Hayley Williams of Paramore has revealed the band has written four more songs for the next record.
“We have written four new songs and they are quite diverse,” Williams said. “There are some heavier songs, but there’s also one that we plan to play live soon that is called ‘In The Morning Mess.’” She added, “I can’t really say that ‘Monster’ is an indication of what to expect on the next Paramore album. We, as a band, will always try to evolve and try new things. It will be different for sure, but it will still keep Paramore’s essence.”
Move over Rebecca Black, we have found a new replacement for the worst song and music video of the year. So who is this new walk of shame? Her name is Trishii and the song is “Kiss Kiss.”
As you can see below, a completely obnoxious and crappy song, combined with a really stupid music video. We certainly hope this is a joke. And if it’s not, the good news is how much worse can we really get in the music world? Maybe we finally have hit rock bottom? Then again, Vanilli from Milli Vanilli is making a comeback….
Rebecca Black’s infamous ‘Friday’ music video has been pulled from YouTube, reports Billboard.
The video, which received more than 160 million views and 3 million ‘dislikes,’ is no longer available due to a “copyright claim by Rebecca Black.”
Earlier this week, Ark Music Factory, which is the company Black’s parents paid $4,000 to produce the song and video, began charging viewers $2.99 to watch the clip.
Black’s spokesman says the 13-year-old and her team team then sent a takedown notice to YouTube, because of a dispute with the firm.
Lawyers for Black and Ark Music have been fighting over who owns the rights to the song and video, and have removed it until the issues are resolved.
This is actually a blessing in disguise – maybe they will never, ever, put it back onto the internet? And we can all move on and live happy lives.
Her single just dropped on iTunes, she’s embarking on a summer tour, and she’s only 17-years-old. Did I mention her name is Manika?
The rising pop star just released her first single ‘Just Can’t Let You Go’ on iTunes this week, which features Lil Wayne’s protégé Lil Twist.
Her album is also on the way, which is pretty impressive for such a young artist. It’s easy to see where she got her start, though.
Manika grew up in Las Vegas, the showiest of show towns. Besides being around music and entertainment her entire life, Manika says there were other perks to growing up in Vegas as well.
“It’s cool how there’s something always open. In the middle of the night or 2 a.m., if you wanted to go shopping or eat, there’s always a place open for that,“ says Manika.
She got her start after meeting CeCe Sammy, a coveted vocal performance coach, by chance in Vegas. After working with her and developing a unique sound, Manika was then introduced to Frank DiLeo, Michael Jackson’s longtime manager. Sammy and DiLeo now co-manage her.
“At first, I was really intimidated because I was working with Frank DiLeo and Travis Payne and people that have worked with the legendary Michael Jackson. I was like, you know, I better be good,” says Manika. “The thing I love about Michael’s team is that they’re super talented and also they’re such great, good-hearted genuine people. They’re so supportive, and I couldn’t ask for anyone better.”
Manika says she’s been singing for as long as she can remember, so it’s no surprise she naturally found her way into the business. For the past few months, she’s been touring across high schools, which she says has been a tremendous growing experience.
“I was totally excited to start and get my music out there, and it was also a little nerve racking because, when you think of it, it’s your first time you’re hearing me. It’s been great, the kids are so sweet,” says Manika.
“It’s really amazing seeing the process of how a song starts as an idea, a storyline and an emotion, and then it keeps building. You get the track done, you do the music video, then you get the live performance and you relate it to an audience.”
Jennifer Lopez is inspired by Lady Gaga to do “great things,” reports CTV.
The ‘American Idol’ judge and singer is apparently a huge fan of Gaga, and is inspired by her creativity to take her music to another level.
“I’m always motivated by other artists and inspired by them. They inspire me because when I see other people doing great things, it makes me want to do great things too,” says Lopez.
Lopez got the inspiration from working with Gaga on her latest album ‘Love?,’ where Gaga lent her talents on the tracks ‘Hypnotico’ and ‘Invading My Mind.’
“I love her (Gaga’s) sense of lyric and melody, I feel like she’s very interesting. It’s just not something you’re gonna hear every day,” Lopez tells MTV News.
“I really love the records she worked on and was glad to be able to take those and make them my own and actually have that collaboration with her. I feel very lucky to have done that.”
Hopefully, Lopez means she’ll be riskier in her music now, not that she’ll be showing up to events in ridiculous outfits and antics. That’s Gaga’s forte.
Britney Spears debuted her Femme Fatale tour in Sacramento, CA last night, reports Perez Hilton.
Dressed in a glittery bikini, Spears opened the show with her hit ‘Hold It Against Me’ and bonus track ‘Up N’ Down.’
Spears also reportedly sang one of her classic ballads, ‘Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know,’ live for the first time in 9 years.
She also sang her smash ‘Till The World Ends,’ where she flies over the audience with a pair of over-the-top glitzy wings. Who else would do this?
