So right now the interwebz is currently freaking out over NoPetsAllowd‘s mashup of Ke$ha’s “Die Young” and One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young.” The mashup is pretty genius — Ke$ha’s voice flows seamlessly with the guys’. It’s almost like they got together in the studio and made the mashup in perfect harmony. Can you imagine Ke$ha and the boys of 1D in the same room? Hairspray and glitter everywhere.
This mashup is so catchy that it might be (emphasis on might) better than the songs themselves. It’s basically impossible to get out of your head once you’ve heard it.
So I guess now we can add this mashup to the collection of Ke$ha-One Direction hybrids that have been circulating the internet, like SmadaLeinad‘s version. At some point our minds are going to melt from 1D-Ke$ha combinations. Just make a duet already.
Listen to the mashup here:
Matt Lauer totally called it when he said One Direction was “the biggest concert event that we have ever had here on The Today Show.” Fans waited in line for days beforehand, creating hysteria in Manhattan. The lineup was totally worth it considering the huge announcement they made.
According to Niall, the guys are going to do their first ever MOVIE! He said: “It’s gonna be in 3D, and it’s coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013.”
The guys’ TV spot was to promote their sophomore album Take Me Home, which hit shelves today. Harry said they wrote about five songs on the album, so it comes from the heart. Along with “What Makes You Beautiful” they also performed “Live While We’re Young” and of course, “Little Things,” which brought the crowd to tears.

Apart from seeing Britney Spears’ awesome expressions and hearing Emblem3′s heavenly voices echo over the TV there’s a whole NOTHER reason to watch The X-Factor this week called One Direction. The guys are performing “Live While We’re Young” and “Little Things” at the live results show this Thursday from their second album Take Me Home.
It makes sense considering the guys got their start on The X-Factor UK with mentor Simon Cowell. Their performance of the ridiculously sweet ballad “Little Things” (written by Ed Sheeran) will be the world-premiere live TV performance of the song. We heard Niall might be playing the guitar on stage!!
In honour of their performance, the top 12 contestants produced their very own One Direction music video for “Life While We’re Young.” Will you be watching?

Everyone knows the guys from One Direction love a good joke. So taking their antics with them, the band recently caused some good-natured chaos in the studio of UK’s Real Radio.
With Louis Tomlinson repeatedly yelling, “What’s ya name and where ya from?! We’re the Wanted!”, Niall Horan on the other hand, tricked listeners into thinking they’ve won tickets to see Manchester United (they didn’t).
While it’s hard to keep up with what’s going on, it’s nice to see the boys actually taking a bit of time to sing a seemingly calm, acoustic version of their single ‘Live While We’re Young” at another radio station.
This of course, leads me to my next question. Which station got the better deal? Would you rather have the boys of 1D joke around with you or serenade you instead?
Mega talented singer/songwriter Drew Tabor mashed up One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young” with Ke$ha’s “Die Young” and the acoustic version is pretty seamless.
I never really thought of it before but the two songs fit perfectly together, both musically and in terms of lyrics. This slowed down mashup has a campfire vibe and we can imagine listening to it on a chilled out weekday evening.
Drew wrote on YouTube that she’s in love with both the songs. We’re going to keep our eyes on her. In the meantime, her EP Glitter is available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. She also regularly updates her YouTube page with more covers.

After being accused of copying a riff from The Clash in their new single “Live While We’re Young”, One Direction has admitted that it was “on purpose.”
Having recently released the lead single off their second album “Take Me Home”, fans of The Clash have sparked several comments claiming that the group has ripped off the rockers’ classic hit , ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go.”
However, Harry Styles says the similar sound was completely intentional.
“It’s a bit like the first single (‘What Makes You Beautiful’) where the opening riff sounds similar to a certain film (‘Summer Nights’ from ‘Grease’). It’s kind of on purpose though, it’s a great riff,” he said to the Associated Press.
But despite the minor controversy, Styles tells fans that they should expect the same catchy pop style of their first album.
“There aren’t too many surprises. We’re just really happy with how the album’s come out. We all agree that it’s better than the first one … we’re proud of it.”
Well since that matter’s settled, I can’t wait to hear the new album!! (One Direction is my guilty pleasure)

Cue the One Direction tears. Fabulous Magazine debuted five of six (six!) collectable One Direction covers on Tuesday. Each guy has their own cover in black-and-white glory. If you look closely at the photos, you’ll notice some telling details about the boys (re: Harry Styles’ eyes above). Brace yourselves.

Niall’s cover reveals that he’d “rather go to sleep than find a girl.” Clearly, that’s not an option for 1D fans. In fact, I’m guessing that Niall lovers would go to great lengths to find him instead.Especially after seeing this photo — let’s appreciate how concentrated Niall is in using those beautiful eyes to pierce through our souls.

I have to say One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young” music video is one of my FAVES so far. I love the empowering message of the song, plus the guys genuinely look like they’re having a good time as they usually do, playing outside with their friends (who are VERY lucky to have them).
Donned in preppy plaids, blazers and collared shirts, the guys mess around outside, running in plastic bubbles on the lake, driving fast in a giant jeep and dancing at a neon glowstick dance party.
I’m inclined to dance to the track stat but I’m at work and I don’t know how my co-workers will take to my intense hip thrusting. I’m sure they’d join in if the sound wasn’t blocked by my headphones.

Anyway, here are my favourite moments, presented in gifs:
Look how silly they are!!

Let’s just revel in their silliness for a second. The guys wake up in a giant tent with perfect bedhead and literally bust out of it onto the ground. But don’t worry, they won’t let the fall spoil their day. [1d-muses]

It was a hard couple of days for Directioners, most commonly known as hard-core fan girls for One Direction. One of the members Zayn Malik had enough of the hate he’d been receiving online and decided to delete his Twitter account, which obviously caused one huge frenzy. The majority of the comments were based on his relationship with Perrie Edwards. Before he decided to leave, he sent out a message to his followers:
Instantly, 1D fans were trending messages for Zayn to come back. Thankfully he looked past all the negative tweets and realized that Directioners could not live through this “crisis.” Especially since more than half of them dedicate their whole life to the boys, which include tweeting the heart throb daily.
In better news, if you didn’t wake up extra early this morning to hear the boy’s big announcement, it’s that their new single “Live While We’re Young,” will be on presale at midnight. The song will be their first single off their new album coming out this November. By the looks of the video, they’re still goofing around and enjoying what they do best. Who knows, maybe their new song will sound a bit different from what they’ve done in the past to match their new looks. Are you excited?
