After teasing us on Twitter and offering some behind the scenes footage that made us all swoon, Olly Murs has finally released the video for his latest single “Dear Darlin’.” Hooray!
The video is all about Olly and his girlfriend moving into their new apartment when sadly the relationship goes south. Relationships are all about communication and in the video the two try to do just that by communicating their feelings through a letter but neither can find the right words. While on a stroll, his girlfriend reads lyrics like: “I miss you” and “These arms our yours to hold,” written in various places when she thinks up exactly what to say. Who wouldn’t be inspired by messages like that?
The video is amazing and does not fall short in brooding, pensive shots of the dashing 29-year-old who dons his famous suspenders and jean jacket throughout the video. Just remember to breath while watching it.
Missed our live stream with Olly Murs? Watch him teach ANDPOP’s Simon Mohos how to kick it like a pro HERE!
From the minute the video starts, Olly has us swooning as he slowly walks up to the camera, guitar in hand and begins singing his latest single “Dear Darlin’.” Olly, why you gotta tease us like that?
In this behind the scenes video, Olly gives fans a look into his latest music video. We see a lot of footage of the Brit doing his best brooding look for the cameras and punching walls as he goes through a bit of a tiff with his love interest. He also offers some insight into the meaning of the song and how it’s all about sending letters to someone you miss and want back in your life. He describes the video as “sad, lonely and dark.” Aw, Olly! If you’re sad, we are more than happy to offer you a big old hug.
The video looks amazing and I know I speak for the entire #MURSARMY when I say that we can’t wait to see the video in its entirety.

I’m crouched in an office, mid-morning, with my cellphone cradled between my arm and shoulder talking to Olly Murs about the CIA-drama Homeland. The UK singer and X-Factor runner-up, who’s making his North American debut this April, says he often throws the show on to help him relax before gigs — tonight he’s taking Nottingham.
“I’ve never seen Homeland,” I tell him.
“It’s soo good, you should watch it!” he raves.
I ask him what he loves about it but I’m met with an awkward lapse of silence. Before I mistake it for apathy on his part I realize the call was dropped.
I silently curse the Canadian blizzard raging outside my window (with no regard for my cell service) and wait for him to call back. FOR THE SECOND TIME. So far, our 10-minute call has been interrupted twice by poor weather, and he’s been nothing but kind about it.
“It’s okay, I completely understand!” he keeps saying.
Olly’s got a soft spot for Canada because Toronto was his first pit stop when he opened for One Direction during their “Up All Night Tour.” The guys were pretty busy most of the time so pranking was kept to a minimum, though there was that time Niall surprised him by doing his soundcheck.
It seems like there are amazing new cover artists appearing everyday. Thank you youtube for letting all these amazing talents put their work online to share with us. Nicki Wissel’s cover of Olly Mur’s “Troublemaker” is so soulful and you really see him get into the song. This guy’s voice is insane. I also love the backdrop, the laundry room makes the cover seem even more stripped down and basic.
Nicki Wissel has covers of other songs like King Of Leon’s “Sex On Fire,” Ron Pope’s “A Drop in the Ocean,” and David Guetta’s “Titanium.” He’s also German! He even has a few original songs up on his youtube channel (in German). Can we expect an EP? I hope so! Whats better than acoustic cover artists? Yep. Foreign cover artists. Did I mention he also tried out for X Factor?
I’m slightly obsessed now.

There are a few benefits of being the opening act on One Direction’s sold out North American tour, like Olly Murs. As if it’s not cool enough that the fellow Brit and X Factor alum is stealing the hearts of 1D’s INSANE fan base, he got to have a backstage, impromptu jam sesh with cutie Niall Horan.
Our heart was already exploding for his a capella version of “Heart Skips A Beat” but then the camera panned to Niall Horan with a guitar. Sitting on a toilet.
Like this:

“Heart Skips A Beat” is Murs’ debut single and he doesn’t need any help from 1D to convince us he’s talented. The guys filmed the performance backstage at a recent gig in Toronto and posted it online later.
