Chad Michael Murray is No longer

Remember that show, One Tree Hill, which followed the lives of a bunch of friends in high school? It was a good show, I miss it. Oh wait…it’s still on, isn’t it? Awkward!

Chad Michael Murray – or should we now say, Chad Murray – is dropping his middle name, Michael, in an attempt to “reshape his image”, according to Perez Hilton, becoming…drumroll please: Chad Murray. Is this what z-listers do now when they’re bored?

The former One-Tree-Hiller, who left the show a couple of seasons ago, is still grateful for the experience. The actor said:

“I’m grateful to have had it. I’m fortunate to have had it. I learned so, so very much from so many people. I was able to kind of grow up and become the man I’m becoming today. I just feel very fortunate to have been in that position, to be in Wilmington, North Carolina, to be in place that’s kind of smaller than Los Angeles. It’s just different. I enjoyed my experience there.” Wonder how much he got paid to say that one.

Perez goes on to report that Murray says his dream is to works with the likes of Darren Aronofsky, Martin Scorsese and Terry Gillam. “I love The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” says Murray. “It’s what film should be about. It’s true imagination where you go anywhere. It was just so beautiful. Definitely one of my top 10 films.”

It’s uncertain whether he’ll return for the finale of the show – which I am still sceptical to believe since this seems to be the show that doesn’t give up, even after it loses its main character – but we can only hope that Luke will return to Tree Hill for one last time!

Don’t get me wrong, I do love Chad, but come on – how can a true fan of One Tree Hill not hate him for making the show absolutely terrible after he left?

But for now, we all have his April cover of Troix magazine to look forward to! Can’t wait!

Martin Scorsese to Direct Wolf Of Wallstreet With Leonardo DiCaprio

Wolf Of Wallstreet is a film that has been long in the works. Director, Ridley Scott has just dropped out of the project due his new development the Alien prequel, Prometheus. According to Totalfilm.com, veteran director, Martin Scorsese has just signed on to direct the film and he will be working with his favorite young actor, none other than Leonardo DiCaprio. This will mark the fifth time that the duo has collaborated.

Wolf Of Wallstreet is based on Jordan Belfort’s autobiographical novel. The story follows Belfort’s rise and demise. He was one of the most infamous names in American finance, a savvy millionaire stock-trader. But as the story goes, Belfort got a little off track and found himself in a whirlpool drugs, alcohol, sex, and just happened to sink a 170ft motor yacht. He ended up in prison for 22 months on charges of market manipulation.The story line sounds something like a mix between a Bret Easton Ellis novel (American Psycho) and a Thom Wolfe novel (Bonfire of the Vanities).

Hopefully Scorsese and DiCaprio will deliver. They certainly need a comeback after last year’s atrocity, Shutter Island.

Before directing Wolf Of Wallstreet, Scorsese has another project in the works, Silence, also a book adaptation a Jesuit drama set in the 17th century that follows two priests facing Japanese persecution.

Martin Scorcese Wants To Work With Rupert Grint

We’re not sure we see this one, but hey, Martin Scorsese knows a heck of a lot better than we do.

The legendary film director has said that he believes Rupert Grint, known more commonly as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, could be the next big thing in male acting, reports PerezHilton.

“I thought [Grint] was a great actor in the Harry Potter movies,” Scorsese reportedly told sources. “In a lot of scenes, the boy stole the show.”

Scorsese explains the importance of branching out into different roles to avoid risk of being typecast as Ron Weasley forever.

“He will always have respect for the movies that gave him such a huge break, but at his age it’s important he doesn’t become a typecast,” the director said. “He has to do something really out of his comfort zone in the next few years – play a gangster, play a dirty cop, play a kid with learning difficulties. I would be interested in working with him.”

“I would have no issues casting him as a gangster, he is a very talented young man,” he continued. “When Leo [DiCaprio] was in Titanic and Romeo and Juliet, nobody saw him becoming a bad ass in movies like The Departed. But he has become one of the greatest actors of all time. The very same could be true for Rupert.”

Scorsese Pilot Adds Michael Pitt

Michael Pitt is going back to the Roaring Twenties.

The “Last Days” actor is in final negotiations to join the cast of “Boardwalk Empire,” Martin Scorsese’s new drama pilot for HBO.

“Empire,” which will be directed and co-executive produced by Scorsese, is based on the Nelson Johnson book that chronicles the origins of Atlantic City, N.J. in the 1920s.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pitt will play Jimmy Darmody, an intelligent and ambitious WWI veteran who acts as a flunky for Nucky Johnson (Steve Buscemi), a cunning businessman who heads a liquor distribution ring at the start of Prohibition.

Kelly Macdonald (“No Country for Old Men”) has also been cast in the pilot.

Pitt’s credits include a recurring role on “Dawson’s Creek” and appearances in such films as “Bully,” “The Dreamers” and “Funny Games.”

Bob Marley Documentary Has New Director

Martin Scorsese is stepping aside as the director of an upcoming documentary about legendary reggae artist, Bob Marley.

Jonathan Demme who directed the Academy Award winning “The Silence of the Lambs” has signed on to direct the documentary.

Marley’s son, Ziggy is an executive producer on the project.

The documentary is set to be released on February 6th, 2010; to coincide with, what would have been Marley’s 60th birthday.

Marley died from cancer in 1981.
