After teasing us on Twitter and offering some behind the scenes footage that made us all swoon, Olly Murs has finally released the video for his latest single “Dear Darlin’.” Hooray!
The video is all about Olly and his girlfriend moving into their new apartment when sadly the relationship goes south. Relationships are all about communication and in the video the two try to do just that by communicating their feelings through a letter but neither can find the right words. While on a stroll, his girlfriend reads lyrics like: “I miss you” and “These arms our yours to hold,” written in various places when she thinks up exactly what to say. Who wouldn’t be inspired by messages like that?
The video is amazing and does not fall short in brooding, pensive shots of the dashing 29-year-old who dons his famous suspenders and jean jacket throughout the video. Just remember to breath while watching it.

One Direction wants to “Kiss You” in their music video and you DEFINITELY want to kiss them back (or so we assume). What are we really saying? Be prepared to make out with your computer screen when you see their brand new video. In the Vaughn Arnell-directed video, the guys pay homage to The King of Rock himself, surfing, skiing, riding motorbikes and sailing.
Arnell, who’s the same mind behind “Live While We’re Young” and “Little Things,” was inspired by Elvis movies like Blue Hawaii, Roustabout and Jail House Rock. They even don dapper vintage sailor suits. Oh captain my captain! Who would not be on a ship sailed by the boys?
Arnell told MTV the music video is different, and less location based like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Live While We Are Young,” because it’s all done in studio. There are even some inception shots where we see the filming of the guys being filmed. So of course, this music video is packed with the boys’ awkward facial expressions and spastic hand gestures…was that supposed to be a fist pump Louis? It also seems Liam is pretty confused by the Macarena at one point. It’s okay, they make up for it with many shippable moments — Harry groping Zayn’s man-boobs and Zayn giving Harry a smooch. Gif that Zarry shippers.
The boys themselves called the music video “pure stupidity.” Good public relation skills boys. Since they go shirtless, you get to relive that amazing sex-riot from that day they spent in Australia. Prepare to fangirl.

Sorry ladies! Unfortunately, “Jerry” does not make an appearance in the “personal” footage that was “stolen” from Justin Bieber. I’m using quotation marks because it turns out all the drama was actually a well executed stunt from Bieber incorporated. The good news is, Beliebers can rest easy knowing that Justin was never in any real danger of being exposed or humiliated. Furthermore, we got a new music video that’s highly innovative. The new video for ‘Beauty and The Beat’ features Nicki Minaj and was entirely written, directed and shot by Justin. So in the end everyone wins because if someone had actually stolen something from Bieber they would probably be executed by now.
Today Psy released a slightly unnecessary but still highly entertaining female version of his viral hit “Open Condom Style” “Gangnam Style,” just in case you were yearning for a higher pitched version to sing along to.
The second version, which is called ”Oppa You’re My Style,” features HyunA, a South Korean singer and dancer from K-Pop group 4Minute. The lyrics have been mended to come from a female’s point of view. HyunA claims Psy is “just her style” while dancing with him in a short white dress — though we’re missing the intensity of the horse riding move from the first music video.
While I want to say I won’t be addicted to this track, that would be a complete lie since it’s already stuck in my head.

A$AP Rocky drops his latest single and video for “Purple Kisses,” that will be released on his newest mix-tape Lord$ Never Worry on August 28. But that’s not all, he’ll also be coming out with his solo project in September. Looks like fall will be the season of Rocky.
The video is pretty chill and super laid-back (like any rap video), with tons of girls, smoking, alcohol, and giving the viewer a glossy eye effect.

B.o.B and André 3000′s new music video ”Play the Guitar” brought me back to when I was six years old, playing with my favourite toy ever, Lite-Brite.
The song was originally supposed to appear on B.o.B’s sophomore LP Strange Clouds, but it never made the cut. We couldn’t be more thrilled that we finally got our hands on it, along with a music video that uses a creative range of pixelated black and white dots. It’s pretty trippy and I would’ve loved to see their faces, but I can’t complain.
If you haven’t already heard, André 3000 will be playing Jimi Hendrix in a bio-pic All is By My Side.

The Born To Die singer Lana Del Rey not only has an amazing voice but a bonus is her killer vintage style videos. LDR just released her new music video for “Summertime Sadness,” but sadly the video ends with more than just a heartbreak.
Lana Del Rey brings in actress/model Jamie King to co-star, playing her lesbian lover (as some may argue and say it’s a close friend), where they share intimate moments as you can see in the various flashbacks. They eventually end up ending their lives on separate occasions. What a summer bummer. The video was directed by King’s husband, Kyle Newman and director/screenwriter Spencer Susser.
You can also see Lana as the new face of H&M’s Autumn/Winter campaign.

KatyKats! This may be happy or sad news to you because this is the final chapter from “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection” but also a start to a new beginning.
Katy Perry released a sneak peek of her new music video “Wide Awake,” giving fans just over a minute look of what’s to come. The little girl in the video resembles a young Katy (so cute) flipping through the pages of memory lane from past music videos stills such as “Teenage Dream,” “Last Friday Night,” E.T,” and “Part of Me.”
Near the end of the chapter, a prince charming appears. Could this lead to a magical fairytale ending where Katy lives happily ever after? You can watch the premiere of the full music video June 19.
Her forthcoming 3D film “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” that will take you behind the scenes of her life hits theatres July 5.

