Men Want Apology for Michael Richards’ Racist Rant

We’ve all heard the story about Kramer going Krazy, with former Seinfeld star Michael Richards’ racist tirade making the rounds on YouTube worldwide.

Now, two men have come forward, seeking a personal apology and maybe a little cash from the comedian. Frank McBride and Kyle Doss say they were the ones who Richards’ accused of interrupting his act at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. McBride and Doss say they were ordering drinks, according to their attorney Gloria Allred.

One thing led to another, and Richards was soon screaming obscenities and using the n-word. The whole exchange was taped on a cell phone and later posted on YouTube.com.

Richards has since apologized, nationally on David Letterman’s “Late Night” show earlier this week, and to civil rights leaders the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton.

But Allred said on Friday that Richards has yet to apologize to his victims directly. She suggested he meet with the two men to apologize and allow a judge to make a decision on possible monetary compensation.

Richards’ publicist, Howard Rubenstein, said the comedian wants to apologize to the two men but says he hasn’t been able to find them.

Michael Richards Under Fire, Shouts Racial Slurs During Performance

The actor most known, and often only known, for playing the role of Kramer on the most popular sitcom ever, Seinfeld, is about to get the door slammed shut by Hollywood.

Michael Richards career, as if it hadn’t been already, is surely now over after a video leaked to the internet showing him repeatedly yelling the N-word to a black audience member while doing a standup routine at a Los Angeles comedy Club on Friday.

Richards, apparently interrupted by the audience member who had been talking during his set, perhaps even heckling, began a racial tirade.

“Fifty years ago we’d have you upside down with a f***ing fork up your ass,” Richards said, as the video shows. The video was posted at TMZ.com (Warning: TMZ has censored some cursing, but the racist remarks are left in).

He referred to the man as the N-word about 20 times before the man walked out. That man or another man in the audience shouted, “that’s uncalled for” several times.

Some members of the audience laughed. They were all in disbelief. Many, including the man being yelled at, walked out. Richards left the stage after about two minutes of yelling.

Richards has not yet released a statement.

Jerry Seinfeld released a stern statement today.

“I am sick over this,” said Seinfeld. “I’m sure Michael is also sick over this horrible, horrible mistake. It is so extremely offensive. I feel terrible for all the people who have been hurt.”

Richards had trouble finding work after Seinfeld. Playing the loveable next-door neighbour Kramer, Richards took on another crazy role with his own sitcom, “The Michael Richards Show,” but it never found an audience and was cancelled soon after it debuted.
