. 6.

Yesterday marked World Humanitarian Day: “One day. One message. One goal. To inspire people all around the world to do something good, no matter how big or small, for someone else.”
Singer Beyonce Knowles works closely with the United Nations, which is something she is very passionate about, while taking a stand to encourage others to help out and give back. During the taped performance at the U.N. General Assembly on August 10, Beyonce showed a powerful force and true emotion within her performance and lyrics of the song. Behind her, was a large screen showing moments of bravery, struggle and survival.
Other celebrities such as Justin Bieber and Rihanna took their voice to Twitter:

In his spare time, 18-year-old Curtis Golden plays computer games, reads comics and collects figurines of superheroes. He describes himself as the “stereotypical nerd.” Spurred by his sisters, he also became a huge Spice Girls fan, which is why he was probably all the more nervous to audition for X-Factor UK in front of band member Mel B.
Unfortunately, Mel B branded his unexpected, countrified performance of Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman” as “annoying and irritating.” His Spice Girls memorabilia wasn’t enough to win Mel B over but his unique performance was enough to get me.
According to Metro UK, the contestant was too shy to audition in previous years but finally decided to go for it after surviving a serious car accident. He told them that after something like that happens, “you kind of stop giving a c**p.”
Watch below to see if he ended up getting through.
Before One Direction, The Wanted and Big Time Rush, one of the hottest boy bands in the music scene was none other than 98 Degrees.
Making their reunion official on August 17 with a special performance on ‘TODAY’, the boy group consisting of Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons treated fans to live renditions of ‘The Hardest Thing’, ‘Because of You’, ‘I Do’ and ‘Invisible Man.’ The concert, marked the group’s first television appearance in over 10 years.
“In the 10 years since our last performance as 98 Degrees we’ve each achieved personal success and grown as individuals, while remaining a close-knit family,” the band said in a press release in July. “We have also been fortunate to have the support and enduring love of our fans every step of the way. With so much to celebrate, this reunion is going to be one big party, so whether you tune in to the ‘Today Show’ or join us at the MixTape Festival, everyone’s invited.”
EEEEEE! How exciting is this? As a 90s child, a 98 Degrees reunion will certainly bring back some nostalgic feelings. Now if only N Sync would get back together…that would just be the cherry on top.

Here’s why Korean bodyguards are better than any others. This one surprised an entire stadium when he joined the Doosan Bears cheerleaders halfway through their performs of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” and OWNED the choreography . Not only does he keep up with the cheerleaders, he has the lowest split out of all of them!
We’ve heard tons of awesome One Direction covers lately but we’ve got room for another one if it’s Rita Ora. The stylish singer visited BBC Radio 1 “Live Lounge” and covered “What Makes You Beautiful.” The song is just as chirpy as the original but changes the instrumentation with some maracas and a tropical sounding guitar and drum solo in the middle.
Ora also performed an acoustic version of her single “How We Do (Party).” We only have a couple weeks to go until her debut album ORA drops, but these performances will satiate us in the meantime.

Those who want to make a lifestyle change like Kelly Clarkson will be glad to know she doesn’t have any secret diet plans. All she needed to get back into shape was simply eat healthier.
“There’s no secret!” she says. “It’s just trying to eat a little better and work out a little more.”
Clarkson, who will be on a new show called Duets, reportedly saw how heavy she looked on TV. She was then inspired to get back into shape.
But keep in mind that Clarkson doesn’t care what size she is.
As she quips, “No matter what size I am, I love performing no matter how big or little I am! I feel good.”
I’m so proud of you, Kelly. We’re happy you’re taking on a healthy lifestyle, but we love it when you perform no matter what!
Cody Simpson joined us at a secret location downtown Toronto, where he sat down for an exclusive interview with @Jordans_life and played a couple songs for 50 of his biggest fans. He performed “Got Me Good” and “Wish U Were Here,” which are both off his new EP “Preview To Paradise.” Cody’s Angels were fan-girling hardcore but lucky enough for them, Cody took the time to sign autographs and take pictures with them! What a gentleman.

Jamie Lynn doesn’t have to look far for inspiration.
Performing a little showcase in Nashville on Thursday, the former Zoey 101 star sang a song she wrote to someone close to her heart: her big sis Britney.
“I’m so happy to have all of y’all here, thank y’all for coming out tonight,” said the 21-year-old mom to her audience. “This next song is called ‘I Look Up to You,’ and you can imagine who I wrote it about, so I hope y’all like it a lot.”
With lyrics like: “Scared little girl living on a big old world / You’ve outgrown your room / It all happened way too soon,” the song has nice country vibe to it.
Personally, I love this side of Jamie. Her and Britney have always been close to one another, despite sharing a lot of ups and downs over the past few years.
But while Jamie’s life hasn’t always been perfect, she definitely shows promise as a country star. Showing that she’s all grown up, I love the fact that Jamie is taking on a different genre in the music industry. It really suits her!