The members of Karmin must have been able to channel past experiences with each other to act out their video for “Brokenhearted.” After all, Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan are a real life couple. In the video for their upbeat pop single, Amy and Nick are flirting at band practice but the guy leaves her at home waiting for him to call.
The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld, who also took care of Flo Rida’s “Club Can’t Handle Me” and Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” clips.
Amy is cheerful and offers an irresistible Nicki Minaj-style rap midway through, which originally shot her to fame in the viral video world.
We speculated last week why Katy Perry joined the army in her new video for “Part of Me” and of course, it would be because of a bad breakup. In the beginning of the Ben Mor-directed video Perry splits from her sleazy beau and is so angry that she decides to join the Marines. The beauty queen goes to a gas station washroom and chops of her hair into an unflattering crop — though she still manages to pull it off.
We watch Perry maintain the sparkling part of her soul that her boyfriend could never take away. Between scenes of her crawling under barbed wire and being submerged in icy cold water, she burns a letter from her ex and sings: ”You chewed me up and spit me out / Like I was poison in your mouth / You took my light, you drained me down / That was then and this is now.”
This song is the perfect breakup anthem, which is kind of fitting considering she just separated from her husband Russell Brand. Still, she wrote the song long before their split so it’s coincidental that it would come out now.

Expecting a rough week? Here’s your weekly dose of music to help you survive. Consider it your weekly prescription.
Hey Ocean! – Big Blue Wave
Hey Ocean! has a lovely fun-in-the-sun vibe, so listening to them will probably bring back your fave summer memories. “Big Blue Wave” is a charming, upbeat tune with lead singer Ashley Ball’s gentle vocals soaring above rhythmic guitars.
Gossip – Perfect World
After three long years, Gossip is returning with their new album, “A Joyful Noise,” on May 22. I don’t know about you, but I was going through some serious Beth Ditto withdrawal. Perfect World is the first single off the album and it sounds like Ditto’s voice has just gotten stronger in the past few years.
Bon Iver – Coming Down
Bon Iver performed a cover of Anais Mitchell’s “Coming Down,” about which lead singer Justin Vernon says, “it takes you to a very, very far away place.” Featuring heartfelt vocals and beautiful harmonies, Bon Iver will make your heart melt with this cover.
Lovedrug – Wildblood
Ladies, pay attention! If you’re looking for an alternative band to crush on, google Lovedrug. Not only are the boys super suave in their skinny jeans and leather jackets, they have some serious talent. “WildBlood” is the title track off their fourth album, and while the band changed up their sound over the past few years moving to a more pop-rock sound, “Wildblood” is one of those songs you can listen to in bed and appreciate.
Arctic Monkeys – R U Mine
The Arctic Monkeys have come a long way from their I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor days. Apparently the band took a queu from Queens of the Stone Age. Their new single ”R U Mine” has some serious fuzz guitar going on and it works. I’m always one to embrace a band’s changing style and the Arctic Monkeys are definitely sounding more grown up.
Hot Chip – Flutes
Electro-indie band Hot Chip are dropping their new album, In Our Heads, on June 11. The First single is called “Flutes” and the music video will have your head spinning…literally. It’s all filmed inside their production studio and is a seven-minute merry-go-round. If you like Hot Chip’s eclectic sound, the single is worth checking out and I dare you to watch the whole video without turning away to regain your balance.
Radar Online reports that Rihanna was spotted in the streets of New York this weekend shooting some scenes for her new music video, and as always her wardrobe was… um…interesting.
RiRi was sporting a Beetlejuice inspired blazer, crazy matching short shorts, and the piece de resistance – a flaming red wig with a perfectly colour-matched mesh veil…contraption.
In the most unfair twist of events known to womankind, she still managed to look gorgeous despite the absolutely heinous dress-in-the-dark quality of her outfit.
The scenes will be a part of the “Umbrella” singer’s video for her new single, “What’s My Name?” andPOP has confirmed that her name is, in fact, still Rihanna.
In all seriousness, you’ve got to admit that the lady’s a musical powerhouse! We’re pretty sure we’re going to die with the chorus of “Rude Boy” stuck in our heads.
Do you like Rihanna’s new red wig obsession?
It’s a Monday night in Golden, British Columbia, and Crush Luther have just finished playing for a crowd of one person – the creepy bar owner.
There were three girls around earlier in the show, but they left because the bar owner was drunk and hitting on them. There was also a drunk named Kurt, but he got thrown out minutes into the show.
“[Kurt] was the drunkest human being I have ever seen,” Luther Mallory, lead singer of Crush Luther, told andPOP. “He was on the stage with us, just swaying back and forth, ready to pass out.”
After the show, at around 2 a.m., Crush Luther was hanging out at the bar and having a couple of drinks. Then all of a sudden, a giant crowd of people wandered into the bar and demanded some live music.
Crush Luther answered the call.
The giant crowd of people had been at the local strip club, where a new stripper had come to town for the week to dance.
The people of Golden called this night, “fresh meat night,” which Mallory said is horrible and horrifying as anything.
