Naomi Watts Pregnant with Her Second Child

Naomi Watts is fourth months pregnant with her second child, reports US Weekly magazine.

The actress already has an 11-month-old son, Alexander Peter, with husband and actor Liev Schreiber.

The duo is known to be very protective of their privacy surrounding their only son. Last August, Schreiber got into a major argument with a group of photographers who tried to take pictures of baby Alexander in his bassinet.

Watts’ first pregnancy went public when fashion house Escada said her 2007 Oscars gown set off her “most precious new asset.” Schreiber later told talk show host Conan O’Brien that he was going to be a father.

The couple fell in love while filming romantic drama “The Painted Veil” in 2005.

Naomi Watts To Star In ‘Birds’ Remake

First it was a haunted videotape and an evil little girl in serious need of a hairbrush. Then it was a giant gorilla with a penchant for scaling skyscrapers. Now – pigeons?

Naomi Watts is set to scream for her life in the remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1963 horror movie “The Birds.”

The actress, who has also starred in thrillers “The Ring” and “King Kong,” is the first castmember to be announced for the film, which has crazed birds terrorizing a Californian coastal town. She will be in the lead role of Melanie Daniels, a part originally played by Tippi Hedren.

Hitchcock’s film was based on a short story by the novelist Daphne du Maurier.

“Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell is reportedly in talks to direct the remake, which will be produced by Michael Bay.

The movie is scheduled for a 2009 theatrical release.

The Oscar-nominated Watts has received critical kudos for her performances in movies including “Mulholland Dr.,” “21 Grams” and, more recently, David Cronenberg’s “Eastern Promises.”

Naomi Watts Joins UN’s Fight Against AIDS

Naomi Watts has joined the UN in its fight against AIDS, according to Reuters.

Watts, an Oscar-nominated actress recently seen in the remake of King Kong, said she “could not sit around and watch people die.”

She was recently appointed special representative for UNAIDS, which is the UN department that deals directly with the AIDS crisis in countries in Africa.

Watts was at a news conference in New York showcasing the UN?s new AIDS awareness campaign called ?4-for-everyone? which focuses on prevention, treatment, care and support.

Watts is not the only celebrity to get on board with the UN. She follows in the footsteps of Michael Douglas, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman and Danny Glover.
