Stevie Nicks Cancels Appearances and Performances in NYC

The legendary Stevie Nicks has had to cancel a series of upcoming appearances and performances in New York City due to pneumonia, reports Perez Hilton.

The iconic musician, whose first new album in ten years is dropping on Tuesday, was scheduled to appear on the ‘Today Show’ and ‘Good Day NY’ on May 3rd. Nicks was also set to perform at a star studded event thrown in her honor by her record label at New York’s Webster Hall on May 4th, but she had to cancel both days.

Nicks was told by her doctor to “stay in bed and not fly” until she’s feeling better. Here’s her released statement:

“I want to apologize to all my fans and hope that we can reschedule and of course I hope you love the new album. It’s for you.”

Not a great start to her publicity tour, but I’m sure she’ll bounce back in no time. ‘Rolling Stone’ calls her latest album ‘In Your Dreams’ her ‘finest collection of songs since the Eighties,’ so I’m sure the album will make up for this stream of missed events. It’s so great to see such legends still doing their thing.

Justin Bieber Bodyguard Arrested for Roughing Up Photographer

You have to be careful around Justin Bieber, otherwise you will feel the wrath of his bodyguard. One of Justin’s bodyguards was arrested in NYC this week for allegedly roughing up a photographer.

Kenneth Hamilton, Bieber’s bodyguard, is accused of shoving a photographer up against a parked car on November 26, reports the NY Post.

Hamilton issued a statement at a NYC police station on Wednesday, and will be appearing in court.

Charlie Sheen you are the king of partying – but you gotta face the reality of your actions. Capri Anderson has launched a lawsuit against Charlie Sheen saying Sheen held her against her will at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.

Sources tell TMZ that Sheen was acting nuts and destroying the hotel room, and Capri felt her life was in danger. Consequently she locked herself in the bathroom of the suite and called for hotel security.

Capri also claims that Sheen threatened her in the hotel room, however she neglected to mention that fact when police arrived.

No word on the amount Anderson is seeking from Sheen.

Charlie Sheen Hospitalized After Altercation with Female Escort

Hollywood man whore Charlie Sheen had a wild night last night that has resulted in a hospital stay and an altercation with a female escort.

According to the New York Post, when the authorities arrived at around 2AM on Tuesday to The Plaza Hotel in New York City , Sheen was both drunk and naked, having badly damaged his surroundings in a fit of rage. Police described Sheen as being “emotionally disturbed” when they arrived.

According to Life & Style magazine that the star was entertaining an escort at the time of his alleged outburst. “She was fearing for her life and was naked,” the source says of the woman, who was allegedly hiding in the hotel room closet. “Charlie was incoherent but started screaming slurs at the cops.”

Sheen was given an option to go to jail or go to the hospital. He chose the hospital and was accompanied by his ex-wife Denise Richards.

Way to go Sheen!

Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith Dance Off

Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith stayed up past their bedtimes to hang out and relax last week after Bieber’s Madison Square Garden show. We’re not surprised to hear that what started as a casual game of bowling quickly progressed into an intense, no-holds barred, sudden death dance off.

TMZ reports that the teen heartthrobs broke it down to the tune of Kevin Rudolf’s “You Make the Rain Fall” at Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge last week. Though the Karate Kid did his fair share of popping, locking, and dropping, the win apparently went to Justin Bieber for his killer moonwalk. To be fair, Justin does have experience holding dance offs in bowling alleys, so he probably had the upper hand in the situation.

Wish you were there? Well, don’t worry – Bieber’s documentary crew caught the whole battle on film, so we’re sure that the whole gory grudge match will make its way into your hands sooner or later.

Justin has some smooth moves, but Jaden threw down pretty hard in the video for the boy’s Karate Kid soundtrack collaboration, “Never Say Never.” We’ll need to see the footage before a true winner can be declared.

Lady Gaga Performs to 20,000 on The Today Show

Lady Gaga took over Rockefeller Plaza Friday morning appearing and performing on The Today Show, reports MTV News.

Wearing more conservative (for Lady Gaga at least) outfits, a white pantsuit and bra and after a costume change a black jumpsuit and bra, the Mother Monster put on a hell of a show for her fans through the heat and pouring rain.

Around 20,000 people showed up to watch her perform hits including “Bad Romance” and “Alejandro” and a new song called “You and I”.

Before performing her new song, Lady Gaga said, “‘You and I’ was written about the most important person that I’ve ever met and all my friends downtown, Lady Starlight and Brian, who’s here today playing trumpet, and all my friends, they’re so wonderful.”

