Fishing is all about timing as Norman Dreger learned from one crafty Bald Eagle. He was just about to reel a fish in when the eagle swooped in and stole it from right under him—while it was still on his line! Talk about missing out on the catch of the day.
As a ranger in Yosemite National Park, Reddit user bestmattever says he gets a lot of mail from visitors but this letter is his favourite (and with good reason):
Just in case you can’t read it, here’s what the letter says:
Dear Park Rangers,
I am a Yosemite Junior Ranger. I went to Yosemite recently and accidently brought home two sticks. I know I’m not supposed to take things from the park, so I am sending them back. Please put them in nature.
Kids, man. They’re the best.
What thought to be a nice father/son day at the zoo, things took a turn down at the snow leopard exhibit. The dad was filming while talking to his son, “Look he’s coming over to talk,” but that didn’t really go as planned. The leopard pounced up and ate the little squirrel. I guess it’s just the food chain in action? The funny thing is the little boy is much more calm than the dad, clearly.
Orangutans are not that different from us.
Often referred to as the smartest animals by humans, this smart orangutan washes its face with a towel…just like we do when we need to freshen up.
HMM…face washing one day…brain surgery the next?
Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch. But they’re not just monkeys okay?!
Bon Iver, aka the love of my life, released his official video for “Towers” and it’s haunting! The video features a lonely old man walking slowly through an eerie forest to the shoreline. The “tower builder” gets in his rowboat, then something devastating happens.
The scenery in the video is beautiful. It was shot on Native American land in Washington state. It’s hard to tell exactly what the message is, but it explores our relationship with nature and is a testament to North American land preservation.
The song will be released as a single in March.
Bonnie Bear Bon Iver, who is fresh off his Grammy win, can do no wrong in my eyes.
