One Direction’s Harry Styles has been quite the busy body since touching down in L.A. on Tuesday.
After bumping into The Mindy Project‘s star and creator Mindy Kaling earlier this week, the singer was spotted leaving dinner with none other than Rod Stewart Thursday night. Styles and the aging rocker were joined by a group of friends (including Rod’s wife, Penny Lancaster) at L.A.’s Dan Tanas restaurant.
While we hope the two had a pleasant evening together, we do hope some of the conversation turned to business. I wouldn’t mind hearing a Rod Stewart/One Direction or Harry Styles collaboration on the radio.
There’s a legit problem in this world when a person doesn’t have enough money to buy real underwear and resorts to wearing taped up grocery bags as fake Nike shoes, but still holds on to their overpriced iPad because of its stunning retina display.
Sketch comedy group OldePayphone highlights the unique homeless situation in Los Angeles when a young couple runs into two homeless writers, one of which creatively uses plastic wrap as transition lenses. The aptly named “iBum L.A.” sketch comes from the the same comedy group that brought us “CompetiBitch” last week. Hilarz!

Florence + the Machine’s new retro-inspired video for “Breaking Down” is a loving ode to Los Angeles and summer nostalgia. The catchy song is about paranoia and loneliness but the upbeat melody and catchy beat ultimately make it hopeful.
The video features singer Florence Welch candidly posing at the pool, playing tennis and driving in the backseat between shots of blowing palm trees and neon cocktail signs. It fits with this generation’s incessant need to live in a different era, when romantic Instagram shots were actually Polaroids and you wore cat eye glasses because they were new, not because they were old.

Ever since I saw the School of Rock, I knew Jack Black could sing. But who knew he could belt the National Anthem in such a legendary way?
Serenading a crowd in Los Angeles before a Sparks game, the Tenacious D singer does an understated performance of the “Star Spangled Banner”. Without pulling any vocal tricks or trying too hard, Black pulls it off.
Too bad the audience isn’t as respectful.
As one YouTuber remarked,”Audience, shut the heck up until the end. You’re being disrespectful and also it is f*cking Jack Black singing.”
Sorry for the Louis Tomlinson fans out there who want to be serenaded with an acoustic rendition of “What Makes You Beautiful.” The One Direction member was seen strolling through Los Angeles after a Starbucks coffee date with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder. The two were walking arm-in-arm, which is the proper protocol for an early courtship.
Way to go Louis Tomlinson! Way to raise our expectations way up and then dash them with a single photo. I wonder how his pretty lady feels about the rumoured One Direction sex ban or the fact that everyone is in love with her boyfriend.

Snooki has finally made herself an honourable Guidette with reports that the pregnant Jersey Shore member is now engaged to long time boyfriend Jionni LaValle. Snooki was apparently dropping hints for months to her Italian beau, even trying on $500,000 engagement rings.
The pair have had their own unique “situations” (get it?) in the Jersey House especially when it comes to Snooki’s history with Mike The Situation. But the pair are already supposedly already planning their nuptials.
In the meantime, Snooki and JWoww are currently filming their spin-off about getting an apartment together in Jersey City. Could another spin-off about Snooki’s wedding be in the works? It could be like Kim’s Fairytale Wedding but instead of an Old Hollywood theme in Los Angeles the reception would be held at Jersey’s Karma and the crowd would have plenty of room for slow motion fist pumps.
I’m so excited to hear that Bling Ring is finally going to be done correctly. First, Sophia Coppola is directing and producing the film so we can expect beautiful cinematography and a rocking soundtrack. Now we know it’s also going to star Emma Watson.
“I am excited about the young cast we’re assembling and I’m looking forward to shooting on location here in Los Angeles,” Coppola said in a statement.
If you don’t already know the story, around 2008/2009 a gang of teens broke into celebrity homes in Hollywood, stealing about $3 million worth of jewelry and clothing. Victims included Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan among others.

The 19-year-old salvia connoisseur was photographed with her friend exiting Therapeutic Health Care, which sells legal medical marijuana for anyone with a prescription.
The story is blowing up on gossip sites even though there’s one small major detail missing: no one actually knows what Cyrus bought! Cheers to deduction skills.
Cyrus became known as a marijuana enthusiast after her birthday video leaked, in which she jokes: “You know you’re a stoner when friends make you a Bob Marley cake — you know you smoke way too much f***in’ weed.”

