Australian sweetheart Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week prior to her Australian Showgirl Tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” a statement from her management read.
Minogue, 36, postponed her Australian tour after the news broke on Tuesday.
“I was so looking forward to bringing the Showgirl tour to Australian audiences, and am sorry to have to disappoint my fans,” she said in a statement. “Nevertheless, hopefully all will work out fine and I’ll be back with you all again soon.”
She will undergo immediate treatment.
Her tour was to visit several Australian cities over the next few weeks. She was also scheduled to headline England’s famed Glastonbury festival in June.
Minogue shot to fame in the 1980s with hits such as her version of “The Loco-Motion.” She reemerged in 2002 with the mega-hit single “Can’t Get You out of My Head.”