Despite her international superstar status, Gaga told host Meredith Vieira, “I haven’t [gotten used to it], but I love and cherish my fans so much,” continuing, “I just want to say a big thank you to all of the television and radio and the underground clubs and the gay community for supporting me for the past three years. … There’s certainly things that are difficult to deal with, but the kind of fame that I cherish is the relationship I have with my fans.”

Crush Luther Release New Music Video For Second Single, ’28′

It’s a Monday night in Golden, British Columbia, and Crush Luther have just finished playing for a crowd of one person – the creepy bar owner.

There were three girls around earlier in the show, but they left because the bar owner was drunk and hitting on them. There was also a drunk named Kurt, but he got thrown out minutes into the show.

“[Kurt] was the drunkest human being I have ever seen,” Luther Mallory, lead singer of Crush Luther, told andPOP. “He was on the stage with us, just swaying back and forth, ready to pass out.”

After the show, at around 2 a.m., Crush Luther was hanging out at the bar and having a couple of drinks. Then all of a sudden, a giant crowd of people wandered into the bar and demanded some live music.

Crush Luther answered the call.

The giant crowd of people had been at the local strip club, where a new stripper had come to town for the week to dance.

The people of Golden called this night, “fresh meat night,” which Mallory said is horrible and horrifying as anything.

“We ended up actually having a pretty excellent show, after the show,” Mallory said. “But previously, just Kurt. Kurt is probably dead now, I assume.”

Not too bad for a first tour.

But currently, Crush Luther isn’t worrying about past or future tours. Their new video for the song ‘28’ is set to premier on MuchMusic this week. ‘28’ is the second single off of their album, Some People Have No Good To Give, which was released in the fall of 2009.

“I think it’s great,” Mallory said. “It’s just a fun little story about this kid living as a 28-year-old and going to work and doing the daily grime kind of stuff.”

The music video was shot in New York City and was directed by Chris Walters, who shot the band’s previous video for the single, ‘A Light.’

And for the first time ever, no members of Crush Luther are appearing in the video.

“It could have looked like anything,” Mallory said. “But we’re not self conscious enough that we need TV time or anything like that.”

Crush Luther was officially formed in Toronto in 2002. But long before Crush Luther, Mallory, guitarist Matt Leitch and drummer PJ Herrick were friends, growing up and going to school together in Arnprior, Ontario which consists of about 7 000 people.

Throughout their schooling, Mallory and Leitch were in various bands with each other.

“It’s a band with a lot of history like that,” Mallory said. “We’ve been in so many bands together … just never a pop band, always just some lame metal band.”

Growing up, Mallory would hang out at Leitch’s place, where he would watch Leitch and his brother play along with Green Day and Weezer songs through gigantic DJ speakers.

Eventually, Mallory began to play along with the tunes on Leitch’s bass during their hang outs. Then, Mallory’s father bought him his own bass.

It was “from Song Bird Music in Ottawa,” Mallory said. “It was a used bass that had the word ‘shit’ carved into it.”

Then, when it was time for college, Mallory went to Fanshawe in London, Ontario, from which he would eventually drop out. But it was here that the all of members of Crush Luther would meet up and form into a band.

They played their first show at the Outback Shack, and it was a huge success, as the venue was packed with close friends. Since then, the band has only gotten bigger and better.

“We have the footage of it and I saw it sort of recently,” Mallory said. “Some of the songs were so butchered but it was a really great first show to have.”

Since the show at the Outback Shack, Crush Luther have released three music videos, two albums and they see themselves as being a “modestly successful band.”

They are also currently promoting a contest where fans can enter a draw to have Crush Luther play a live set in their living room. The contest is called the Living Room Sessions and can be accessed through Crush Luther’s MySpace page.

“We’re not one of those bands that wants to dominate the world,” Mallory said. “We just want to write records and tour them and kind of make one fan at a time. And hopefully they’re just a gigantic fan for life.”

Jay-Z Debuts New York Documentary Online called ‘NY-Z’

Many would agree that Jay-Z is the official ambassador of New York City. As one of the World’s greatest entertainers, Jay-Z feels most at home in New York’s Madison Square Gardens. To honor this relationship, MTV News is reporting that Absolut Vodka has teamed up with Jay-Z to produce a documentary about his bond with the arena. The film titled “NY-Z” has landed online and is directed by Danny Clinch.

“New York, New York, is my foundation, it’s the center of my growth, it’s the muse for my art,” Jay-Z says in the clip. “It’s where I grew up. It’s the thing that I have a lot of pride in.”

The film follows the rapper as he prepares for the release of Blueprint 3 and his September 11 benefit show. The film also has an amazing group of guests including John Mayer, Mary J. Blige and Diddy.

“NY-Z” features the rapper reminiscing about his upbringing in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects and his mother’s record collection, which included albums by the Isley Brothers, the Jackson 5 and the Commodores, which Jay said inspired his original Blueprint album. Jay said his mom had “great musical taste.”

