Remy Ma may have cried when a judge sentenced her to prison until her April 23 sentencing for convicted assault, but happier days seem to be in the rapper’s near future.

Ma’s longtime?but only recently public?boyfriend rapper Papoose has not only come clean about his relationship with Remy but also told MTV that the couple and had planned to marry next month.

He said the rhyming duo will go ahead with their wedding plans and although it may not be as glamourous as expected, arrangements are being made for the couple to marry in prison.

“We always wanted to keep our personal lives personal, so that’s why we never went public with our relationship,” Papoose wrote in an e-mail to MTV News, according to MTV.ca. “Yes, we were scheduled to be married on a yacht April 27th. But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now making arrangements to be married in prison.”

Remy Ma’s was charged for assault after leaving a party last July. She and Makeda Barnes-Joseph argued outside the birthday party as Remy claimed Barnes-Joseph robbed several thousand dollars from her. A struggle ensued and Barnes-Joseph was shot. Ma fled the scene but was caught after crashing her SUV nearby.

In his email to MTV, Papoose begged fans to support his fiancée by writing letters to a judge requesting a shortened sentence for Remy.

“All her supporters who feel Remy had an influence on their life should write a short letter to the judge asking for the shortest sentence possible,” he wrote. “Send it to LettersForRemy@gmail.com.”
