A half-eaten piece of toast rejected by One Direction’s Niall Horan attracted almost $100,000 in online bids. The band was being interviewed on Australia’s Sunrise yesterday where they tasted a bunch of local foods. Niall Horan tried a Vegemite spread for the first time but was utterly unimpressed and spat it out.
He told his Twitter followers: ”Can clearly say vegemite is horrible! Like tryin new stuff though.”
The broadcaster then auctioned off the other piece of the toast for the Australian charity YoungCare. It’s a nice thought and the money is definitely worth sending to charity, but is it really worth a gnarled piece of toast that will probably go mouldy in a week? Also, what do you actually DO with leftover toast? Eat it? Cryogenically freeze it?
