Catherine Zeta Jones Treated for Bipolar Disorder

Catherine Zeta Jones has had a rough year. She has consistently been at her husband, Michael Douglas’s side through his terrifying fight with cancer. Due to the stress of the whole situation Zeta Jones has sought mental health treatment for herself.

Her rep says in a statement that, ”After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder.” The actress checked into an unidentified facility where she underwent treatment and apparently, ”she’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”

Additionally, Douglas, announced in January he was declared free of cancer after what he called a “wild six-month ride” of chemotherapy and radiation for a tumor on his tongue.

The whole family is now healthy and ready to continue with their lives. Zeta Jones is in top shape to begin production on her new films.

Celeb Homes Threatened by Montecito Fire

Eonline! is reporting that the residences of several celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Rob Lowe, Michael Douglas, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Costner and Jeff Bridges, are being threatened by a fast-growing wildfire that has broken out in Montecito, California.

The fire started around 6 p.m. Thursday evening and has spread across 2,500 acres. 100 residences have already been burned, and if the fire continues, 1,500 more homes could be at risk.

Actor Michael Douglas Settles Lawsuit

Michael Douglas has settled a lawsuit he launched against two Florida companies that he said had improperly used his name and image for commercial gain.

Federal court records show that the settlement was agreed to last month, and the suit was formally closed on June 27, according to the Associated Press.

The 61-year-old claimed in the lawsuit that footage he shot for educational purposes ended up being used by Family Television Studios, Inc. and Paradigm Media Group, L.L.C. to lure sponsors for unaired and unproduced segments.

Though terms of the settlement have not been released, but Douglas’ suit sought an end to the use of his likeness, any profits made from the segments, compensation of more than $75,000 US, and lawyer’s fees.

Catherine Zeta-Jones Stalker Jailed

Dawnette Knight, the woman accused of stalking and sending threatening letters to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, has been jailed for 3 years, according to the Associated Press.

Knight, 35, was charged with one count of stalking and three counts of making criminal threats in a Los Angeles courtroom.

Zeta-Jones did not appear in the courtroom but wrote a response to Knight, which was read aloud by prosecuter Debra Archuleta.

“You have profoundly affected me in how I conduct my life. Your actions will be with me for the rest of my life,” wrote the actress. “You are just a criminal,” added Zeta-Jones, calling Knight “evil.”

Knights’ attourney, Richard Herman admitted his client had received “a very kind sentence”. She could have received 5 years instead.

More than two dozen letters had been sent to Zeta-Jones and her friends, including husband Michael Douglas.

One of the letters indicated Knight made plans to “slice her up (Zeta-Jones) like meat on a bone and feed her to the dogs.”

She later explained her actions were the result of a “girlish crush” on Douglas and made an appology.

Superior Court Judge David Mintz also imposed a 10-year restraining order on Knight and was fined with a $200 restitution fine. She could be released as early as a year for credit for time served.

Previously working as a nursing assistant, Knight said she wishes to later return to school to get her license.
