Skrillex went solo for his new music video “Summit,” appearing sans ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding. Instead, the video features an anonymous brunette actress who parties with her night owl friends, eventually ending up at a Skrillex performance.
Idolator suggests the music video looks like an episode of the British teen drama Skins, which is totally true. I hope someone parties like this, somewhere. And if they do, please invite me.

The track is from Bangarang and was filmed by his friends in Perth.

Every once in a while we get a dance craze like “The Hitchhike” or “The Pony,” now rapper PROF is introducing a new move called “The Moron.” What does it entail exactly? Well, it’s an attitude more than anything else but his lyrics help us out a bit:
Shake it like a moron, girl, that’s perfect
So put your right leg in, [Leg in]
And throw your right leg out, [Leg out]
So put your right leg in. [Leg in]
Shake the motherfucker. [Good job]
So put your whole ass in, [Ass in]
And throw that whole ass out, [Ass out]
Put your whole ass in. [Ass in]
Shake the motherfucker. [Good job]
He demonstrates the choreography in the music video, which was released today. While I’m not going crazy over it, the video quickly started trending online, getting major praise from his fan group.
Taylor Swift’s dubstep-inspired track “I Knew You Were Trouble” finally has a video…and let’s just say she’s playing on the wilder side this time around.
The singer (who’s usually known for her sweet image) portrays a good girl gone bad while trying to make a tumultuous relationship with a troubled cutie work. So much so, that she even adopts an edgier outer appearance with a blunt bob with the ends of her hair dyed pink.
This video is strangely similar to Rihanna’s “We Found Love” and Lana Del Rey’s “Ride” where both singers deal with unhealthy but passionate affairs. But seeing that many of Taylor’s videos have been very fairy-tale like in the past, it’s refreshing to see her do something grittier.
(As for who the song is about, I’m still guessing John Mayer!)

Canadian hip-hop artist Classified is channeling his fighter side with his new video “Inner Ninja.” The video shows Classified suiting up in a ninja outfit, along with mini-Classified ninjas in training. Ultimately, the video is a visual side kick to the inspirational song which talks about the strength within. Something tells me that the various kids in the video might symbolize the strength the artist has had since he was little.
Fellow Canadian songwriter and performer David Myles makes several appearances in the video. The two sit side-by-side which goes along with the video’s theme of togetherness. In the end, the two have inspired the kids to defend themselves and channel their inner ninjas.
After they endlessly teased us with the lyric video and a behind the scenes look, Skylar Gray finally released her slightly NSFW music video for “C’mon Let Me Ride Your Bicycle,” featuring Eminem.
In the video, Skylar is a plaid-wearing flirt at a trailer park, who conspires against the blonde bimbos in her hood.

The track, which takes melodic inspiration from Queen’s “Bicycle Race,” is schexy right from the start. She sings “If you got a sweet tooth/ You can taste my water melons/ If the swing set bores you/ I can show you all my talents.” Then there’s the chorus: “C’mon let me ride your bicycle/ It’s so fantastical on your bicycle/ We can get a little more physical/ Baby after all it’s only natural.”

For such an epic song, I envisioned the music video for Imagine Dragons‘ “Radioactive” to be a little different than the one we got. The guys are locked up in the basement dungeon of some criminal mastermind running a fighting ring. But instead of pitbulls, the fighters are stuffed animals.
A mysterious woman brings a scraggly pink bear to fight against a nasty horned moster, hoping he dominates the ring and rescues the trapped rockers.

The track is from Imagine Dragons’ debut album Night Visions. I imagined something a little more post-apocalyptic, like survivors conquering zombies in a destroyed city. Still, it’s an interesting, if slightly kitschy storyline. Do you think it fits the song?

If you like that cute, shy girl in your biology class and want to make a move, watch this video in its entirety and do the exact OPPOSITE of everything he recommends. Specifically:
1. Don’t whisper creepily in her ear.
2. Don’t gyrate against classroom desks while your nerdy friend plays the keyboard behind you.
3. Don’t ask to look inside her shirt.
4. Don’t smell her hair.
5. Don’t sneak up behind her.

Worse, don’t choose an apathetic chick who will just sit there chewing her Hubba Bubba while you bust your butt trying to impress her. Flirting goes both ways, you know?
The hilarious music video for “Your Face I Like That Shit” was posted on IFockingHateThat and the song is available on iTunes.

