Graffiti6 is starting to make their North American invasion, and they are hitting up the Tonight Show. Does this sound familiar? Well the Beatles made the exact same journey over 40 years ago. Naturally, @jordans_life had to make some comparisons.
Nick plays World of Warcraft. Not only that, he’s the head of his guild, demonstrating that it IS possible to juggle being a hardcore gamer with being a top-selling recording artist.
During a LIVE interview on andPOP.com Nick Carter gave out a number and took phone calls from his fans. These were real phone calls from real fans who we gave exclusive access to one of the biggest recording artists of our generation.
There were great questions about music, fitness, the backstreet boys but the most popular question, however, was about his underwear. In this clip Nick talks about his his ‘Haynes’ and covering his fans with glow in the dark paint.
When releasing new music today, half the battle is online promotion. However, contests, signed merch and giveaways aren’t always the best solutions. When working on their latest album, Hedley came up with a brilliant idea, they decided to make trailers.
It’s hard to prepare for an interview with Hedley. So in this interview, we threw caution to the wind, got a 24 of beer and broadcast the interview live on our USTREAM (andPOP.tv). Eventually Jacob, Dave and @jordans_life ended up talking about hairy legs, their newest music video and more.

E!’s Guliana Rancic couldn’t take no for an answer when interviewing Maroon 5′s Adam Levine about his supermodel girlfriend, Ann Vyalitsyna.
Giuliana’s normally very friendly and respectful when interviewing A-list celebrities but for some reason, she couldn’t help but pry into Adam’s love life. She kept asking him what songs he sings to his Victoria’s Secret girlfriend. While Adam always comes off an an arrogant, conceited guy, I can’t blame him for not wanting to talk about his personal life.
Watch the cringeworthy interview at Buzzfeed.

NBC’s ‘The Voice’ has announced that they’ve enlisted more celebrity talent for their upcoming season – this will surely challenge those over at ‘American Idol’ the most watched show on television.
According to Rolling Stone, each of the show’s panelists will now be joined by two celebrity advisors from the music industry. Cee-Lo Green will be joined by other R&B heavyweights, Ne-Yo and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. Maroon 5′s frontman Adam Levine will have some help from Alanis Morissette and Robin Thicke while mentor Christina Aguilera will be joined by Jewel and industry-icon, Lionel Richie.
“I trust the show more than I trust the record industry at this point,” said Levine about reality show singing contests, in a recent Reuters interview. “It is a very tired format, but in a way this is a very fresh way of doing it.”
Another mentor, country-star Blake Shelton is pulling in two reality-show veterans – his wife, Miranda Lambert and Kelly Clarkson. That’s right, Seacrest.
“I chose Miranda and Kelly because they both survived reality television shows,” Shelton told reporters at an annual gathering of TV critics. “I just wanted somebody who could talk to them about what they were going through.”
Executive producer and reality show innovator Mark Burnett admits that the show’s success hasn’t yet fulfilled its expectations. Last year’s winner Javier Colon (who?) released his album and peaked at no.134 on the Billboard 200 album chart. That doesn’t even come close to the success of “Idol” winners in the vein of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
It’s impossible to predict success in the ever-changing music industry and even making a name for yourself in the Billboard chart is a huge feat. Though this season could change everything, again.
The new season of ‘The Voice’ premieres February 5 on NBC.
Even since repeatedly pestering that poor DJ to turn the record up in 2005, Robyn Rihanna Fenty has been a chart-topping powerhouse representative of Def Jam Records. With her collaborations dominating the charts as of late, it seems that the recipe to Billboard success is a Rihanna hook. After all, she has the most digital number-one hits with eleven and counting.
That’s more number-one’s than Stevie Wonder or Janet Jackson. That’s two away from Michael Jackson and nine away from the untouchable Beatles. Are we talking quantity, not quality? It’s up for debate. How does she compare to the Gaga’s, Perry’s and Beyonce’s?
