She will be joining singer Jessica Simpson, menswear designer John Varvatos and host Elle Macpherson who will all be working with aspiring designers as they compete for a chance to win the title of ‘fashion star’ and a multi-million dollar contract that will allow them to start their own brands.
Richie’s fashion resume includes a House of Harlow jewelry collection, footwear, eye wear and handbag lines.

Richie, who is no stranger to rehab and a “good time,” made some comments about Sheen while co-hosting “The View.”

Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, 30, has announced he’s working on a memoir, reports Perez Hilton.
“It would be about, mostly, the big changes in my life: kids, relationships, moving to L.A., the big life changes that I’ve gone through,” he said. “I’m lightly working on one, but I don’t want to put a book out there if it’s not actually meaningful. I’m not going to go there unless I can deliver. If I put a book out, I want it to be something that matters to me. It has to be real, you can’t just put a book out, to put a book out.”
Madden,30, and girlfriend Nicole Richie, 27, are expecting their second child at the end of the summer. They already have a daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, born Jan. 11, 2008.

The happily unmarried couple welcomed daughter Harlow on January 11, 2008. Richie and Madden have been together since December 2006.
Joel Madden posted on his band’s website that he and girlfriend Nicole Richie got married over the weekend. However, “The Good Charlotte” rocker was only kidding when he wrote the blog entry “We Did It! Nicole and I Finally Got Married!!”
According to E! News, Madden decided to post the blog after receiving several calls and texts from family and friends regarding his marriage to Richie.

“So I feel really stupid even posting this, but I’ve been getting calls and texts from my family all week asking me why they weren’t invited to my wedding. Ever since walking out on the family over 10 years ago, Joel and his twin brother Benjii have not spoken to their father Roger Combs. Ever since the birth of Harlow, however, Combs says he began receiving text messages from his sons.
Recently after holding his granddaughter for the first time, Combs tells In Touch Weekly magazine: “It was a wonderful moment. She’s such a beautiful girl. I felt very proud.”
Even Richie is giving Combs some love.
“I was talking to Joel on the phone one day, and [Nicole] grabbed the phone from him and said, ‘Let me talk to him now. I want to talk to my dad,” says Combs.
What a happy family!
Joel Madden, who has a baby with Nicole Richie, says their daughter Harlow likes to listen to “The Cure.”
“She likes a lot of Disney stuff and classical. She likes Good Charlotte. And she likes her granddad [Lionel Richie]‘s music. She likes old stuff. She’s a Cure fan … She likes The Cure,” says Madden.
Madden flew to the Hamptons for the Memorial Day Weekend to DJ at La Playa in Southampton but the singer is not planning on staying.
“The Hamptons are definitely a good place to hang out for the whole summer,” Madden tells “People” magazine. “But I’m a dad now. I’d be staying if I didn’t have the girls at home. That’s why I’m going home.”
Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie both became first-time moms over the weekend — and in the same Los Angeles hospital ward to boot.
Richie, 26, whose father is singer Lionel Richie, gave birth to a daughter named Harlow Winter Kate Madden in the Cedars-Sinai hospital, according to People magazine.
The father is Richie’s boyfriend Joel Madden, lead singer of Good Charlotte.
“The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents,” said a spokesman for the couple late Friday.
Aguilera, 27, gave birth in the same ward of the hospital on Saturday. The five-time Grammy Award-winning singer confirmed the birth on her website Sunday.
“Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman are proud to announce the birth of their son Max Liron Bratman,” read the short message. “He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy.”
Aguilera and Bratman, a music executive, married in 2005.
Extremely pregnant Richie has been granted a leave of absence from her court mandated alcohol-education course.
No. It’s not a case of early graduation, as Richie has only completed three months of the 18 month requirement. Richie has been given the time off to safely prepare for and deliver her baby.
Unlike her buddy Paris Hilton, who reportedly received special treatment in prison, Richie’s reps deny the allegations that the leave of absence was granted because she is a celebrity student.
Santa Barbara’s SB 38 Multiple Offender Drinking Driver Program, reportedly offers the option to request a leave of absence to all enrolees with a proven medical condition.
Richie claims that she will promptly return to her classes shortly after giving birth to her and Joel Madden’s baby early in the new year.
Nicole Richie has denied reports by Page Six that she was smoking this weekend in New York.
The pregnant Richie apparently wasn’t even in the States at the time of the two reported incidents. She is traveling abroad with boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. Her rep told “Extra” that the reports were “irresponsible and untrue.”
Meanwhile, Richie and Madden have delayed their wedding plans.
NICOLE RICHIE is a free woman after serving just over an hour of a four-day sentence in prison.
The pregnant socialite was booked, released and sent home in an 80-minute spell at the Century Regional Facility in Lynwood, California on Thursday (23Aug07).
A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department explains prison population levels prompted officials to release Richie after the briefest prison spell.
In a press release, the sheriff’s spokesman writes, “At this time, the criteria for a female arrestee sentenced to 30-days or less for a non-violent offense is as follows: the arrestee is booked, screened and usually released within 12 hours.
“This procedure is based on jail overcrowding to manage population levels mandated by Federal Court guidelines. Based on the mandated guidelines and Ms. Richie’s 96 hours sentence, she will be treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence.”
Richie was charged with a misdemeanor DUI on 27 July (07) and was sentenced to 36 months of summary probation. If she violates probation, she will have to serve one year in jail.
Richie was arrested on 11 Deceember (06) when she found driving her Mercedes Benz the wrong way down California State Route 134 highway in Burbank, California.
After failing an on-field sobriety test, Richie admitted to having smoked marijuana and taking a vicodin painkiller.