Dear Britney Spears,
We meet again. It feels like yesterday when I was clutching onto my cassette tape of …Baby One More Time thinking, “this is the greatest thing I have ever owned.” But nowadays, we can all just click onto YouTube and watch your latest music videos as soon as they premiere. Last night was one of those nights.
Now while we’re all in love (literally infatuated) with your new video “Scream & Shout” with will.i.am, your own reaction seems to be a bit different. Cue classic Britney reaction gif here:
This was your exact reaction to the mention of the music video this week on The X-Factor. I’m a bit confused Britney. Are we all watching the same music video as you? Because you are clearly some sort of raven-eqsue goddess who casually juggles balls of fire in the video. The masterpiece deserve a reaction more like this:
That’s the spirit. Now while I’m sure many of your fans miss your kilt wearing days, the “Scream & Shout” video is of epic proportions. Not only is there one Britney in the video, but multiple Britneys doing some sort of hypnotic dance. You pretty much own the video by strutting your stuff across the screen, with a “bow down to me” attitude. I wish you had this same sort of confidence whenever someone mentions your videos.
One thing’s for sure — it’s Britney, b*tch. And you are here to stay.
Sincerely,
Nadya
In Tegan and Sara’s new music video “Closer” they host a basement karaoke party for all their friends, dancing by a makeshift teepee, taking photos of themselves in froufrou dresses and spinning the old glass bottle. The party reminds me of post-prom high school bashes, except it’s way cooler because they’re completely free of any parental guidance.

It all comes down to the romantic midnight kisses, because really, we all just want to get a little closer at the end of the day.
Considering how much I’ve been hearing this catchy dance track lately, I’m surprised Tegan and Sara only released it now. The track is from their forthcoming album Heartthrob, which is due out on Jan. 29, 2013.

Florence + the Machine’s dark new video for “Lover To Lover” chronicles a fading housewife living in a shabby old home trying to repair a damaged relationship with a verbally abusive lover.
Her intimidating gent is played by Ben Mendelsohn, who kind of looks like a Wild West cowboy with his untamed moustache. After a seemingly endless cycle of fighting and making up, Flo burns their possessions and dives into the freezing cold ocean in a bleak but powerful final gesture.
Florence Welch told Nowness: ”The waves were enormous, it was freezing cold and four in the morning — I was weeping all the way in I was so scared.”
“Lover To Lover” is the latest track from the group’s sophomore album Ceremonials. The video was directed by Vincent Haycock.

In Ellie Goulding’s new video for “Figure 8″ she plays a lover tormented by a relationship that’s going in circles… or rather, a figure 8. The pink-haired, electro-pop singer writhes in agony on her bed, levitates and wraps herself in a single red sheet, highlighting her restlessness — it must have been one messy breakup.
This is the second single from her album Halycon and sets a common theme throughout the entire record.

Taylor Swift was all grunged out while shooting her music video for “I Knew You Were Trouble” today. On top of wearing a black leather jacket and cutoff denim shorts, her tousled hair was chalked with pink at the ends. The look perfectly fits with the dubstep-vibe of the song and I’m stoked to see her in something other than a 1950s princess dress (although those are also pretty major).
There are no plot details right now but funnily enough Taylor is the one who looks like trouble in her badass outfit rather than the plaid-wearing hunk she’s standing next to.
Taylor is filming the video straight off going to the AMAs last night. HOW DOES SHE DO IT?
To tide you over until Kelly Clarkson’s Greatest Hits — Chapter 1 album, she released her music video for “Catch My Breath.” The video is pretty plotless, serving instead as an homage to Clarkson’s beauty. The video features Clarkson singing in a long, dark gown, punctuated visuals of the elements.
The song is the lead single from her the forthcoming album, out on Nov. 16.

The final single off Ed Sheeran’s debut album ‘+’ finally has a music video. But before you go and watch it, you better bring some tissues.
Fresh off from penning One Direction’s latest single ‘Little Things’ , “Give Me Love” tells the story of not falling in love, but love lost. Featuring a sad and lonely angel played by Australian actress Isabel Lucas, the video has her playing cupid, shooting arrows at random people to make them fall in love.
While Sheeran doesn’t appear much in the music video, fans will be glad to see him sitting in a cafe drinking coffee as Lucas’ character looks at him sadly. While I’m not entirely sure what all of this means, my guess is that Lucas’ character is in love with the singer but isn’t able to get him.
It’s a dark and artistic video by Sheeran, who’s previously featured Rupert Grint as his impersonator in the music video for ‘Lego House.’ But considering the melancholy tone of the song, I think this piece is lovely yet tragically romantic.