My opinion, after watching the videos, is that she’s definitely regained a little bit of spark that she’s been missing. Although she lip-synched and her dancing is not in tip-top shape, and it probably never will be, Spears looks like she is genuinely enjoying herself and is definitely more into it. The girl can still seduce an entire audience – she looks great!

With the MMVAs only three days away, anticipation is rising for Toronto’s biggest party. Today’s feature will take a look at Far East Movement and Dev, who will be performing on the big night.
Bridging the gap between underground party records and mainstream hip-hop and pop, Far East Movement and Dev have gone straight to the #1 spots with songs such as ‘Like a G6.’
The group is comprised of a dynamic foursome that uses hip-hop, pop, electro and dance to create truly unique music. Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman have already completed two world tours. The group’s music has also been featured on numerous television shows and films, including ‘Get Him To The Greek’ and ‘Gossip Girl.’
Dev, who frequently performs and contributes to the group, holds her own as well. She’s had many hits on her own, including the infectious ‘Bass Down Low.’ She is currently finishing up a debut studio album, ‘The Night The Sun Came Up,’ and is touring with User and Akon on Usher’s ‘OMG Tour.’
Check out a video we recently did with Dev, and don’t forget: Enter our contest for a chance to win a wristband to the 2011 Muchmusic Video Awards.
Attorneys for Michael Jackson’s doctor want to release outtakes from his concert film ‘This Is It,’ reports Billboard.
Dr. Conrad Murray, who is charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death, wants access to over 100 hours of raw footage that was filmed during the singer’s last days.
Sony Pictures is, of course, fighting the request, but Murray plans on using the clips to defend himself and show that Jackson was in good health before he died.
Lawyers for Murray and Sony attorneys are due in court Thursday. Murray is charged with giving Jackson an overdose of anesthetic propofol and other sedatives.
I don’t think releasing footage of a very ill Jackson is going to solve anything. People are trying to move on, and he’s just dragging it out. The charge has been laid, you’re guilty, now pay the price.
So Justin Timberlake isn’t quitting music. He’s just unsure if he’s going to put out another album, let alone put songs together.
Right…
In an interview with Playboy Magazine, the popstar turned movie actor opened up about his life and career. Now that he’s scored big movie roles in films such as “The Social Network”, “Bad Teacher” and upcoming film “Friends with Benefits”, Timberlake says he doesn’t have the time or passion to commit full time to music.
“You go through these spurts when you miss it. In a perfect world I’d love to be able to involve myself in music and films as they come and go. But I’m always writing music, always thinking about ideas for songs,” he told the magazine.
However, that doesn’t mean there’s going to be a Justin Timberlake song to buy anytime soon.
“I don’t have a single song ready to go. People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don’t know what to say,” he said.
“Music is not my focus right now. It may be someday. It could happen next month or next year, but right now it’s not where it’s at for me.”
Seeing that Timberlake got his start with “The Mickey Mouse Club” as well as boy band ‘N Sync, I can see how he has lost a bit of passion for music after doing it for so long.
But since I haven’t been much a fan of Timberlake’s acting…I really have missed his music. I hope he finds the passion and commitment to release a new album or single in the near future.
Two men have been arrested for an apparent Joss Stone murder plot, reports CTV.
The two were found near the home of R&B singer Joss Stone in Cullompton, southwest England, on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and murder.
Police officials say the men were aged 30 and 33, and were arrested Tuesday after residents reported a suspicious-looking vehicle.
The men “had in their possession information relating to an individual in the Cullompton area and items which lead us to suspect that they may have intended to commit a criminal offense,” says Detective Inspector Steve Parker.
Stone’s publicist says she was apparently aware of the arrests and is being updated by the police. Police did not confirm that Stone was at home when the incident occurred.
The Sun newspaper claims, although not confirmed by officials, that the men had swords, rope, a body bag, and maps and aerial photos of Stone’s property.
The men are currently in custody. This is a scary story, especially if what the men had is true – a body bag? aerial photos? That’s a whole other level of stalking. Glad she’s okay.
With the MMVAs just five days away, Toronto is preparing for one of Canada’s biggest music block parties. As fans eagerly anticipate their favourite performers, today we’re going to take a look at Fefe Dobson.
Nominated four times for the 2011 MMVAs, 26-year-old Fefe Dobson is no stranger to the music industry. She began her career in 2003 with the pop-rock smash ‘Bye Bye Boyfriend,’ then following up with hits such as ‘Take Me Away,’ ‘Everything’ and ‘Don’t Go (Girls and Boys).’
Dobson has also dabbled in acting and modelling, appearing as Tina Turner in the NBC series ‘American Dreams’ and modelling for a Tommy Hilfiger commercial. She also opened for Justin Timberlake on his European tour.
