Hollywood star PENELOPE CRUZ is planning to ditch drama and try her hand at a movie adaptation of a popular musical.

The Spanish star loved watching NICOLE KIDMAN in MOULIN ROUGE and CATHERINE ZETA-JONES in CHICAGO – and wants to use the skills she learned as a young dancer.

Cruz says, “My hope someday is to do a musical, like Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge! She was so great. I could use all my dancing.”
