While the kids at McKinley figure out how to live without power, Santana tries to figure out what exactly her dream is.
Here’s what you missed on last night’s episode, “Baby Steps”:
Unplugged
McKinley was having some technical troubles – a stray balloon in an outlet, to be exact – which caused a school wide power outage and left the New Directioners in the dark. Mr. Schue originally wanted to take a “go big or go home” approach, but was left with no choice but go unplugged. The lesson, however, didn’t apply only to their music; it was an opportunity for the kids to put down their phones and really experience everything around them.
At the Ballet
Sarah Jessica Parker, a.k.a. Isabelle Klempt, is back and gave Kurt the opportunity of a lifetime when she invited him to The NYC Ballet gala (the performing arts event of the season, in case you didn’t know). Santana and Rachel tagged along and we got to experience what the ballet meant to every one of them. Though the performance was a little bizarre, it was interesting to see that each one of them got their start in the same place.
Barbarella or Ballerina?
This Thursday Glee goes “Diva,” when the students at McKinley duke it out to see who’s the biggest diva, and Kurt and Rachel in New York start fighting. We get to see a huge production number with “Diva” and get nostalgic about old school Hummelberry back when they hated eachother when the duet/ diva-off with “Bring Him Home.” This is definitely a very diverse episode when it comes to music. “Diva” is jam packed with pop, classic rock, broadway tunes, top 40, and more.
Take a listen to the best 5 songs below
Hung Up – Tina
Tina has been quite the diva lately, so I’m not surprised she has taken on Madonna. Jenna Ushkowitz is severyly underrated. Her voice is so great and she is a great performer. This may be my favourite Tina performance since “Bad Romance.”
Scene Prediction: She’s hung up on Blaine. Get in line Tina. We all are.
Girl On Fire - Santana
Get ready Britana fans. Santana sings TWO songs, one of which she sings with Sam…some fighting over Britney I assume? Anyway, who else to do Alicia Keys but Naya Rivera? Always soulful, always perfect.
Scene Prediction: Santana regrets breaking up with Brittany and in true Glee fashion sings about her problems.
Don’t Stop Me Now – Blaine
Darren Criss can literally sing anything. Beyonce, Katy Perry, and now the iconic Queen. Blaine has been having some issues between his break up and exceedingly confusing crush on Sam, so it makes sense Blaine is trying to get himself back in lin. We all know Blaine is a sassy woman who doesn’t need a man. For further proof go watch “Fighter” or “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay.”
Scene prediction: In his performance to prove he is a “diva” Blaine gets some emotional closure.

Columbia Records likes Naya Rivera on ‘Glee,’ so much that the 24 year old has grabbed a record deal, according to EW.com.
It’s not surprising as Rivera has demonstrated her vocal range, covering BBA to Amy Winehouse. But there’s no word yet on the musical style she’ll aim for when she enters the studio for her debut album.
Understandably, this is a dream come true for Rivera, who said in an interview, ”I would love to release my own album someday….I can die happy when that happens.”
