We are all familiar with this pandemic. We complain, gripe and moan about these starlets every move, but never admit that we revel in watching them struggle. We love them for their inability to maintain a clean slate, and in contrast, their remarkable ability to infiltrate our daily conversations.

5) Angelina Jolie

Why do females hate Angelina Jolie? There is one reason: jealousy. Not only did she steal Brad Pitt from his “golden marriage,” she also happens to be one of the most beautiful women in the world and has the nerve to be happy with her ever-increasing family. Why do males hate Angelina Jolie? Because they can’t have her.

4) Lindsay Lohan

The thing that bothers me about Lindsay Lohan is the amount of paparazzi intently tracking the once-adorable ”Parent Trap” starlet. At least with the other celebrity women, their attempts at comebacks are remotely applaudable. With Lohan, it’s a constant string of oh-so-dramatic personal issues th…eyt barrage society at regular intervals. Hate almost wouldn’t be the proper adjective, perhaps simmering resentment, or merely a lack of interest.

3) Miley Cyrus / Hannah Montana

I don’t know which one people hate more. The nasal Miley Cyrus who inexplicably irks most people, or her alter-ego, the spunky, G-rated Hannah Montana. There is no fortified explanation for the vast hate directed towards this celebrity, but her general personality seems to do it for most people. Let’s put into consideration that she performed next to the flawless Taylor Swift at the Grammy’s, that can’t be helpful for anyone’s image.

2) Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton is the perfect example of an individual that made it big without truly demonstrating an aptitude for anything valuable. Her signature “that’s hot” catchphrase become a disturbing worldwide phenonenon, and even worse was the masses of tweens bearing this two-letter phrase on their department store t-shirts. Nobody will willingly admit to loving Paris /Hilton, but everyone knows this girl has got it figured out, and they just want to know the big secret.

1) Britney Spears

I feel as though an explanation isn’t necessary. Personally, I have never met an individual without their own input on the infallibly chaotic Spears. From overnight marriages in Vegas, to marriages with questionable back-up dancers and bald stint, Spears is certainly one to keep the public guessing. Essentially, you can draw your own conclusions, but Spears was right when she choose “Circus” as the focal point of her 2008 comeback.

Contrary to what Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen Twins, Brittany Flickinger or, more recently, Samuel Hextall might think, Paris Hilton is my new best friend.

She has a lot going for her and more. From beauty, brains and success, Paris has everything that women around the world envy.

Sigh.

And while many critics constantly bash this “underrated” socialite I, for one, just love her. Yes I do!

So it should come as no surprise that I can only hope that, someday, actresses like Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and all those other non-drinkers and sane stars will take a cue and follow the footsteps of this wonderful being.

With great…pleasure, here are just a few reasons why I just adore Paris:

5) Her movie career kicks butt: I’m still shocked that Paris has yet to be nominated for something other than a Razzie. Her performance in ‘One Night in Paris’ (from what I hear) was raw and real. According to those who have seen it, she’s a great actress. But it doesn’t stop there. In her more recent roles ‘The Hottie & The Nottie’ and ‘Repo! The Genetic Opera,’ Paris proves that she has talent beyond those certain “jobs” in the bedroom.

4) Her television shows: Again, Paris really knows how to treat people well. In both ‘Paris Hilton’s My New BFF’ and ‘Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend’, countless of Paris wannabees went through innumerable humiliating experiences (including ones that made them cry AND vomit) just to prove they were worthy of the socialite’s presence. Tragically, Paris seems to dump the season finale winner the moment the finale airs. Aw, BFF indeed!

3) Her intelligence: Okay so there isn’t much to say here. But “That’s hawt!” anyway.

2) Her “wild” ways: Just because she has seen and spent some time inside a jail cell, it doesn’t mean she deserved it! During those days, she had to endure life without a cell phone, a housekeeper and her credit card. Yup, it’s a hard life when you’re a socialite.