Turn on the radio. Open a music magazine. And if they’re on a break from their teen-preganancy programming, watch MTV. From Maroon 5 to Eminem to Coldplay to Lonely Island, there is that familiar sultry croon of the official ambassador of youth and culture for Barbados. She is considerably the most-featured female singer of this millennium. She’s no Fitzgerald, or Goulding for that matter, but it’s either she has a remarkable talent or impeccable timing. OK, maybe Jay-Z has a little something to do with it.
Going back to 2008, she was featured on two of the biggest songs of the year: Maroon5′s “If I Ever See Your Face Again” and T.I.’s redemption-song “Live Your Life.” Two opposing ends of the musical spectrum that equally delivered as hits in their respective genres.
Recently, her collaborations haven’t slowed down, they’ve been unescapable on the pop-charts. She duels with Nicki Minaj, harmonizes on Kanye’s “All of the Lights”and even trades verses with Chris Martin in Coldplay’s “Princess of China” In response to his appearance on “What’s My Name?”, Rihanna flourishes in the role of a wounded-love on the title track of Drake’s upcoming Take Care EP.
Her solo success should not be ignored. In Billboard’s 53-year-history, Rihanna is in a third-place tie with the legendary Whitney Houston for most chart-toppers, behind Mariah Carey and Madonna. That’s a fine line between jaw-dropping and head-scratching. She was also named Digital Song Artist of the Decade in 2009, passing Mr. West, Beyonce and Taylor Swift.
In a recent study, the most popular videos on YouTube are unsurprisingly, music videos that occupy an incredible 86% of the top 60 most-viewed. What’s even more mind-boggling is that a trifecta of pop-artists total a 25% of those 60 videos: Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Bieber impregnates the rest of the pack with 1.664 billion views. Mother Monster rolls in with 842 million views and Rihanna clocks in with 715 million views.
With her new album Talk That Talk on the horizon (due out November 21), critical pop-singles are expected to stampede the airwaves. She took to Twitter on Tuesday to confirm that her mentor would appear on the title track: “Yes sir! Jigga man is on the title track #TTT.” What a clubhouse that must be, with Kanye and Jay meeting their female counterparts of Beyonce and Rihanna for an afternoon picnic.
Hova and Ri-Ri previously collaborated on her mega-hit “Umbrella” and he featured her on that Blueprint 3 power-house single, “Run This Town.”
She’s definitely beating Chris Brown’s success to death.
The people at Victoria’s Secret have yet again proved that their sole purpose in this world is to make men happy. Gentlemen, Christmas came early this year.
In this ridiculously cute two-and-a-half minute video, a group of slim and perfectly symmetrical real-life Barbies parade around in menswear singing Maroon 5′s ‘Moves Like Jagger.” It shares an uncanny similarity to the actual music video that has over 60 million hits to date. However, this is much, much better.
The video features supermodels Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana LIma, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, Lindsay Ellingson, Miranda Kerr and Anne Vyalitsyna, who all get a thumbs up from Adam Levine for their sultry performance of his hit song.
To be honest, I have no idea why Maroon 5 made a music video without Victoria’s Secret models in the first place. They could have saved money and the lingerie makers would have picked up the bill. Either way, if you haven’t already seen this, enjoy!
Over 100 million people watch the Superbowl every year and when it comes to the lingerie of superbowls, over ten million people tune in to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Last night’s show raked in the highest ratings since 2002, the Hollywood Reporter says. The show certainly got some help from the hottest rappers around the most expensive bra ever (Miranda Kerr rocked a $2.5 million dollar bra).
Jay-Z and Kanye performed “N*ggas in Paris” while a a pregnant Beyonce got to throw her diamond-filled hands in the air, waving them around like she just didn’t care. Check out the video below.
Kanye later performed his 2007 hit “Stronger”.
Nicki Minaj brightened up the stage by popping by to sing “Super Bass”.