Now, her current single ‘Can’t Breathe,’ from her latest release ‘Joy,’ is currently in the top 10 on MuchMusic’s ‘Countdown.’

Justin Timberlake has revealed that smoking pot helps him relax in an otherwise stressful career, reports Digital Spy.
The singer-turned-actor says he “absolutely” does pot to relieve himself of stressful situations and worries.
“The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking. Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high,” says Timberlake to Playboy Magazine.
As for music, Timberlake says he isn’t ready to return as he lacks the creative energy to create a new album.
“I don’t have a single song ready to go… People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don’t know what to say.”
“Music is not my focus right now. It may be someday. It could happen next month or next year but right now it’s not where it’s at for me.”
Timberlake is now focusing on his acting career, where he will star alongside Cameron Diaz in ‘Bad Teacher,’ which is released on June 24.
Hey, whatever calms you down and makes you productive. As long as he doesn’t get all crazy and out of control, then it’s fine by me.
Hmm…looks like the Black Eyed Peas will need to redeem themselves from their fans in New York.
After waiting in sweltering heat for six hours and then two more in the rain, fans waiting for the group were then told the Black Eyed Peas concert in Central Park was simply not going to happen.
“What, Will.I.Am can’t play in the rain? Is Fergie‘s hair gonna get wet,” said Queens resident Brian Moriarty, 26, who lined up with his girlfriend at 3 p.m. hoping to get a prime general admission spot close to the stage.
The pre-show festivities with performances by Taylor Swift, Carole King and Tony Bennet were scheduled to start at 5 but were delayed due to the bad weather, leaving several fans stranded in the heat.
While gates finally opened to concert-goers at 7:45, the police department announced they were shutting everything down due to lightning right after fans had settled into the park.
“We won’t go,” chanted the crowd of some 20,000 New Yorkers (of the 60,000 originally scheduled to attend the performance meant to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation).
And many of them did not. Police had to close in on groups who believed that by squatting in the meadow, they would be treated to the Peas’ musical stylings.
“The heat wasn’t going to stop them, the rain wasn’t going to stop them, but the lightning-it stopped them. It came down to safety for everyone,” according to a statement from the Robin Hood Foundation.
The foundation hopes to reschedule another concert soon, and will provide more information “in the next week or so.”
While BEP can’t control weather, the canceled concert has left a lot of angry fans following a not-so-great performance at the Super Bowl earlier in the year.
With Anti-BEP comments running on Twitter on Thursday night, some haters called it an act of God. But according to band member Taboo from a tweet, Fergie was really upset about the cancellation.
Hopefully, BEP will find a way to please their fans again.
And this time, please no more covers from Guns N’ Roses.
As the MuchMusic Video Awards are quickly approaching (six days!), plenty of fans are eagerly awaiting their favourite artists to rock downtown Toronto in one of Canada’s biggest block parties of the year.
From Simple Plan to Fefe Dobson and Avril Lavigne, plenty of Canadian artists will be on scene to deliver some serious music. And we’re here to explore some of this year’s top artists and performers.
Let’s start with Down With Webster. One of the most anticipated bands of the night, the group is nominated four times for the 2011 MMVAS. The band formed in 1998 at their junior high in Toronto’s Beach community, and after more than a decade of writing, producing, playing shows and perfecting their craft, the band is now set as one of the hottest Hip-Hop Rock groups in Canada.
When the band released their first Gold record ‘Time To Win, vol. 1,’ they spawned three platinum singles, including the ever-so-catchy ‘Rich Girl$,’ three number one videos, and millions of hits on YouTube. Timbaland has even called them “the illest group I’ve ever seen live.” How’s that for success?
The band has since toured across North America, going on to share the stage with some serious heavy hitters like 3Oh!3 and the Black Eyed Peas. They even hosted MuchMusic’s ‘Spring Break 2010′ episode in Cancun, Mexico, and delivered an exciting performance last year at the 2010 MMVAs with a live marching band.
This year, Down With Webster returns to sweep some awards again, this time with their full length debut ‘Time To Win, vol. II’ scheduled to arrive this fall. The first single, ‘She’s Dope,’ is already a hit. You’ll have to wait to see what the band delivers on MMVA night.
Check out an interview we did with the group below, where we ask them what makes good pop music!

Adele gives her money to charity and loved ones, reports Contact Music.
The jazz and blues singer claims she does so because she knows what it is like to struggle.
The 23-year-old singer claims she has had a tough upbringing, so after skyrocketing to fame, she wishes to help those in need.
“The cash has started trickling in, but I don’t come from any money so I help people. I give money to charity and to friends and family,” she says.
Adele hopes to take a break from making music soon, though, and insists she won’t hire help once she is on vacation.
“I have an assistant but I do my own washing. My auntie cleans for me, but I love a good clean as well,” she says to Britain’s Glamour magazine.