Always the one to pull a shocking stunt, Lady Gaga has done it again.
While performing on her Born This Way ball tour in Bangkok, the eccentric singer has upset an official from Thailand’s Culture Ministry after using the country’s national flag during a performance last month.
During her song “Heavy Metal Lover”, Gaga transformed into the motorcycle that appears on the cover of her “Born This Way” album.
And wearing next to nothing, the singer tied Thailand’s flag to the back of the human motorbike and rode around the stage.
In an interview with the Associated Press, the official called Gaga’s usage of the nation’s flag “not appropriate and hurt the feelings of the Thai people.”
While we’ve seen Gaga do things a lot crazier (*cough meat dress, blue armpit hair), it would definitely be useful for her to be aware of the cultural taboos of other countries before pulling any stunts.

There are a few benefits of being the opening act on One Direction’s sold out North American tour, like Olly Murs. As if it’s not cool enough that the fellow Brit and X Factor alum is stealing the hearts of 1D’s INSANE fan base, he got to have a backstage, impromptu jam sesh with cutie Niall Horan.
Our heart was already exploding for his a capella version of “Heart Skips A Beat” but then the camera panned to Niall Horan with a guitar. Sitting on a toilet.
Like this:

“Heart Skips A Beat” is Murs’ debut single and he doesn’t need any help from 1D to convince us he’s talented. The guys filmed the performance backstage at a recent gig in Toronto and posted it online later.

Seeing that Beyonce gave birth only about five months ago, she sure got back into shape really quickly!
In a video from her concert at the Revel casino and resort (the first of four nights she’s performing at the venue), the glamourous singer delivered amazing performances while singing hits like “Halo” and “Single Ladies” while wearing stunning, form-fitting dresses.
Bey is truly a woman I admire!
And it appears that I’m not the only one who’s amazed by the singer. Jay-Z, showing what a supportive husband he is, praised his wife on Twitter.

This girl sure has a set of pipes! Demi Lovato gave a flawless live performance of some songs off her third album, called Unbroken. The Lovatic fan favourites she performed were “Give Your Heart a Break,” “Catch Me,” “Don’t Forget,” “My Love Is Like a Star” (Demz fav!), “Skyscraper” and for the first time ever acoustically, “Fix a Heart.”
Between songs, Demi shared with her fans: “I get so nervous in front of smaller audiences than I do with tons of people, and I think because it’s so much more intimate.” She kicks off her US summer tour June 21.

I think I’m liking this bromance.
With Academy-award nominated actor Gary Oldman directing Jack White’s American Express UNSTAGED performance, that itself sounds epic and legendary enough.
But after watching the two get into a little play fight in this video, I think I’m sold on their bromance. White even accidentally makes Gary bleed :O!!! Luckily enough, he’s is forgiving.
I wish they would collaborate some more already! Perhaps they can do a song together?
We all know Jack can sing, but so can Gary!

Selena Gomez revealed to her fans that she intends to focus on acting for a little while but she still took time to perform “Hit the Lights” with her band The Scene on Dancing with the Stars.
Selena looks GORG in her gold and black strapless dress and we love her bedazzled mic. However, the song doesn’t really showcase her voice. In fact, we can barely hear her! The music and her background singers are so loud her voice is nearly drowned out.
Watch the performance here:

Songbird Ellie Goulding performed “Lights” on Ellen today, from her CD of the same name, and her performance just confirms that the Brits are on a roll. After her performance Ellen said she loves the song and Ellie — who was still on a music high — looked like she couldn’t believe she was there.
It was recently announced that Ellie and her boyfriend Skrillex will be recording with Swedish House Mafia for her new album. Only good things can come of this collaboration!
Watch her performance below:

Justin Bieber made a special appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show today to introduce his artist Carly Rae Jepsen.
After her performance of “Call Me Maybe,” Carly and Justin sat down with Ellen and shared how the record deal came along. Justin said he first heard her song on the radio in Canada [cue cheers]. When he was told she was available, Justin decided to call her up and offer her a record contract — like it’s an everyday thing.
Justin also premiered 15 seconds of his new song “Boyfriend.” Ellen tried to predict the melody a couple weeks ago, though thankfully her ability to predict the future was off because his version of the song sounds much better.
So far, Justin has been the best promotion Carly has ever gotten. Her song is catchy on its own, but Justin has wisely used social media to showcase “Call Me Maybe.” His girlfriend Selena Gomez tweeted a photo of him smiling at Carly’s song and he also called up a bunch of his conveniently famous friends to create a homemade music video, which has more than triple the views than the one Carly made. So the promotion goes both ways…

RiRi has been spending a lot of time in London recently and made a stop at The Jonathan Ross Show to talk about stalking Adele, celebrity rivalries and a supposed meltdown in Ireland.
Rihanna talked about how she came to Britain exclusively to see Adele perform at the Brits, because her heart “quivers” for her. Ross attempted to pry into her dating life (asking if she’s a player) but avoided Chris Brown like kryptonite… he even suggested she go for an older man like himself. [CUE LAUGH TRACK]

Jonathan Ross awkwardly told Rihanna she’s a minx/sexpot on stage, which was ultimately proven when she went in front of his desk and shook her hiney, nearly giving the poor guy a heart attack.
