McCartney and Mills Marriage Officially Over

Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills’ are finally divorced—as pronounced by a London judge today. High Court Justice Hugh Bennet granted the pair a decree nisi, the final step to the finalized divorce under British law, due to the fact the couple had been living separate for two years now.

“On the petition for divorce presented by Miss Heather Mills, I pronounce the decree nisi of divorce on the grounds of two years’ separate,” the judge said. “Sir Paul McCartney has consented to the decree being granted on these grounds.”

Neither McCartney nor Mills attended the proceeding. In six weeks and a day, the terms of the split announced in March will be made final. Bennett awarded Mills $48.6 million, $34,000 for each day she and the former Beatle star were married.

The activist and former glamour model and singer-songwriter have a four year old daughter together named Beatrice.

McCartney To Pay Mills £70 Million?

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY will pay out $140 million (£70 million) to his estranged wife HEATHER MILLS in their divorce settlement, according to media reports.

The couple are currently in discussions to settle their divorce without a trial following their May 2006 split after just under four years of marriage.

British newspaper Daily Mail reports the former Beatle will pay Mills a lump sum of $30 million (£15 million), then an annual payment of $7 million (£3.5 million) until their three-year-old daughter Beatrice reaches 18.

The Mail claims the couple will sign a clause forbidding them from discussing their marriage in the press.

In court papers leaked last year (06), Mills accused McCartney of physically abusing her during their marriage and claimed he was regularly stoned on marijuana.

The couple’s divorce case is set for a five-day hearing in London’s High Court next February (08). (ES/WNTMA/MEH)

McCartney & Starr Team Up With Beatles Widows For Primetime Interview

BEATLES SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and RINGO STARR made TV history in America on Tuesday night when they teamed up with GEORGE HARRISON and JOHN LENNON’s widows for a one-of-a-kind primetime interview.

The quartet took part in the interview after paying tribute to Harrison and Lennon at a plaque-unveiling ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the Fab Four-inspired L.O.V.E musical spectacular in Las Vegas.

The widows, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, kicked off the historic TV chat with CNN host Larry King and talked about the Beatles “extended family” and the magic of the L.O.V.E. show.

King took his talk show to Las Vegas’ Mirage Hotel, where the Beatles musical has been playing to packed houses, for the special interview.

McCartney and Starr, wearing matching black suits, later joined the L.O.V.E. interview.

McCartney told King he was impressed with the Cirque du Soleil show the first time he saw it, adding, “It’s really beautiful, it’s a great show.”

But he admitted he wasn’t sold on the idea of a circus troupe re-imagining the Beatles’ hits at first.

He explained, “The thing was, ‘OK, the two things sound good together, but what are we gonna do…? I kept saying, ‘It’s like we’re gonna be in a film with (Steven) Spielberg… That’s great, but what’s the script?’”

The two Beatles laughed and joked about their history together and the magical moments they shared.

At one point McCartney held Starr’s hand to show King what happened the last time he sat with late bandmate Harrison, who lost his cancer battle in 2001.

The Yesterday singer recalled, “I got to see him a short time before he died… We sat, stroking hands, like this, and this was a guy I’d known since he was a little kid and you don’t stroke hands with guys like that. It was just beautiful.”

After the interview, the quartet joined King for a first anniversary performance of the L.O.V.E. show.

Mills Slams Dancing With The Stars Report

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has slammed reports she has signed up for US reality TV show DANCING WITH THE STARS.

Reports that broke yesterday suggested the former model would be a contestant and donate her earnings to an animal welfare charity.

Mills’ attorney has rubbished the reports, telling American publication Us Weekly they are “not true.”

Former contestant JERRY SPRINGER will announce the new participants next week. The show debuts in the US on March 19.

McCartney ‘Settles’ Divorce

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has reportedly agreed to a $63 million divorce settlement with his estranged wife HEATHER MILLS, after a bitter six-month battle over the former BEATLE’s vast fortune.

McCartney split from his second wife Mills in May last year after four years of marriage, and began divorce proceedings in July.

The 64-year-old has allegedly agreed to hand over his $7.8 million home in St John’s Wood, London to the former model, as well as his $11.8 million mansion in Beverly Hills, California, according to British newspaper News Of The World.

The out-of-court settlement means McCartney will never have to publicly defend himself against Mills’ claims of physical abuse while she was pregnant with their daughter BEATRICE in 2003, as stated in court papers filed by the 39-year-old’s legal team.

Sir Paul and Kelly Clarkson Join List of Grammy Performers

Paul McCartney and Kelly Clarkson will make their Grammy performance debuts next week the 48th annual awards show.

The former Beatle and American Idol will join an extensive list of performers at L.A.?s Staples Center, it was announced Thursday.

McCartney is nominated for three Grammys this year: Album of the Year, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Clarkson is in the running for Best Female Pop Vocal Performancee and Best Pop Vocal Album.

The Recording Academy also announced on Thursday that Ciara would take part the an all-star tribute to funk legends Sly and the Family Stone. She?ll be joining Legend, Joss Stone, Robert Randolph, Maroon 5, the Black Eyed Peas? Will.I.Am, and Aerosmith?s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

Previously announced acts include Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Faith Hill with Keith Urban, U2 with Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx with Kanye West, Christina Aguilera with Herbie Hancock, and Madonna with the Gorillaz.
