Can you say disgusting? You may want to think twice before taking a dip anywhere except a pool cause you never know what specimens may be floating around. Nestled in a New Jersey river, this cuddly friend was caught on a bow fishing trip.
For those of you that have no idea what a sea lamprey is, let me break it done for you. A lamprey is an eel-like parasite that feeds off of fish. Its sucker mouth and sharp teeth attach itself to the body of a fish and suck its blood. Kind of sounds like that stalker ex-boyfriend that just wont leave you alone, amirite ladies?
The lamprey kind of looks like the chestbursters from Alien. Sorry. We’re not sorry.

At last there will be a halt on GTL— gym, tan, laundry (unless it’s for the baby). Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi and Jionni LaValle welcomed the newest little member to the shore, their first born baby boy Lorenzo Dominic LaValle, early Sunday morning in Livingston, New Jersey.
Hopefully now that she’s a mom, she’ll be able to reinvent herself and leave behind her partying rep. Snooki has also sent out a bunch of tweets about lack of sleep, finally being able to eat egg whites and welcoming news:
MTV shared in on their excitement: “We couldn’t be happier for Nicole and Jionni on the healthy delivery of their baby boy! We look forward to Lorenzo’s first trip to the Jersey Shore and can’t wait to see his first animal print onesie.” If you know anything about Snooki, she’s obsessed with zebra and leopard print. Have you seen those girl’s slippers?
The guido fam has also been showered with love and well wishes from Jersey Shore cast mates. Yup, they’re already in talks of a baby blow out and dressing the little thing to impress:
The fun may be over for the cast of the Jersey Shore, but the fun doesn’t have to stop for you!
Although the season had the gang livin’ it up in Italy, guidos and juiceheads can have their own fun at the original house in New Jersey, where it all began.
The APP reports the house rents out for $2,500 a night at Seaside Heights. It comes fully equipped with the duck phone and the double beds in the Smush Room. And, we have a feeling all the bed sheets have been thorougly sanitized with bleach.
As stated in the article, many fans of all ages have rented out the house for various celebrations, including one’s 40th birthday party. B-Y-O-B, bring your own drama but leave the grenades are home.
A website is claiming Jersey Shore’s Snooki was arrested in New Jersey with a ton of marijuana. Snooki claims the story is a complete lie, and she is very pissed.
Here’s a small problem with the story – Snooki wasn’t even in New Jersey when the alleged arrest happened.
Snooki’s rep tells TMZ, “The report is 100% false. As Ms. Polizzi’s legal counsel is currently investigating this matter, we cannot comment any further except to assure the public and Ms. Polizzi’s fans that this story is a complete fabrication.”
The story is still developing.
We aren’t sure exactly this guy’s motives, but a disgruntled gentleman was arrested after crashing Beyonce’s music video, and throwing an egg at a cop.
The incident occurred in New Jersey this week at a trailer park where the video was being shot. The 23 year old man was already thrown off the set twice for sneaking onto the set and yelling “I can be a better dancer!” reports TMZ. He returned a third time and threw an egg at a cop.
Understandably, the police were not amused, and they chased him down and arrested him. The guy has been released from jail.
We are curious on his motives. Was he insane? Did he want to be in the video? Is he just an ass? So many questions left to be answered.

Native New Jerseyans (or whatever they are called) have been concerned about the image Jersey Shore has portrayed for the State. However a study has been released that shows the series hasn’t affected the State’s image.
The Farleigh Dickson University Study showed that watching Jersey Shore didn’t change a person’s view. Some highlights of the report include:
- 43% of Jersey Shore viewers have a favourable view of the State
- 41% of people who never watched the show thought New Jersey was great
- Only 18% of respondents didn’t like the State
You would think with people like Snooki and “The Situation” suddenly representing the State it would tarnish their reputation. The fact it had little to no effect must mean New Jersey had little to lose as far as their reputation.
Chris Rock was at Neiman Marcus in a New Jersey mall when a woman suddenly went into labour, reports Us.