Soul star LIONEL RICHIE is thrilled by the news his daughter NICOLE is pregnant – because now she gets to go through what she put her dad through.
The socialite/actress publicly confirmed her pregnancy during a TV interview earlier this week (beg30Jul07) but admits she told her father weeks ago.
She says, “I said, ‘Well, you’re going to be a grandfather,’ and he told me, ‘Now you’re going to experience what I have. All the things you put me through, that’s what you’re going to go through.’”
The Hello singer has stood by his daughter’s side through drug addiction, a broken engagement and a handful of wild controversies, which have culminated in a four-day jail sentence for driving the wrong way on a California freeway while under the influence.
Richie admits she lied about her pregnancy at first – because she couldn’t believe she was with child.
She adds, “It took me a long time for it to sink in. I didn’t even really believe it until I heard the heartbeat.”

Socialite NICOLE RICHIE was briefly hospitalized for dehydration on Friday after falling ill while filming the new season of her reality show THE SIMPLE LIFE.
The 25-year-old was examined by a doctor on the set of the show and she was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to entertainment website E! Online, she was given intravenous fluids for 15 minutes and then released.
After the incident, her representative said, “Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening. We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health.”
Richie announced in October she was seeking treatment to help her gain weight.
The upcoming season of The Simple Life features Richie and best friend PARIS HILTON working as camp counselors.

The itty-bitty celebutante and Good Charlotte singer have been inseparable since he was dumped by long time teen GF, Hilary Duff.
andPOP previously reported the couple had double dated with Madden’s twin, Benji, and were dirty dancing together in a Los Angeles nightclub.
It now seems their relationship is picking up speed.
Madden, 27, was listed as Richie’s emergency contact person in paperwork filed in relation to her DUI charges earlier this week, Page Six reports. Actress Nicole Richie was arrested early on Monday morning and charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
She had been spotted driving against traffic on a freeway in southern California, according to Reuters.
Officer Todd Workman, a California Highway Patrol spokesman, said that, at the time of her arrest, Richie admitted she’d taken Vicodin and smoked marijuana.
Richie, who Workman described as “very cooperative,” was released on $15,000 U.S. bail.
About six weeks ago, it was revealed that Richie had checked herself into a clinic to try and tackle weight issues. A police report shows that, at the time of her arrest, the 5’1″ actress weighed 85 pounds.
After breaking up just a couple weeks ago with Hilary Duff (who was underage for most of their courtship), Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden is now apparently dating Nicole Richie.

“Desperate Housewives” actress Eva Longoria also made the list, with PETA fuming: “You’d think she’d be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane.”
Ashley Olsen, 20, was the runner-up on the annual list.
PETA said of the thin actress: “Wearing fur does add 20 pounds, but if Ashley wants to fill out her frame, we suggest using a fork instead.”
Last year’s winner, Nicole’s close friend Paris Hilton, failed to make the list since she vowed never to wear fur again after watching a shocking video detailing how animals are killed for their pelts.
PETA are now considering asking the hotel heiress to become one of their ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur’ models.
Nicole Richie checked herself into the $80,000 a month Beau Monde in Newport Beach last week to deal with her weight issues. Seems like shopping is more important than living.
Richie checked herself out two days later, reportedly saying she wanted to go shopping. She later was seen partying with Lindsay Lohan and collapsed at night club Hyde and refused to allow employees to call her an ambulance.
“The staffers at Beau Monde begged her to stay”, reports a source according to MSNBC. “Nicole is in complete denial and oblivious to how sick she really is.”
No word if Richie has returned to Beau Monde yet.