Last but not least, Maroon 5 performed “Moves Like Jagger” without Christina Aguilera. Lead singer Adam Levine certainly didn’t miss her since he seemed incredibly distracted by his girlfriend, Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna. He even escorted her down the runway and planted a big kiss on her. It’s so cute, I want to throw up.
Demi Lovato is sure making Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera look like chumps as she does a sweet rendition of their hit “Moves Like Jagger”.
Demi spent last night in Detroit, Michigan and halfway through her set she performed this radio-friendly track. She was dressed like a Grecian goddess and backup dancers performed behind her.
Normally, singers go old-school with their cover selections but it’s refreshing to see Demi cover something very current and buzzworthy. Who knows, maybe Aguilera will return the favour and cover Demi’s song Skyscraper some day soon.
Check out the performance video below.
Adam Levine from Maroon 5 sent out a tweet yesterday that was less than flattering about MTV’s VMAs.
His tweet read, “the VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. fuck you VMA’s.”
Of course he is referring to MTV’s change in focus. MTV use to be all about music, but now they are more into reality TV like Jersey Shore.
Thanks Snooki.
According to People Magazine, early Monday morning singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw was attacked in the East Village in New York City at about 4:30 a.m. Following the attack, DeGraw, 34, who was alone at the time, stumbled into the middle of the street and was hit by a taxi cab. The singer was taken to Bellevue Hospital after a man, who police say had blood on his shirt and seemed to be intoxicated, called 911 with a report that a male was in need of assistance, located at the corner of 1st Ave. and 19th St.
DeGraw, who is currently on tour with Maroon 5 and Train, is believed to have suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face, and remains in stable condition.
In a statement, DeGraw’s representative said, ”Gavin DeGraw was assaulted … and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time.”
We wish DeGraw a full and quick recovery!
Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine will collaborate on a new Maroon 5 single, reports Billboard.
The two music artists, who are judges on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ will collaborate on the track ‘Moves Like Jagger.’
The single is set to be released next week on iTunes. They also plan to perform the single on the June 21 episode of the show.
Levine said in a statement that it was “great” getting to work with Christina, while Aguilera called the collaboration a “wonderful opportunity.”
The song is described as a quintessential Maroon 5 pop song, with an upbeat tune. This isn’t the first time Levine has teamed up with a pop icon, previously jamming with Rihanna on ‘If I Never See Your Face Again.’
I’m excited, I’m sure the song is great! It will be interesting to see how Aguilera’s powerful voice mixes with Levine’s softer, serenading voice. Great publicity for ‘The Voice,’ too.
Christina Aguilera to be the next J.Lo?
After reports of Aguilera being in talks with producers from the new NBC show, The Voice, the news has finally broken that this genie-in-a-bottle is set to join Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine (from Maroon 5, for those who have forgotten) as the third host on the Mark Burnett singing competition.
According to Perez Hilton, Aguilera issued a statement, saying:
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.”
After all the professional setbacks this talented singer has had recently – like getting arrested with her boyfriend for public intoxication and driving under the influence, shortly after tripping onstage at the Grammy’s during her Aretha Franklin tribute – we can’t wait to see this 30-year-old get back on her feet!
“When I decided to produce ‘The Voice,’ I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” Burnett said in the statement. “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of ‘The Voice.’ ”
Only problem is, will this new show be able to compete with American Idol? We already saw what happened to Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, which after one season is reportedly over – let’s just hope that this one will have a longer life than that!
The Voice premiers April 26 on NBC. Are you going to watch? Which judge are you most excited to see?
Maroon 5 is getting reinterpreted by a diverse group of artists, ranging from indie rockers Of Montreal and Deerhoof to hip-hop producers Pharrell Williams and David Banner.
The remix album, titled “Call & Response,” is due Dec. 9 and features 18 tracks.
Most of the songs originally appeared on Maroon 5′s two studio albums, 2002′s “Songs About Jane” and last year’s “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.”
