Paul Newman’s Will Revealed To The Public

Almost two months after his late death due to cancer at 83-years-old, Paul Newman’s will has been revealed to the public, detailing the appropriate information that the legendary actor chose to do with his possessions.

According to MTV News, his wife Joanne claimed the majority of the belongings, as Newman left real estate holdings, musical instruments, works of art and his production companies.

In the 18 page instructions, Newman who passed away on September 27, also left his three Oscars and various other theatrical awards, including an Emmy, three Golden Globes and a Screen Actors Guild Award, among others, to his Newman’s Own Foundation.

Newman who was also an avid driver, wrote to leave items such as his airplane and race cars to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, and the proceeds going back to his estate.

Additionally, the ever-generous actor directed that his interest in the Newman-founded Newman’s Own and Salad King companies were to be directed back to his Newman’s Own Foundation, which would in turn distribute the profits to charity.

Tinseltown lost a bit of historic sparkle last night, as Oscar winning actor Paul Newman, died in his home at the age of 83 years old, due to cancer, said a spokesperson from CNN.

Newman, who starred in a variety of popular pieces such as “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, “Exodus”, “Cool Hand Luke”, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, “The Sting” and “The Color of Money” was also well known for his heavy involvement as a philanthropist and received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 1994 Oscars.

His food company, “Newman’s Own”, donated all of the company’s after taxes profits to charity, which at the time of his death, is estimated to be more than $200 million over 15 years. Newman was also an avid supporter for “Hole in the Wall Gang Camp”, which he founded with author A.E. Hotchner in 1988. The camp provides camping experiences free-of-charge for children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses and helps to support their families.

Born January 26th, 1925, Newman’s career as an actor began with a small role in the Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway play “Picnic”. However, it wasn’t until the mid-1950’s, after moving to Hollywood from Shaker Heights, Ohio, when he started to land star roles in movies such as his claim to fame, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” (1958).

A slew of classic films would follow in the next decade such as “Sweet Bird of Youth,” “Hud,” and “Cool Hand Luke.”

“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “The Sting”, another pair the actor’s prime time performances, would be two films which were among the highest grossing of the era.

However, after 20 years in the industry and receiving seven Oscar nominations, the actor finally claimed his overdue little gold man in 1986 as Best Actor for his portrayal of “Fast” Eddie Felson in “The Color of Money”.

Newman would go on to rank a total of 10 Oscar nominations throughout his career.

Paul Newman Dying of Lung Cancer

Paul Newman is dying of lung cancer, reports the Daily Star.

Newman is a former chain-smoker. He is said to be receiving outpatient care from a hospital in Manhattan.

Newman and his wife, Oscar winner Joanna Woodward, have three daughters. The family is said to be devastated by the news.

The legendary actor is said to be keeping the extent of his illness under wraps. His rep has refused to comment on Newman’s condition.

Newman retired from acting last May.

Paul Newman Plans Film Farewell

Legendary actor Paul Newman has said that his next film could be the final chapter of his influential career.

“I will probably have one film left in me – the last hurrah,” the 81-year-old told the BBC. “When it’s time to get out, it’s time to get out.”

He said he has a project in mind, but gave no specific details.

Newman spoke of his career plans while on a fundraising campaign for Hole in the Wall Camps, a group of retreats for gravely ill children that Newman co-founded.

The actor has made more than 50 films, including classics like “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “Slap Shot.”

Most recently, Newman voiced a character in Pixar’s CGI-fest, “Cars.”

Paul Newman Back Onscreen in ‘Cars’

It’s been four years since Paul Newman appeared on movie theatre screens, but what better way to make a return that as a CGI automobile.

The 81-year-old acting great voices the character ‘Doc Hudson’ in the Disney/Pixar animated feature “Cars,” which hits theatres this week.

“I wanted to be the first animated character on screen to demonstrate method acting,” Newman told Reuters before last week’s premiere. “Making an animated film was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I didn’t have to go on location for a long period of time. I didn’t have to deal with temperamental actors or wait a long time for the lights to be set up.”

That still doesn’t make it okay for Butch Cassidy to play a freaking cartoon car. But I digress?

The movie follows the path of Lightning McQueen, a hot-shot racecar sentenced to community service after a traffic accident. As he works his way back to the racetrack, McQueen learns the true meaning of family and friendship. Vroom vroom.

“Cars” opens in theatres nationwide on Friday June 9.