A new music video called “It’s Thanksgiving” was released yesterday from ARK Music Factory by one Nicole Westbrook, whose song is so cheesy it reaches Rebecca Black territory…. meme territory. She will be a gif.
Oh wait! She already is:
The song is basically the holiday-edition of “Friday,” which makes sense considering it comes from Patrice Wilson, the same guy who did Black’s 2011 ARK Music Factory song. We know he’s just banking off the tackiness at this point but I hope Westbrook has the strength to withstand catty Internet commenters. Westbrook’s auto-tuning isn’t as terrible as Black’s, but the lyrics and music video are on par — just wait until she starts singing with the turkey drumstick.
Next, I’d love to see a Christmas edition duet with Westbrook and Black. Let’s make it happen!

Rihanna’s new video “Diamonds” is more about raw emotion and visuals rather than a tangible plot. The singer is stripped of a fanciful wardrobe and dramatic makeup so we can focus on the power of the scenes unfolding around her. She rolls and smokes a cigarette filled with diamonds before the walls literally start falling around her.
The Anthony Mandler-directed video transitions between colour and black and white scenes of her floating in water, desperately running away from something (though we don’t know what), hanging out with a black stallion and witnessing violent scenes of war. It’s clearly stacked with symbolism, though it doesn’t bother me as much as it bothers other commenters.
Rihanna told MTV the visuals were very important to the story. “With ‘Diamonds,’ it was just a series of vignettes that we put together to help get the emotion across throughout the song ’cause the song changes and it builds, and there’s no real way that you could do that,” she explained. “You just want people to feel that and I wanted little cutaways of interactions that would give you the right emotion.”
“Diamonds” will be on her forthcoming album Unapologetic, out Nov. 19. And don’t forget to enter our Rihanna contest, ending Nov. 14.

Not surprisingly, The Weeknd‘s new music video for “The Zone” ft. Drake includes tons of dark, artsy shots of Abel Tesfaye singing in creepy abandoned rooms and hallways. It’s all very sombre.
These moody shots are contrasted with clips of a bright, cheery woman wearing white lingerie in a room with colourful balloons.
He sings: “Why you rushing me baby/ It’s only us alone/ I don’t wanna die tonight baby/ So let me sip this slow/ I’ll give you what you called for/ Just let me get in my zone.”
The Weeknd’s new album Trilogy drops Nov. 13.

When we last heard from Lana Del Rey, she was killing dudes in the middle of no where for her “Ride” video. Now, her new video for “Bel Air” shows an angelic Del Rey standing in the midst of candy-coloured clouds. It’s a drastic contrast, but I really like it. The artistic video shows a rather sad looking Lana glancing up at the camera, paired with slow-mo hair flips. It sounds really boring, but something tells me the video is a bit more symbolic then it comes off at first.
Though Lana is doing next to nothing in the video, the colour changes definitely mean something. After several clips of yellows, blues, greens, and pinks, Del Rey is seen in black and white. The artsy part of my soul is sounding the alarm here. Whatever the video means, it’s very pretty. I’m also digging the fact that she’s totally channeling Wendy Darling from “Peter Pan” in that white nightgown. Maybe I’m reading in to the video too much.
Watch “Bel Air” here:
In Ke$ha’s new music video “Die Young” she plays a sexy cult goddess leading a hedonistic tribe of sex-crazed ruffians at the end of the world. It there’s one thing the leather-clad vagabonds like more than group makeup sessions with their fierce leader, it’s pentagrams. Lots and lots of pentagrams, a symbol for anything from religion to occult beliefs.
Ke$ha is carried from their getaway car (a Hearst) to an abandoned church in Mexico where they engage in SALACIOUSNESS, even though the rest of the world is flipping out about the apocalypse.
“Everybody else is kind of scared and hiding and we are running around like wild people, making out with each other and taking over a small border town in Mexico,” she told Capital FM. “The federalis are after us because we’re so wild!”
The new video can only be called tres “Ke$ha.” Would you join her cult?

Kid Cudi drives through a trippy galaxy-on-earth with King Chip in his new music video for “Just What I Am,” and the tumblr-esque golden frame makes it at least 10 times better.
The Cudi-directed video is pretty simple, capturing the rapper and his friends at a party, pounding booze out of little red cups. Mac Miller and Steve Aoki make random appearances. Though I’m loving the rainbow flourishes and scratchy film stock a lot of commenters on YouTube are complaining about Illuminati imagery in the video:
Conspiracy theories aside, what do you think of the music video?