The exception is “Woman,” which appeared on the “Spider-Man 2″ soundtrack and is remixed by Sam Farrar of Phantom Planet.
Also contributing to the remix record are Mark Ronson, Paul Oakenfold, the Roots’ Questlove and Cut Copy, among others.
“I’ve always found it really interesting that a group of people looking at the same painting can all see different things,” Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine told Billboard.
“That was the idea behind this record — to take a few of our songs and have them interpreted by some of our favourite artists. We were really blown away by what they came up with.”
Maroon 5 will spent much of this month touring South America and are set to play Dubai and South Africa in December.

Maroon 5 had five years to prepare for the threat of a sophomore slump.
The band released their debut album, “Songs About Jane,” in 2002. It took two years before the first single “Hard to Breathe” made a dent on the charts. When more hits kept coming, they kept touring and didn’t release another album until earlier this year.
So was the second album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” a victim of the sophomore jinx? You be the judge.
The first single, “Makes Me Wonder,” became the band’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. The next single, “Wake Up Call,” became a top 10 song around the world. As for the album itself – it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard selling almost half a million copies in its first week, and it’s still charting high after half a year.
Maroon 5 spent some time chatting with andPOP during a recent tour stop in Toronto.
MAROON 5 have made US pop chart history after scoring the biggest jump to number one ever on the Billboard Hot 100.
The group’s Makes Me Wonder has shot up the chart from number 64 to number one, beating Kelly Clarkson’s previous jump from 52 to the top spot.
The record-breaking feat prevents Avril Lavigne from celebrating a second week on top of both the US album and singles charts; her Girlfriend hit drops a place to number two.
Another former number one, Timbaland’s Give It to Me, also falls a spot to number three, while R&B star Ne-Yo also enjoys a big chart boost, jumping from 39 to number five on the new chart with Because of You.
Country star Carrie Underwood also makes chart history with her charity recording of The Pretenders’ I’ll Stand by You, which the singer performed to African schoolchildren as part of a touching video featured in the Idol Gives Back TV special last week.
Debuting at number six on the new countdown, it’s the first iTunes exclusive to ever open in the top 10.

Singer ADAM LEVINE insists there was no animosity within his band MAROON 5 when drummer RYAN DUSICK was forced to quit the group – branding his departure a “horrendous” loss.
Dusick, a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning band, left in September 2006 to pursue a songwriting career after joint and nerve injuries left him unable to perform drumming duties with Maroon 5.
But Levine insists there are no hard feelings among the remaining band members.
The 27-year-old vocalist says, “As painful and horrendous as it was having to part ways with someone who was a co-founder of the band, he couldn’t play any more to the ability that he once could. There’s no bad blood.”

The Super Bowl has always been as much about the halftime music performances as it is about who gets to flash their championship rings for the next 12 months. Now you can get a taste of what’s to come in January five months earlier when the National Football League kicks the season off by bringing music and football even closer together.
On Sept. 8, ABC will broadcast an hour-long ?NFL Opening Kickoff 2005? special, which will feature performances by Green Day, Santana, Kanye West, Maroon 5, and taped footage from the current Rolling Stones tour. The live performances will take place in three cities to highlight the history of the big championship game.
Fans of West and Maroon 5 will be able to see the Grammy winners perform for free outside the Los Angeles Coliseum, where the first Super Bowl was held.
Meanwhile, Green Day and Santana will play at the home of last year?s Bowl winners, the New England Patriots, at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. Right after, Trisha Yearwood is slated to sing the National Anthem before the season opener, which pits the Patriots against the Oakland Raiders.
Finally, the Stones clips will come from their Aug. 31 concert in Detroit.
The special will be hosted by actor Freddie Prinze, Jr., who stars in ?Freddie,? a new ABC sitcom premiering this fall.
