Kate Hudson Pregnant With ‘Muse’ Frontman

You know that scene in “The Other Guys” when Mark Wahlberg goes to Will Ferrell’s house and sees that he’s married to Eva Mendes, and cant effin believe it? “No seriously, who is that? Why are you married to him?”

Similar situation here.

E Online is reporting that lead singer of The Muse, the eccentric Matthew Bellamy, is having a child with the beautiful, bubbly Kate Hudson. Kate already has a son with Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson and is continuing her trend of having children with terribly ugly men. Hopefully I’m next.

Bellamy and Hudson got together last year and officially announced their relationship to the world when some public kanoodling was seen at a Muse show in Paris last July. Jealoussss.

Former Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante Voted Best Guitarist of the Past 30 Years

Yes, that’s right and it’s red hot.

Former Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist, John Frusciante, has been voted the best guitarist of the last 30 years, reports CHARTattack. The voting was done in a BBC 6music listeners’ poll.

Frusciante left the Chili Peppers this past December.

But, since 1980, there has been no greater guitarist than Frusciante.

Frusciante beat out many great guitarists for the top spot. He beat former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, as well as Muse front man Matthew Bellamy and Tom Morello.

Overall, Frusciante picked up 13.9 per cent of the votes.

Just recently, the top guitarist of the last 30 years, contributed his talent to Man Meat, Swahili Blonde’s debut album, to be released July 6.

Frusciante is also the executive producer for Mars Volta axeman Omar Rodriguez-Lopez’s The Sentimental Engine Slayer debut album, and plans to release two albums with Rodriguez-Lopez sometime this year.

Frusciante also beat out Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood, and Jack White.

Catch Band of Skulls In Concert And On The New Moon Soundtrack

If you haven’t heard of “Band of Skulls,” you will very soon. These UK rockers had the first ever global iTunes “Single of the Week” back in April for their debut song “I Know What I am,” and they just keep taking the rock world by storm.

The trio were voted Best Live Band at Toronto’s NXNE festival in June and are fresh off Lollapalooza. Twi-hards may already know “Band of Skulls” has been confirmed to be included alongside Radiohead and Muse in the upcoming “New Moon” Soundtrack, out in November.

The alternative rockers will be touring across Canada throughout September in support of their debut album “Baby Darling Doll Face Honey,” currently available in Canada. Canadian tour stops include Vancouver (Sept. 3), Calgary (Sept. 4), Edmonton (Sept. 5), Ottawa (Sept. 7), Montreal (Sept. 9) and Toronto (Sept. 11).

In the meantime, check out the video for the uber catchy “I Know What I Am.”

Green Benefit Album To Feature Feist, Muse

Feist, Muse, Of Montreal, Bloc Party, Deerhoof, The Exit and a host of other artists are going green for an environmentally friendly benefit album.

Green Owl Records, founded by musicians Ben Brewer, Ellenike Abreu and Stephen Glicken, is releasing its first CD/DVD compilation which will feature previously unreleased tracks from the above artists and others.

“The Green Owl Comp: A Benefit For The Energy Action Coalition” will be released digitally to cut down on waste, and also as a physical release packaged in 100 per cent post-consumer paper.

The compilation features a 16-track audio CD and a DVD with eight music videos, an interview with Energy Action Coalition (EAC) founder Billy Parish and eight bonus audio tracks.

All proceeds will go to EAC, a project of more than 40 youth-led clean energy organizations in the U.S. and Canada.

The compilation will be available starting April 8.

Muse Ready CD/DVD Package

Fresh off a win for best live act at last month’s NME Awards, Muse have announced they will release a CD/DVD set titled “HAARP” on April 1.

The package will feature the U.K. trio rocking the stage during their two consecutive sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium last June.

The CD is a recording of the first concert on June 16, while the DVD features the second show on June 17.

The band played in front of a crowd of 75,000 on both nights, drawing mainly from their two most recent albums, 2003′s “Absolution” and 2006′s “Black Holes and Revelations.”

The latter was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize and came in third in NME’s 2006 Albums of the Year list.

The band plans to release their fifth studio album later this year.
