In George Watsky’s new video for “Difference is the Differences” he reminisces about simultaneously being the best and worst kid in school and doing some drugs though he would never pop a pill. He skirts the fine line between badass and reasonable: “Suspended the same month I won the city science fair/ I won most likely to succeed and teachers nightmare/ guess I was quite scary, some hate a binary”
The rapper/slam poet went viral in 2011 with his video “Pale Kid Raps Fast” — like 55 million views viral. Check out his video below, shot by Alan Gwizdowski. “Difference is the Differences” is a remix of Dr. Dre’s “What’s the Difference.” Watsky’s free mixtape Nothing Like the First Time will be out on June 10.

In advance of his debut album Paradise, Cody Simpson is throwing you one with his free mixtape Angels & Gentleman. His first LP isn’t coming out for another month so this is supposed to tide you Angels over until then.
The 15-year-old Aussie shows off his eclectic taste with this mix, which includes Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People” and Rihanna’s “You Da One.” Although the covers aren’t really re-imagined, you can’t deny he has a velvet voice.

When Wiz Khalifa tweeted the link to his new mixtape “Taylor Allderdice”around 9 pm on Tuesday and it was so popular that it crashed the website, DatPiff.
Luckily, the tape is back up and running now. It’s in advance of his new studio album O.N.I.F.C, which will be released later this year.
The songs are more in line with the Wiz Khalifa who released “Rolling Papers.” Take the weed-inspired lyrics of Never Been Part II: ”I’m just smoking, living life like in the movies / That I watch in my jacuzzi / Roll another doobie / See what’s newest on Netflix, order another movie.” That same song features Rick Ross and his new fiance Amber Rose.
Also, I love the piano backing Mia Wallace. What’s your fave?

Hot off the release of his third studio album, “Lasers”, Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco is back with a new mixtape titled “Friends of the People.”
Lupe had a much earlier release date in mind for the mixtape but things had to be put on hold so he could climb Mount Kilimanjaro with famous faces like Jessica Biel and Kenna.
Hopefully, with this mixtape, Lupe can continue climbing up the charts. The 12-track album included “The End of the World” which samples M83′s track “Midnight City”, a song heard in every Urban Outfitters around the world. What is msot intruiging about the upcoming release are the cheeky song titles. There’s one titled after acclaimed actor Joaquin Pheonix and another one named after his favourite item on the McDonalds menu. Let’s not forget track six, which looks like something a high-school stoner titled, ”WWJD He’d probably LOL Like WTF!!!”
Prefix has all the deets on how you can download Lupe’s techno-infused mixtape.

Motopony’s been getting a lot of buzz lately for the first single, King of Diamonds. They’ve got a nice 70s rock feel to them, with a fantastic drum backing. We sat down with them to go over the inspiration they draw from the Doors, Jungle music, and from the mixtapes their fans send them.
Even when said mixtapes are full of random Janet Jackson tracks from the mid 90s.
