If you were Ashley Angel Parker from the popular group O-Town, and you had one wish, what is the one thing that you would want to do?

?Fingers crossed, we want to really host Saturday Night Live. We want to do that so bad. Our thing is sketch comedy. I have a video camera; I take it to a lot of our appearances. We have hours and hours of footage that we?ve [improvised].? Humour helps Ashley through stressful situations. ?As a group, we deal with [stress] with our humour. We?re always playing tricks on each other and trying to keep it light. We?ve gone through so many stressful situations that if we didn?t have our sense of humour, I really think we?d be insane right now. We?d be in some mental facility for the insane because we?ve really gone through a lot of stress. To add to that stress, a lot of people have watched it. We were in a fish bowl and we had a lot expected of us really quickly.?

Success has been a blessing for Parker, but there still are the drawbacks. ?I think the most difficult of the music business is probably having to travel so much,? he tells andPOP, backstage at Kiss92?s Wham Bam Thank You Jam last month. ?I?m not complaining at all because I love what I do. Not a lot of people get to do what they love to do everyday. But if there?s one draw back, it?s probably just having to travel so much, being in a different place every single day, and never being able to go home.?

Despite the hectic schedule that he and band-mates Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, and Dan Miller go through, Ashley insists that the fans make it worthwhile. ?The fans, they?re what makes it all worth it. It all comes together when we?re on stage. We could be anywhere in the world. When we get up on stage and the fans are there supporting us, that?s when all the hard work really makes it a sense of satisfaction.?

Since first talking to andPOP in February, O-Town has seen their debut CD go platinum, reach fame beyond their wildest imagination, and is currently in the middle of their second tour.

?You just can?t live life for other people,? is a life lesson Ashley says has learned. ?You got to do what makes you happy. I think for us in the beginning, there was a lot expected of us, and you can lose yourself when you do something like this. So many people expect so many things from you. But you have to really look inside yourself and what?s in your heart and you have to make decisions for you, and not for other people. I think that no matter what you do, whether it?s in the music industry, or you do something totally different. I think that?s true in life in general. [As a band,] I think we?ve really learned a lot about this industry and how it works. You come into a situation like this and you dream of doing something your whole life and you think you know how it?s supposed to go. And I think there?s a lot of things you learn. You learn about the business, you learn about yourself. You learn what it really takes to do something like this and do it successfully.?

In the crowded pop-music market, O-Town looks like they will survive, something that can be attributed to their uniqueness. ?We?re from 5 different places of the United States. The way we came together is probably the most unique that anyone?s ever seen a group come together. We were the first of our kind to come out with a TV show so that fans can get to know us so personally. Besides that, I think the music [makes us unique]. We?ve worked with Clive Davis and we feel we put together a great album of pop songs but that are versatile. When you listen to the tracks, there?s a lot of versatility in it from rock to more hip-hop sounding, to dance, to a real ballad like All Or Nothing and Baby I Would. I think we have a real diverse sound.?

Besides the dream of hosting Saturday Night Live, O-Town has big plans before recording their second album, something that Ashley isn?t thinking of just yet. ?We won?t be working on a second album for a while because we really feel like there [are] some great songs on this album that have yet to be released to radio. But there is a possible third season of MTB that?s being talked about too right now.?