1) Her socialite status: This is why I really admire Paris. Sure she has a few of her own successful businesses under her belt but she couldn’t have done it without her high-profile last name. This means she actually had to work (a bit) to prove to people that she’s more than just brains and beauty. Hm, I’m assuming it’s still a work in progress?

As you see, my love for Paris is quite deep and…real. If I ever have children and they are remotely as successful, talented and beautiful as Paris or happen to portray the same moral standards as her, well then I will be sure to never have any.

Golden Raspberry Nominations

Actor and comedian Mike Myers is “winning” in Golden Raspberry Nominations this year. His 2008 comedy “The Love Guru” earned five nominations in the award ceremony that honours the worst in Hollywood filmmaking.

Among the nominations for the film were Worst Acting nods for Myers, Jessica Alba (who also scored a nomination for her performance in “The Eye”), Verne Troyer and Academy Award Winner Ben Kingsley.

But the “Love Guru” isn’t in this alone, “The Hottie and the Nottie” also scored five nominations, two of which belong to Paris Hilton: one for Worse Actress, the other for being one-half of 2008’s Worst Screen Couple. Hilton also earned a nomination for Worst Supporting Actress for her role in “Repo: The Genetic Opera.”

One of the films with the most Golden Raspberry nods this year is “Disaster Movie,” which earned six nominations, including Worst Picture and one for Screenplay.

Other nominees include Eddie Murphy, Kate Hudson, Kim Kardashian, Ashton Kutcher, Pierce Brosnan, among others.

“National Lampoon” Suing Paris

Believe it or not, paid-to-party hotel heiress, Paris Hilton is being sued for not being in the media spotlight.

According to CTV.ca, Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. is suing Hilton for not keeping her contractual obligations during her role in 2006’s “National Lampoon’s Pledge This!”.

The company claims that in 2004 they paid Hilton $1 million to act in the film as well as provide “reasonable promotion and publicity”.

In return, the company says that Hilton starred in the film and was credited as an executive producer.

The company is asking for $75,000 in damages.

Hilton’s publicist hasn’t yet responded to the suit.

Paris Hilton to Obama and McCain: ‘See You at the Debate, Bitches’

Paris Hilton thinks running for president is “totally hot.” So she is.

The heiress to the Hilton Empire has fired back at a 30-second campaign ad released last week by John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate that compared Barack Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, calling all three “frivolous and irresponsible.”

So the “loves it” Hilton is firing back with her own fake campaign ad hosted on FunnyorDie.com.

In Hiton’s campaign ad, she calls McCain “old and wrinkly” and offers a better plan to end the energy crisis than Obama and McCain. “We can do offshore limited drilling with strict environmental oversight,” she says while lying on a beach chair in her bikini. “See you at the debates, bitches,” she says.

McCain’s ad released last week has created a storm of controversy. Hilton’s parents have also donated money to McCain’s presidential campaign in the past.

At the end of the ad, Paris Hilton says she might paint the White House pink and approves the ad, stating: “I’m Paris Hilton and I approve this message. Because I think it’s totally hot.”

Britney and Paris Join Presidential Campaign

Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Barack Obama. One of these is not like the other.

The former two are more than just underwear-bearing party girls and paparazzi fodder. They are now campaign tools, thanks to John McCain. A campaign that has critics saying “Oh my god, that Johnny’s shameless.”

In a new 30-second spot called “Celeb,” John McCain’s presidential campaign takes a jab at Barack Obama’s celebrity status by comparing his fame to that of Hilton and Spears. The ad’s narrator states: “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world. But is he ready to lead? With gas prices soaring, Barack Obama says no to offshore drilling and says he’ll raise taxes on electricity. Higher taxes, more foreign oil – that’s the real Obama.”

During a conference call, Rick Davis, McCain’s campaign manager, said that the ad’s intended effect was to make Obama seem “frivolous and irresponsible,” like our two favourite blondes. Davis’ comments are rather ironic considering McCain has expressed his gratitude for Heidi Montag, another famous blonde and star of MTV’s The Hills, who publicly endorsed McCain earlier this year.

