Ski and Shoot for Wii Now Available

Conspiracy Entertainment annouced Thursday the release of “Ski and Shoot’ for Nintendo Wii. The game is based on the high-speed Nordic sport of Biathlon, and players will be able to play in both single-player and multi-player modes in championship league and single-round play. Cursed Mountain Set for 2009 Release

Today, global video game developer and publisher Deep Silver announced the first details of Cursed Mountain, a survival horror game created exclusively for Nintendo Wii.

Set in the late 1980s, players will control a fearless mountaineer character as he climbs into the Himalayas to find his lost brother. As the mpuntaineer ascends the mountain, he discovers an ancient curse: the souls of the people who died in the region are stuck in the limbo of the Shadow World.

Cursed Mountain features rich visuals and breathaking views, and the entire game world can be viewed from the mountain top where the game is set. The gesture-based combat system takes full advantage of the Wii motion sensitivity, and players can use the Wii remote to look around, sense the environment, climb and fight enemies.

The Cursed Mountain video game is schedules for a worldwide release in 2009.


SEGA Announces New Sonic Game for Wii

Today, SEGA of Europe Ltd. and Sega of America, Inc. announced the upcoming release of Sonic and the Black Knight, a new Wii-exclusive video game featuring the blue hedgehog character.

Created by the Sonic Team in Japan, this innovative game brings Sonic into a medieval world and is armed with a sword, controlled by the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The game consists of a series of missions that take place in Arthurian-inspired locations, is designed to be a fast-paced game that appeals to gamers of all ages.

Sonic and the Black Knight will be available in Spring 2009.


‘Major League Eating: The Game’ Slated for July 14 Release

Today, video game publisher Mastiff announced it will be releasing the first video game based on the world of competitive eating. The game, titled “Major League Eating: The Game”, will launch exclusively on WiiWare on July 14th, 2008. The game will feature the world’s best eaters competing across a variety of foods and venues.

The game is built in very much the same way as a traditional fighting game, with characters executing offensive attacks and defensive counter moves to defeat rivals. Major League Eating: The Game requires players to master a variety of weapons including bites, burps, belches, mustard gas and jalapeño flames while eating food at a world-class pace.

The game uses the Wii remote to simulate numerous eating techniques, such as ‘the cram’, ‘the toss’ and ‘the typewriter’. Burp-offs and Hot Potato challenges during the game vary the competition between players. The game is designed for one or two players and offers an option for online play.

“Major League Eating: The Game” also features eleven of the best-known professional eaters in the world including Takeru Kobayashi, the Japanese eating phenomenon, and American Joey Chestnut, current champion of the world, along with eaters such as Tim ‘Eater X’ Janus, Patrick ‘Deep Dish’ Bertoletti, Crazy Legs Conti, Sonya ‘The Black Widow’ Thomas, and ‘The Lovely’ Juliet Lee.


Majesco Entertainment Releases Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Wii

Majesco Entertainment Company has announced additional details this week of its Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Nintendo Wii, slated for a Christmas release date.

The game will be the newest addition to the Cooking Mama franchise, and will include new 3D graphics, recipes, modes and mini-games. By using the Wii remote as a universal cooking utensil, players can simulate real cooking by chopping, grating, stirring and slicing their way through the game.

The recipes featured in the game range from parfait to shrimp au gratin. Also, mistakes in cooking procedures result in mini-games. For example, if you flip a burger too high, a mini-game begins where you must try to catch the burger in Mama’s apron with the Wii remote. New ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Game for Wii Set for Fall Release

Activision Inc. announced today the Fall 2008 release of Dancing with the Stars: Get Your Dance On! The game is a sequel to last year’s Dancing with the Stars video game. The game will be available for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS consoles.

“‘Dancing with the Stars’ is an ongoing cultural phenomenon that appeals to people of all ages. It is mainstream entertainment at its best,” said Dave Oxford from Activision Publishing, according to a press release from the company. “We feel the game is the perfect opportunity to evolve the idea of ‘active family fun’.”

The newest version of the Dancing with the Stars video game with feature new stars such as Mel B, Apolo Anton Ohno, Joey Fatone and Jennie Garth. The Wii version of the game makes the dancing more realistic, with players using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck controls to enact dance moves. The version of the game for the hand-held Nintendo DS will give players the ability to change character’s outfits and change dance partners at any time.