The “NFL Opening Kickoff” has become a bit of a tradition ever since 2002?s first kickoff event in New York with Bon Jovi, Enrique Iglesias, Alicia Keys, and Eve. Last year?s show featured mega-stars Destiny?s Child, Mary J. Blige, Elton John, Toby Keith and Lenny Kravitz.
Alicia Keys has succeeded in making another one of her dreams come true. The nine-time Grammy winner just finished taping a special episode of MTV ?Unplugged? and will now join the likes of Nirvana, Elton John, and Alanis Morissette ? musicians who comprise an exclusive list of big-name artists to have graced the show?s stage.
“As a child, in my wildest dreams ? and I dreamed so big ? but you never think it’s going to happen,” Keys told MTV. “So to be here, on the set that we’re going to record ‘Unplugged’ on, it’s amazing and beautiful and everything I’ve ever dreamed of.?
The R&B sensation brought the show back from MTV retirement last week in New York, where she serenaded fans with new renditions of songs off her two studio albums (Songs in A Minor and The Diary of Alicia Keys), a few covers (including Brenda Holloway?s ?Every Little Bit Hurts?) and also two new originals.
The MTV Unplugged series first debuted in 1989 and showcased popular bands in intimate, stripped-down performances, sans electric guitars, keyboards, and special effects. The show was credited with bringing about an ?acoustic revolution? in mainstream music.
?’Unplugged’ is my thing, it’s really my style, it’s what I’m all about,” said Keys. ?To have strings, to have percussion, to have all these elements to put in the piano base that I have, this is so much fun, man.?
Joining in on the fun were some of Keys? famous friends, whom she brought on stage to sing with her. Maroon 5?s Adam Levine joined Keys for a cover of the Rolling Stones? ?Wild Horses? while rap stars Common and Mos Def are featured in ?Love It or Leave It Alone.? Keys also performed with Damian Marley (son of reggae legend Bob Marley) for a unique rendition of his single, ?Welcome to Jam Rock.?
Fans can also look forward to hearing two new tracks on the show: “Stolen Moments” and “Unbreakable.” Keys describes ?Stolen Moments,? which she co-wrote with soul icon Al Green, as being about a romance “that shouldn’t exist, but it’s so perfect in how they relate to each other.” Meanwhile, “Unbreakable” is about “how life and love can be unbreakable.?
“Once people see this ‘Unplugged,’ I just want them to feel the spontaneity, to feel passionate,” Keys said. “I want you to see another side of me, that’s free, and feel where my head is, where whatever happens, happens. I want you to feel inspired.”
“Alicia Keys: Unplugged” is tentatively scheduled to air on MTV September 9.
Three years after pop music group Maroon 5 shot to star power with the release of “Songs About Jane,” the group is working on their second album.
“Songs About Jane” peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 after 67 weeks from its June 2002 release. Their debut sold 4 million copies in the U.S. and includes the hits “This Love,” “Sunday Morning,” “She Will Be Loved,” and “Harder to Breathe.”
?Now at least we know that we have the world?s ear, and I think that does bring some confidence, but at the same time, we?re not going to stop really pushing ourselves to develop our songcraft,? guitarist James Valentine told Billboard.
The band does not appear to have a clear-cut direction as of yet, but say they are leaning towards a uptempo set of songs.
?We?re kind of re-creating the sort of vibe that we had set up when we were writing the songs for the first record, where we rented a house and got some instruments set up,? Valentine told Billboard.
But to expectant Maroon fans, you?re going to have to wait a while, as the album is just in its fetus-stage and won?t be born for a while.
In the meantime, September 20 will see the release of ?Friday the 13th?Live at The Santa Barbara Bowl,” which is a CD or DVD that includes previously unreleased songs.
Maroon 5 is also busy with summer touring. They?ll be in England for the V Festivals on August 20th and Staffordshire on the 21st, and they will also be opening a few times for none other than the Rolling Stones.
