After just two episodes, The CW has pulled the plug on The Beautiful Life, starring Mischa Barton. Perez Hilton reports the drama, produced by Ashton Kutcher, failed to get the ratings needed to keep it on the air.

Production for the new CW series The Beautiful Life, starring Mischa Barton has been postponed a week to July 31, reports Reuters. Sources close to the show say the reason for the delay is that some sets were not completed on time.

However, Barton’s recent unspecified “medical issues” have caused speculation that she may be re-cast. Perez Hilton reports a new character will be added to the series, and the actress will play a role strikingly similar to Barton’s character in both looks and personality. There are no reports on who will play the role.

The Beautiful Life is executive produced by Ashton Kutcher and scheduled to premiere September 16. The series is about a group of models living in a co-ed residence in New York. Barton, who has been absent from television screens since her departure from Fox drama The O.C., will play a veteran supermodel struggling to stay on top of the high-fashion circuit.

Mischa Barton, former star of the TV show “The O.C.” was removed from her L.A. home by the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday.

LAPD spokesperson Richard French told MTV News on Thursday (July 16): “It was apparently yesterday a little after 3 in the afternoon, and one of the patrol units in West L.A. division responded to her home for a medical issue.”

Craig Schneider, the actresses rep told People in a statement, “Police were involved due to Ms. Barton’s celebrity status, to safely transfer her to medical treatment as per doctor’s orders,” Schneider said, adding that the actress is now “OK and resting.”

These “medical issues” are preventing Barton from attending the premiere for her latest film, “Homecoming.” Producer Austin Stark said to People, “There were some medical problems. She’s not able to travel, as far as I know.”

“Homecoming” director Morgan J. Freeman also responded to the news that the 23-year-old actress won’t be attending the movie’s premiere, through a statement issued to Access Hollywood. “I along with everyone on the ‘Homecoming’ team are saddened to hear that Mischa Barton will not be able to attend the film’s premiere tonight in New York,” he said. “Her performance in ‘Homecoming’ is fantastic, and she will be missed at our premiere.”

Mischa Barton is graduating from high school to high fashion.

The actress, who played Marissa Cooper on “The O.C.” over three seasons, has signed on to star in the CW drama pilot “A Beautiful Life.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Ashton Kutcher-produced project follows a group of models living together in a co-ed residence in New York. Cooper, 23, will play a veteran supermodel who is struggling to stay on top.

Barton, who herself has modeled for such companies as Calvin Klein and Dooney & Bourke, recently spoke to PEOPLE about her new role.

“Ashton developed it about his life growing up as a model from Iowa, so it’s about the whole fashion world that he was in, and obviously I have a lot of friends in the fashion world, so I’m used to being around a lot of people in that,” she told the magazine.

Barton’s casting debunks recent rumours that she will star in the CW’s “Melrose Place” revival.

Since leaving “The O.C.” in 2006, Barton’s film credits have included “Closing the Ring,” “Assassination of a High School President” and the upcoming “Bhopal: Prayer for Rain.”

Mischa Barton was sentenced to three years probation in LA yesterday after pleading no contest to DUI charges.

The 22-year-old actress was also given a $2,000 fine and ordered to attend a three-month alcohol-education class.

Barton was also caught with possession of marijuana when she was arrested in late December, but the drug possession charges were dropped.

The London-born actress is best known for starring in the hit teen soap “The O.C.”

Former O.C. star Mischa Barton has accepted a plea deal in her DUI case.

The deal will save the young star from spending any time in jail, People magazine reports. Barton is set to plead no contest and accept three years of unsupervised probation at her arraignment on Thursday.

Barton’s other charges will also be lessened. The marijuana possession charge will be dropped and the “charge of driving without a license will be reduced to an infraction,” according to the magazine’s source.

The 22-year-old will also have to go to alcohol education classes for three months.

She was arrested on Dec. 27 after she was found weaving between traffic.

Mischa Barton gave an impromptu performance of Britney Spears’ hit song ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’ during a night out partying.

The former ‘O.C.’ actress was enjoying an evening out in London on Tuesday (28.11.06) when she decided to treat revellers at the trendy Paper nightclub to some of her singing.

Mischa, 20, jumped on stage and launched into the famous track, and even treated clubbers to a sexy dance routine.

One onlooker said: “She got on stage clutching a microphone and a bottle of champagne. She seemed a bit drunk, but her singing was good. She certainly can hold a note.”

Mischa isn’t the only young star who has been enjoying London’s nightlife this week.

Christina Aguilera racked up a massive £2,000 bar bill while partying in the UK capital on Tuesday (28.11.06).

The ‘Beautiful’ singer wasted no time getting into the party spirit at Kabarets Prophecy club, and she was later seen being carried out of the
venue by her bodyguards after apparently having too much champagne. However, the 25-year-old star’s unsteady exit was later blamed on exhaustion.

A source said: “Not only is she very little but she was quite tired because she’s in the middle of her tour. She only sipped a few glasses of Veuve
Clicquot champagne and one vodka shot. Her party still ran up a pretty sizable £2,000 bar bill, though.”

Mischa Barton, star of The O.C. has broken up with her boyfriend, Brandon Davis, according to People Magazine.

They had been dating for more than a year.

“They are no longer together but they remain close friends,” said Craig Schneider, her publicist.

No details have been released as to the cause of the split, but Schneider said a third party was not involved.

Barton and Davis, grandson of billionaire Martin Davis, began dating in February 2004 after meeting at a charity function.

Barton is currently back on the set of The O.C. after filming a new movie in Europe.
