Following Madonna’s stint at this year’s Super Bowl, a variety of artists have been pitched for next year’s prestigious halftime show – even famous parodist, Weird Al Yankovic.

“This is a serious case to be made,” writes spearheads Paul and Storm. “All the elements are there: lights, video, costume changes, general spectacle. And given a stadium-sized budget? It would be awesome in every sense of the word.”

In all seriousness, let’s look at the facts: he has been doing shows and putting out albums for three decades, 2013 will mark the 30th anniversary of his self-titled debut and he has parodied every major artist under the sun. Over his 30 year career, he’s left his mark on nearly every genre: Queen, Madonna, Nirvana, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus – just to name a few.

It would be a clean, entertaining, family-friendly show that meets all of the NFL standards.

You can sign the petition that currently holds 2,500 signatures and the #WeirdAlSuperBowl trend has started to surface across all those social media outlets. It’s time for change and we want it now.

When Madonna agreed to perform at the half-time show last night, she promised fans “the greatest show on earth in the middle of the greatest show on earth”.

Not that many people knew what to expect, other than a medley of her old, classic songs and a performance with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj.

She began her set with “Vogue”, as she was being carried by an army of gladiators to the stage. She sang (or rather, lip synced) “Express Yourself”, “Like a Prayer” with Cee Lo Green and “Music” with LMFAO.

When it was time to perform her newest, “Give Me All Your Luvin’”, Nicki and M.I.A. joined her on stage, dressed as some sort of Egyptian cheerleaders.

My favourite performance has to be her duet with Cee Lo, which was saved for last. A choir of a hundred people joined the two on stage and when the song finished, “WORLD PEACE” was seen lit on the stadium. Aw, shucks!

Damn! M.I.A. is on a roll today. Her other music video featuring Madonna and Nicki Minaj has also been released today.

M.I.A. and Nicki act as Madonna’s cheerleaders in her comeback song. All three look amazing — Madonna more so when she’s fully clothes — as they are roaming the streets, being carried off by football players.

This is a great lead up to their Superbowl performance this Sunday night.

The song itself is very corny and playful. It could easily be placed in an iPod commercial. It’s that catchy. See for yourself.

The queen of pop never rests. If she’s not touring, she’s directing movies, and if she’s not attending screenings, she’s in the studio with prestigious producers.

Hot off her Golden Globe win for Best Song, Madonna’s about to drop her latest album, “MDNA”. Notable Parisian DJ/producer Martin Solveig is behind her all the way, as is M.I.A., who performs on a few tracks herself.

Madonna’s team just released a super short video of the trio in a New York studio last November. It’s nice to see Madonna loosen up and have fun with wild child M.I.A. It’s an odd pairing but we might be in for a pleasant surprise.

There’s a fine line between sampling a song and straight ripping off someone else’s artistic integrity. Imitation is recognized as the highest form of flattery – but at what point does it go too far?

Most recently, Madonna finally spoke out about her insane influence of Lady Gaga, with focus on ‘Born This Way‘ and it’s similarity with Madge’s 1989 hit ‘Express Yourself’. And in the spirit of that buzz – we’re delighted to bring you a little sampling, thirteen songs that famously ripped off others (and were pretty successful in their own right). Some of which dealt with court settlements and others were able to slip through the legal cracks. For those arguing that the likes of Hammer and Vanilla Ice had the right to sample – both were busted by the predecessors for their use. Ice even argued in an episode of VH1′s ‘Behind the Music’ that it was completely original and the sampling accusations were bogus.

Madonna has finally expressed herself on how she truly feels about Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’.

It isn’t news that Gaga’s musical, fashion style and overall success is a reproduction of Madge’s success formula. But until this week she has remained practically silent about the whole fiasco. Many have criticized that Gaga’s hit had basically ripped off Madonna’s 1989 song ‘Express Yourself’.

“I thought, ‘this is a wonderful way to redo my song,” said Madonna in an interview with Newsweek’s Jacob Bernstein. “I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was interesting.”

On last night’s 20/20 with Cynthia McFadden, she revisited the first time that she heard ‘Born This Way’ on the radio – finding Gaga’s references “amusing and flattering and well-done”

“It feels reductive,” she replied. “Look it up.”

With her collaborations dominating the charts as of late, it seems that the recipe to Billboard success is a Rihanna hook. After all, she has the most digital number-one hits with eleven and counting.