R&B Star, D’Angelo, Allegedly Asked for $40 Blow Job

D’Angelo, R&B star, was looking for some mouth love but ended up getting booked by an undercover cop, reports CHARTattack.

D’Angelo, best known for his video “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” where he appears completely naked, allegedly asked a woman for a $40 blow job.

The woman to provide the $40 dollar mouth love was an undercover cop, and arrested D’Angelo on the spot, charging him with solicitation.

Later, when searching D’Angelo’s car (real name Michael Archer), police found $12,000. So, there was a lowball definitely going on, with that $40 offer.

Now, D’Angelo has been released from jail.

The R&B star has since pleaded not guilty to the solicitation charges and plans to contest the allegations made against him, according to a recent post on his MySpace.

D’Angelo has been working on a follow-up record to his 2000’s Voodoo, but has had minimal success because of legal problems occurring over the past couple of years. The new record is expected to be released sometime this summer. But then again, who really knows.

CNN is reporting that Diddy and Ciroc vodka have teamed up to make sure people in those towns get home safe. In Las Vegas street teams will be handing out $15 taxi debit cards between 8:00pm and 11:00pm local time. In New York City street teams will be handing out one way subway metrocards between 8:00pm and 11:00pm local time.

“New York stands as the world’s icon for a New Year’s Eve celebration and Las Vegas is the biggest party destination in the country,” Combs said in a statement. “By bringing this program to both of these great cities we will continue to show the rest of the country that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely.”

Ozzy Osbourne to Play Concert With Metallica

English rocker Ozzy Osbourne will join heavy metal band Metallica on stage for their upcoming concert to honour the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s 25th anniversary in New York City, CHARTattack reports.

The show will take place on Oct. 30 at Madison Square Garden. The event will also feature performances from U2, Aretha Franklin and Eric Clapton. Another show, being held the day before, will feature Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Friends. All of the event’s performers are members of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Metallica were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April, along with Jeff Beck and Run DMC. Osbourne was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2006 along with Black Sabbath.

In other news, at their two sold-out shows last month at Montreal’s Bell Centre, Metallica set a new record for the venue’s highest paid attendance ever.

Metallica also decided to donate $21,462 of their earnings from those two shows to a community services organization called Sun Youth.

“It’s a beautiful gift,” Sun Youth co-founder Sid Stevens told the Montreal Gazette. “People sometimes look at groups of this nature in a derogatory or negative manner. But it’s very interesting to see them donate in every city they visit.”

Stevens said Metallica are giving a part of the profits from their Death Magnetic concert tour to a local charity at every stop.

Fame Kills Tour Cancellation A Mutual Decision

Lady Gaga and Kanye West shocked fans on Thursday when they announced they would be canceling their much-anticipated Fame Kills tour without explanation.

But on Friday at an event in New York City, Gaga, who didn’t get into specifics about the cancellation, did say West would be taking some time off and she would be hitting the road on her own.

“Well, actually, it was a mutual decision to cancel the tour,” she told MTV News. “But I’m not taking any time off, so I’ll be leaving just a week later than I was supposed to on my own solo tour. IT will be the same places. So I will see you guys there. I’m putting out my re-release as well – The Fame Monster on November 24.”

According to mtvnews.com, she added an announcement about who will be joining her on this trek, hinting that the identity would be released soon. As for the look of the tour, she told reporters she would be starting from scratch.

“In respects to the creative work that Kanye and I did together, I won’t be doing any of the things that we designed for the tour,” she explained. “It will be entirely new, and it will be just as amazing and memorable and epic.”

Man Convicted for Trespassing in Kirsten Dunst’s Hotel Room

James Jimenez, 35, was convicted Friday of criminal trespass for breaking into Kirsten Dunst’s New York City hotel room in 2007 and stealing $15,000 worth of handbags and electronics, reports E! News. While the misdemeanor could send Jimenez to jail for up to a year, the jury was deadlocked when it came to charges of burglary.

Jarrod Beinerman, who was also involved in the incident, pleaded guilty to attempted burglary last year and is serving four years in prison. If convicted of this charge, Jimenez could face up to 15 years behind bars.

Dunst, who had been in New York City at the time of the theft shooting How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, testified about what was missing from her SoHo Grand suite. Simon Pegg, her costar in the film, also testified that his cell phone, camera and iPod were stolen from the room. Some of the stolen items were eventually returned to Dunst after the suspects were caught.

Jimenez testified that he wasn’t clever enough to have planned the break-in. He is free on $50,000 bail until Nov. 13 when he is due back in court for sentencing.

“I feel pretty good,” said Jimenez. “I never gave up my faith in the Lord.”