The woman was on an escalator in front of Rock when her water broke. Rock took charge of the situation, calming the woman along with the crowd, until paramedics could arrive.
“He was making the crowd, and the woman in labor, laugh,” the witness said of the 45-year-old comic and father of two. “She recognized who he was immediately, and he stayed there until the paramedics took her away.”
Will New Jersey ever be the same? Native New Jersey resident Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is saying goodbye to the state, and heading to Los Angeles, reports PopEater.
“Mike has wanted to get out of Jersey for years,” a friend of the reality star tells PopEater. “He hates it. He has always seen his future in New York or Los Angeles and now that he is rich and famous I doubt he will ever want to return to Jersey again.”
However, The Situation will of course return to New Jersey to film for his “Jersey Shore.”
“Mike will go back and tape shows for MTV but the second the camera is off he’s on the first plane out back to LA,” a TV insider tells PopEater. “He’s gone all Hollywood now. He thinks he’s better than everyone and has gotten a huge head. He wants to be hanging out with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise now not the folks at the Jersey Shore.”
Yet another example of something cool coming from New Jersey besides The Sopranos and Bruce Springsteen. The Gaslight Anthem has shaken up the punk rock community, so much that even Pitchfork likes them. We spoke with the band about their recent release American Slang, and also about Justin Bieber. Believe it or not, they are not Justin Bieber fans.
Jon Bon Jovi was performing in New Meadowlands, New Jersey when he injured his calf muscle on stage. However the New Jersey native wasn’t prepared to cancel the show, and let his fans down. Jon finished off the show despite his injury, and still brings the house down.
“Melrose Place” star Amy Locane-Bovenizer has been charged with vehicular homicide in New Jersey, reports PopEater.
On Sunday night, Locane-Bovenizer was involved in a hit and run at 9pm near Princeton, New Jersey. While trying to flee the scene, the actress slammed into the passenger side of another car, killing Helene Seeman. Her husband, Fred Seeman, who was driving the car was airlifted to hospital.
Miles away Locane rear ended another car, and when the driver tried calling for help. the actress sped away. The hit driver chased her, and noted she was “swerving and knocking down several mailboxes.”
When Police finally caught up with her, they noted a strong scent of alcohol on her breath. Amy has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault by automobile. At her arraignment on Monday afternoon, Superior Court Judge Robert Reed set her bail at $50,000.
Artie Lange has been missing from The Howard Stern Radio Show since early December, and now it seems things are getting worse. E! Online reports that the radio comedian has been hospitalized in New Jersey for undisclosed reasons.
“We can confirm that Artie is in the hospital,” Lange’s camp said in a statement. “Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor. There will be no further comment.”
Bruce Springsteen has come forward as a supporter of the equal marriage bill that could be placed before the New Jersey state Senate Thursday, according to CHARTattack.com.
The bill would make it legal for sexual minorities to marry in New Jersey, and Springsteen updated his website to let fans know he supports it.
“Like many of you who live in New Jersey, I’ve been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton,” he said in a statement. “I’ve long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor [Jon] Corzine when he writes that, ‘The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is – a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law.’ I couldn’t agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now.”
New Jersey, which is Springsteen’s home state, currently recognizes same-sex couples in civil unions, but same-sex marriage is not yet legal there.
Holler Wild Rose’s “Our Little Hymnal” is a mainstay of my stereo rotation right now. The band crafts incredibly expansive songs, packed with ambient guitars and delicate melody. There’s a lot of love in this band, and it really comes through in the music. I met up with two of the members during NxNE to speak about their band. If you like what you hear, check out www.myspace.com/hollerwildrose.
Bruce Springsteen will bid farewell to New Jersey’s Giants Stadium this fall as the final music act to rock the soon-to-be-demolished sporting venue.
Springsteen made the announcement this week during his show at the nearby Izod Center, telling the crowd that he and his “wrecking crew” – the E Street Band – have a three-concert stint at the stadium scheduled for Sept. 30, Oct. 2 and Oct. 3.
Tickets for those shows go on sale June 1 at 10 a.m. EST.