“And when all these squillion pounds come in, I’m having a f***ing break so I won’t need any help… I don’t need assistance getting myself to the pub.”
Just another reason to love her – very humble and hardworking. She definitely deserves a break too, and every penny she earns.
‘The White Stripes’ frontman Jack White and his wife, Karen Elson, have divorced on their anniversary and are throwing a divorce party, reports E Online.
The divorce comes after six years of marriage and two kids. But instead of a nasty court battle, the couple is sending invitations to close family and friends for a divorce party, to be thrown tonight.
“We remain dear and trusted friends and coparents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee,” the couple says in a joint statement. “We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow.”
“In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party, an evening together in Nashville to reaffirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.”
The couple, who got married on June 1, 2005, will celebrate tonight in Music City.
“Karen Elson and Jack White kindly request the presence…at a party to celebrate their 6th anniversary, and their upcoming divorce with a positive swing bang hum dinger,” the invite reads. “The party will include dancing, photos, memories and drinks with alcohol in them. This is only for close personal friends and family so please no plus ones or dead beats.”
Well, this is an odd twist. I like that the two can still be amicable, though, it’s how it should be. White seems like an interesting character so it somewhat doesn’t surprise me that he is throwing a “divorce party.”
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were involved in a high-speed car chase last week, reports Canoe Jam.
While Bieber was back in his hometown of Stratford, Ont., the pop star and his girlfriend, Gomez, apparently allowed his bodyguard, Kenny Hamilton, to drive recklessly through the streets of his hometown to avoid pursuing paparazzi.
The vehicle, a charcoal-coloured SUV, is said to have blown through red lights and speeded well above the legal limit.
The paparazzi were apparently tipped on Bieber’s whereabouts after fans tweeted that they say him at his grandfather’s house. A crowd then grew outside the home and three Toronto paparazzi were on site.
John White, celeb photographer, says: “Did I miss some shots because of my call not to follow? Yes, but I didn’t put anyone at risk either,” White said. “Really … putting people’s lives at risk just to avoid being photographed?”
I understand that the paparazzi can be annoying, but it’s not any better to risk the lives of everyone else around you. Then again, though, I don’t know what it’s like to be famous.
Singer/songwriter Jason Mraz has called off his engagement to fiancee Tristan Prettyman, reports Canoe Jam.
Mraz proposed to Prettyman just last December, but the couple has now split due to Mraz’s heavy workload.
The couple was waiting to walk down the aisle until gay marriage is legalized in the U.S., but now Mraz confirms that the engagement is off.
Telling The Daily Beast, Mraz says, “My greatest mistake right now is, I’ve been clinging to my art. In that, I have victory for my art and a great loss for my heart. At the moment, my beautiful fiancee is no longer my beautiful fiancee.”
“Two halves don’t make a whole. Two wholes make a whole. In my relationship, I was giving myself away to make the relationship better, but in actuality, wasn’t doing better by doing that. I became less of a man.”
He insists the two are still friends, though, and hang out together all the time.
“We are still super friends, we go to yoga together, we surf together. We acknowledge the journey that each of us is on. We certainly want each of us to feel whole and complete. And it’s when you’re whole and complete that that attraction exists and it really thrives.”
Mraz makes plenty of women swoon over his lyrics and music, so I’m sure he will find someone in no time. Maybe he should take a break and reconnect with his old flame.
Gwen Stefani says her solo career is over, reports Entertainment Weekly.
After two successful solo albums, 2004′s ‘L.A.M.B’ and 2006′s ‘The Sweet Escape,’ Stefani says she is done being a solo singer.
“That was a moment in time,” Stefani says. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … [But] everything works out how it should.”
Stefani now claims that she is focusing all her time on a new ‘No Doubt’ album, which fans are eagerly anticipating. It’s been nearly 10 years since the band released an album, and two years since they reunited for a summer tour.
The band is responsible for such hits as ‘It’s My Life,’ ‘Hella Good,’ and ‘Hey Baby.’
With nine kids onboard between the band and a totally changed music scene, I’m sure we can expect a totally different sound from the band. I’m very, very excited for this reunion, they’ve been a favourite of mine for as long as I can remember.
‘Glee’ star Chris Colfer has just penned a book deal, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The singer and actor has signed a two-book deal with ‘Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.’
Colfer will release two books, the first being an adventure novel touching on classic fairy tales, and the unrevealed second coming later. The first book, ‘The Land of Stories,’ is set to hit stores in summer 2012.
The star has previous experience as a writer, even writing the scripts for a Disney Channel pilot and the movie ‘Struck by Lightning.’
“When I was ten years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance,” Colfer says. “This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I’m excited and nervous to share it.”
I think this is a very smart career move. ‘Glee’ won’t last forever, so he needs to branch out. It is smart, though, to do children’s books, as that is his key demographic from ‘Glee.’ Smart businessman!