“I’m honored to have Heidi’s support and I want to assure her that I never miss an episode of The Hills, especially since the new season started,” McCain told Time.

“Will people think of this as negative advertising? Look, it is the most entertaining thing I have seen on TV in a while. … It is not our campaign that is trying to make him into an international celebrity. It’s his campaign. … I don’t know Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, but they are international celebrities, so, you know, apples to apples,” Davis said in the conference call.

Barack Obama’s team fired back, with a spokesman for the Obama campaign saying, “On a day when major news organizations across the country are taking Senator McCain to task for a steady stream of false, negative attacks, his campaign has launched yet another. Or, as some might say, ‘Oops! He did it again.’”

It is not known whether or not Hilton or Spears had approved the usage of their images in the new campaign.

Paris Hilton Feels like a Grown-Up

Paris Hilton feels like a grown-up now—thanks to her current romance with rock star Benji Madden—reports People magazine.

“I think my whole life I was kind of living as a teenager and not really taking responsibility,” said Hilton in a statement to the magazine. “Now I realize that I’m an adult and I’m running a huge company and I’m in love. I’m in a great relationship. I have my family. I’m just excited for life.”

But does Hilton feel grown up enough to get married?

“I don’t know,” she says. “We’re so in love and so happy right now and it’s only been like six months. So we’ll see what happens, but we’re so in love and so happy and things have never been better. I finally have a nice guy.”

In the meantime, the couple is making music together in the studio. “We just wrote together,” Hilton said. “I had a whole recording studio in my house and so we’ve been working there every night. We wrote together on two songs for my “Best Friends” show.”

Paris Writes Her Own Theme Song

It seems that Paris Hilton and her musician boyfriend Benji Madden are inseparable. So much so that the couple is now working together to write the theme song for Hilton’s new MTV show “My New BFF” reports E! News.

“Benji and I have been working hard on it,” Paris said. “He’s helping me write the lyrics for the song and then I’ll sing it, too.”

Not only is Hilton penning a song for her new show, but the socialite also wants to work on her new album.

“I’ll have another album come out, for sure. I just don’t know when yet. I only have the summer off, then I’ll be taping another season of BFF. But an album is something I’ll do.”

Paris Hilton Donates To Deck Out Hospital Room

Paris Hilton really is making steps to become a better person.

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles announced yesterday that the famous socialite made an “extremely generous” donation to the construction of a new 460,000-square-foot medical tower.

Hospital officials didn’t specify just how “generous” she was, but the money will be used to deck out a double-patient room in the new Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases–turning the hospital room into a Hilton.

“The fabulous new hospital facilities at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles will provide a caring, healing environment for children and their families for many years to come,” said Hilton in a statement.

“I am proud to make a donation and lend my name to the fundraising effort to help children who are facing terribly serious illnesses.”

The 27-year-old socialite also said the children she met through her involvement with the hospital “truly touched” her heart.

Hilton first started her volunteer work with the Childrens Hospital after her 23-day stint in the slammer last year. She was sent behind bars for violating probation on charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license.

The Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases is slated to open in 2010.

Is Paris Hilton Pregnant?

Rumours that Paris Hilton was pregnant began flying when the socialite was spotted out with boyfriend Benji Madden sporting what onlookers described as a “baby bump.”

The couple had arrived to Crown Bar in Los Angeles when bystanders caught a glimpse of Hilton’s apparent swollen stomach.

“Paris definitely looked a lot bigger than she usually looks,” said an onlooker. “She is either pregnant or had eaten a massive meal!”
Hilton’s rep, however, denies the reports and claims the rumours are “false.”

Earlier this year, Hilton expressed her desire to get pregnant soon: “I do want a baby, pretty soon. Not yet because I’m so busy, but next year.”