That’s more number-one’s than Stevie Wonder or Janet Jackson. That’s two away from Michael Jackson and nine away from the untouchable Beatles. Are we talking quantity, not quality? It’s up for debate. How does she compare to the Gaga’s, Perry’s and Beyonce’s?

Turn on the radio. Open a music magazine. And if they’re on a break from their teen-preganancy programming, watch MTV. From Maroon 5 to Eminem to Coldplay to Lonely Island, there is that familiar sultry croon of the official ambassador of youth and culture for Barbados. That’s a fine line between jaw-dropping and head-scratching. She was also named Digital Song Artist of the Decade in 2009, passing Mr. West, Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

In a recent study, the most popular videos on YouTube are unsurprisingly, music videos that occupy an incredible 86% of the top 60 most-viewed. What’s even more mind-boggling is that a trifecta of pop-artists total a 25% of those 60 videos: Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Bieber impregnates the rest of the pack with 1.664 billion views. Mother Monster rolls in with 842 million views and Rihanna clocks in with 715 million views.

With her new album Talk That Talk on the horizon (due out November 21), critical pop-singles are expected to stampede the airwaves. She took to Twitter on Tuesday to confirm that her mentor would appear on the title track: “Yes sir! Jigga man is on the title track #TTT.” What a clubhouse that must be, with Kanye and Jay meeting their female counterparts of Beyonce and Rihanna for an afternoon picnic.

Hova and Ri-Ri previously collaborated on her mega-hit “Umbrella” and he featured her on that Blueprint 3 power-house single, “Run This Town.”

50 Cent is channeling his inner 13-year-old brat by throwing yet another hissy-fit on Twitter.

This time around, he has his panties in a twist because Madonna ripped off his song title. He was all ready to release a track called “Girls Go Wild” through Interscope, until he found out Madonna’s putting a song out too, titled “Girls Gone Wild”. Guess no one cares enough to “Girls Gone Wild” t.v. show creator Joe Francis what he thinks.

“These people are gonna make kill one of them. Now Madonna’s single is called GIRLS GONE WILD. This is some bull sh*t,” he tweeted yesterday.

As posted on Oh No They Didn’t, the rapper does not want to release his single anymore. He won’t even release his album until Interscope is on the same page as him.

He also went on to write, “This is nuts to me. I try to do everything I can to keep my cool you know what? If they don’t care I don’t care I’m putting out a video now.”

Now, 50 just sounds like a spoiled brat whose mom won’t buy her a pony for her 13th birthday party. He should be thankful there are people out there that still care enough to listen to his irrelevant music.

Since escaping her mother’s womb 30 years ago in Mississippi, she’s never had a dull moment. From starring in the Mickey Mouse Club, to dating the hottest boy band member, the whole world is always in the loop when it comes to her career and personal life. The pop princess had accomplished a lot for a 30-year-old; some good, some bad and some ugly. Here’s a look at the top five most outrageous Britney moments.

5. Her 2001 VMA performance

While “singing” her hit song “I’m a Slave 4 U”, Britney’s wardrobe consisted of a green bikini, a lot of glitter and a white python. The sultry performance was talked about for weeks at the water cooler. People still dress up in this costume for Halloween sometimes.

4. Entering motherhood

Six years ago, while married to Kevin Federline, Britney had her first son, Sean Preston Federline. It came as a shock because no one thought Britney was ready for such a responsibility. In fact, after her second child, Jayden James Federline, people still poked fun at her. Comedian Sarah Silverman even called her sons “the most beautiful mistakes” at an award show.

3. Her day-long marriage

We all know the expression “what happens in Vegas, stayed in Vegas”. For Britney, she ended up bringing her Vegas escapades back home with her. The media blew up and I’m sure the internet broke when news broke that Britney married her childhood friend Jason Alexander but got an annulment a day later. A while ago, I posted my honest opinions on the lyrics to “Give Me All Your Love”, because they leaked before the actual music did. I still believe the lyrics are the silliest things I’ve ever read.

MTV posted the actual finished song today, finally. My hatred for the lyrics are still there but an unexpected admiration over its catchiness has risen out of nowhere. Unlike the rumours suggested, rapper M.I.A. is not heard on the track but Nicki Minaj lends some vocals in the chorus.

Give Me All Your Love is the kind of song cheerleaders would listen to before the big football game. It’s the feel good song of the year — okay, week. Madonna may in fact be nothing but an old lady trying so depserately to remain hip and relevant, she actually comes across as hip and relevent in this song and this song only. Well played, Madonna.