The British songstress and the dubstep producer (who took home three Grammys) have apparently been dating since November and met through recording ties. I can’t envision their first conversation but I imagine it went something like: “Hey that’s a great undercut you have there, maybe we can get an undercut together some time.” Okay , enough with the lame jokes but really, they’re both so talented. Goulding, who performed at the Royal Wedding, is apparently even spending a lot more time in Los Angeles to be closer to him.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have a lot in common besides being major pop stars – they both come from families who had to battle hard times.
Selena recently revealed that when she and her family moved to Los Angeles, her first paycheque from “Wizards Of Waverly Place” went to pay the family’s rent.
She tells Access Hollywood, “I think (my first pay cheque) went into living (in Los Angeles) because we had to move from Texas, so I think we just had to pay for it.”
Now that was then and this is now. Do you think Selena is still covering her parents’ rent?
Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance last night at Taylor Swift’s concert in Los Angeles.
“You think you’ve heard LOUD screaming in your life,” Taylor Swift tweeted after her Los Angeles show on Tuesday night. “Then [Justin Bieber] comes out and does a surprise song during your show. Woah. Unreal.”
Bieber has become pretty close with Taylor Swift over the past couple of years.
“We should do that more often.

Rocker Rick Springfield has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, TMZ reports.
The 80s rockstar, who was arrested last night in Los Angeles, reportedly performed poorly on sobriety tests after being pulled over by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department around 8:00 p.m. for a traffic violation.
The 61-year-old singer was then arrested on suspicion of DUI, after the officers noticed the smell of alcohol. Law enforcement sources say Springfield’s blood alcohol level was measured at 0.10 and 0.08, the legal limit being 0.08 in California.
Springfield was taken to a nearby jail, where he was booked then released on his own recognizance.
Another rockstar, another DUI. It’s not known whether or not he has a drinking problem, but driving under the influence is simply inexcusable. Hopefully this is a good wake up call for him.
It looks like Simon Cowell has another hit on his hands with a record crowd thaty turned out to audition for “The X Factor” over the weekend.
DailyMail is reporting that over 18,000 people tuned out to the L.A. Memorial Sports Arena.
A show insider is quoted saying, “The scenes down here are crazy. There are around 18,000 people here and the numbers are growing by the second. There’s gridlock on the freeways into the venue, its absolute chaos. These auditions are going to be going on well into the night — there are a lot of people to get through.”
Of course 18,000 people showed up for the auditions as an opportunity to show off their artistic talents. Well that, plus if they win, they will receive a$5 Million record deal from Sony Music plus a huge plethora of endorsement deals.

So what do you think about George Lopez as the Mayor of Los Angeles? He seems like a pretty bright guy, well respected, and he could relate to a lot of minorities. Well Lopez appeared on “Good Day L.A.” yesterday proclaiming he will run for mayor of Los Angeles in eight years.
So why does Lopez think he can be Mayor? “If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor, why can’t George Lopez be the mayor of Los Angeles?” Valid point. Nevertheless, we look forward to seeing how this one plays out.
Sacha Baron Cohen is being sued yet again over one of his movies. This time it’s a gay journalist claiming he was roughed up by a camera crew shooting “Bruno.”
PopEater reports the incident took place in November 2008 during a pro-gay marriage rally in downtown Los Angeles.
Mike Skiff, a gay video journalist, recognized the “gay Austrian fashion journalist” Bruno, and started to film him. The lawsuit claims Cohen’s crew didn’t like this, and begain threatening Skiff and pushing him.
Skiff is suing for $25,000 in damages for alleged physical and emotional pain and suffering. You can see the video below.
Will New Jersey ever be the same? Native New Jersey resident Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is saying goodbye to the state, and heading to Los Angeles, reports PopEater.
“Mike has wanted to get out of Jersey for years,” a friend of the reality star tells PopEater. “He hates it. He has always seen his future in New York or Los Angeles and now that he is rich and famous I doubt he will ever want to return to Jersey again.”
However, The Situation will of course return to New Jersey to film for his “Jersey Shore.”
“Mike will go back and tape shows for MTV but the second the camera is off he’s on the first plane out back to LA,” a TV insider tells PopEater. “He’s gone all Hollywood now. He thinks he’s better than everyone and has gotten a huge head. He wants to be hanging out with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise now not the folks at the Jersey Shore.”
Poor old Jose Canseco – this guy just can’t catch a break. TMZ reports that the former baseball player has been evicted from his Los Angeles home which he was renting.
A source close to the situation says Canseco hadn’t paid rent for nearly two months. Jose was last at the home Wednesday night, and he won’t be allowed back in.

Lindsay Lohan may only serve 12-13 days in jail for violating her probation, says a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said on Tuesday.
Although Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in prison, and tried to hire a number of lawyers to reduce her sentence, the reality is nonviolent female inmates generally serve about 25 percent of their sentence. This is apparently mostly due to the overcrowding of the jail system.
See Lindsay, it won’t be so bad. Plus you will be better positioned to play a female inmate role in the future.
