Mike Douglas, host of the “The Mike Douglas Show” which ran from 1961-1982, has died at the age of 81, Reuters reports.

Douglas’ talk show featured guests such as Bill Cosby, Bob Hope and Marlon Brando, among others.

The talk show host was also a popular big band singer before he had his own talk show. He sang such hits as “Ole Buttermilk Sky” and “The Old Lamplighter,” and was the voice for Prince Charming in Disney’s animated film “Cinderella.”

“He was a genuine, nice guy — not a mean bone in his body. He had a geniality about him. It was easy to be around him,” CNN’s Larry King said about Douglas.

Douglas died earlier today, which, ironically, is also his birthday.