The Queen of Pop or Madge or Esther or whatever Madonna goes by, is back in the music scene with a new song, Give Me All Your Love. Perez Hilton reports she’ll be premiering that song at next year’s Super Bowl.

No one has a recording of the complete song but Perez posted the lyrics on his site and so now, I’m gonna do what I do best: judge it for all its worth. The song begins with:

Fizzled out pop icons of the 80′s better watch their back! Rihanna’s in it to win it. The 23-year-old singer has now beaten Madonna as the fastest solo artist to reach 20 Top-10 hits.

Rihanna’s newest single, “Talk That Talk” with Calvin Harris currently sits at #9 in its second week on the charts, giving her a total of 20 songs on the Top-10 charts in just six years and four months.

For the Queen of Pop herself, well it took her a little bit longer. Slow and steady didn’t win the race, it seems. Madge was beaten by just five months.

It appears Rihanna’s popping hit after hit since Pon De Replay. while Madonna’s giving us flop after flop. I mean, remember her urban pop album Hard Candy? Yeah, we don’t either.

Madonna is heading back to the studio to work on a new album, reports Canoe Jam.

Madonna’s manager confirmed the news, writing on twitter: ”Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on (her) new album… She has a good idea which producers she will be working with… There is nothing to report in regards to (a) tour. You guys know how this works… first comes the album and next comes the (tour).”

This news comes just months after she claimed to be quitting her music career because she doesn’t have the “time or energy” to sing. So much for that.

The iconic singer has been putting her filmmaking career first lately, where she has been filming a new movie called ‘W.E.’

It’s amazing that, after all these years, she’s still making music and reinventing herself once again. Her music is fun and definitely a guilty pleasure, so dare I say I’m excited?

Music icons Madonna and Rihanna are the latest pop singers to team up for a new project… to sell coconut water.

According to Billboard, Madonna is an investor for The Vita Coco brand of coconut water, which will feature Rihanna in its national advertising campaign launching this summer.

“Rihanna is a natural fit for the Vita Coco brand and I’m so happy to have her on the team,” says Madonna in a statement.

Rihanna adds, “I love Vita Coco! It’s real coconut water from hand-picked coconuts. It’s delicious and so good for you!”

This seems like a random collaboration, but whatever works for them. I was sort of hoping for a music collaboration or something, but, I guess I’ll take this.

Songs For Japan has been released on Friday, March 25 - a compilation album to benefit the ongoing disaster relief efforts in Japan. The album is available for purchase worldwide on iTunes for $9.99, and 100 per cent of the proceeds go to benefiting the Japanese Red Cross Society.

Lady Gaga, Eminem, Pink, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry are among the many artists that appear on the album. In total, 38 artists lent songs to the album, including every and all types of music from country to rock to pop and jazz.

All acts appearing on Songs for Japan – and their labels and music publishers – have waived their royalties and proceeds from the worldwide sales to the Japanese Red Cross Society. The Japanese Red Cross Society will use funds from the album to support its ongoing relief efforts and recovery assistance to Japan’s most affected areas by the earthquake and tsunamis.

Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone, has decided to rear his head in the media again!

It’s been three years since his tell-all book about his sister was released, and the siblings haven’t spoken since. Now that he’s ridden that wave for as long as possible, he’s decided to open up about Madonna’s love of younger men.

Ciccone says:

“I guess if she continues to date all these much younger guys, it could start to look creepy.  But I think that a lot of Madonna’s emotional needs are met by taking care of her children; these boyfriends must really be like a kind of distraction for her. She certainly isn’t following societal values, but then again my sister never has and probably never will either.”

Hmm… we’re not the biggest Madonna fans, but at least we know we can’t tell her who to date!

Penthouse Founder, Bob Guccione died after a battle with cancer in a Texas Hospital yesterday reports PEOPLE.

Guccione became famous after introducing more hardcore sexual images to his magazine, Penthouse, to rival the standard nude images in Playboy. He began publishing Penthouse in the U.S. in 1969 and resigned as publisher in 2003. Guccione also co-directed cult classic, Caligula, in 1979.

Penthouse became infamous for featuring a number of unauthorized photos of celebrities like Madonna and Vanessa Williams. The images of Vanessa Williams caused her forced resignation as Miss America in 1984.

Guccione was a fire-starter as well as someone who tried to push boundaries. Guccione remains as one of the pioneers of pornography. RIP
