During the day, Lucy Spraggan is that pesky salesperson on the street with a clipboard that you try to avoid. She hates her day job and auditioned for The X-Factor knowing it could change her whole life.
I wasn’t sure what to expect after she announced she’d be singing a song she personally wrote about “Beer Fear” — you know, when you go to the bar, have a few too many Tequila shots or Flaming Sambucas and end up proposing to your everlasting love (who’s actually just the greasy dude you met on the dance floor).
Her rendition ended up being one of the wittiest performances I’ve seen on the show. It wasn’t necessarily that she had the best voice (though she did have a nice Lily Allen flare), but her lyrics were intelligent and incredibly hilarious. Everyone can relate to beer fear, am I right?

Lily Allen and her husband, Sam Cooper, have a new reason to smile.
According to the United Kingdom’s Daily Mail, the couple welcomed their first child Friday. This comes after several pregnancy hardships for Allen, having lost a baby boy one year ago. She also suffered a miscarriage in January 2008, when she was with Brit musician Ed Simons.
Coronation Street actor Charlie Condou took to Twitter to confirm the news that the singer had had her baby, writing: “She has indeed, a little girl.” Many, many other British celebrities have congratulated the pasty couple via Twitter – however, her spokesperson has declined to confirm.
She isn’t the only celebrity in baby-bliss (that’s a thing, right?) this Thanksgiving weekend. Of course, Selena Gomez is now a big sister: “Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news! My mommy’s carrying my baby brother or sister
I’m the happiest girl in the world!” she tweeted yesterday.
Another British media mogul, CNN’s Piers Morgan, welcomed a daughter with wife Celia Walden and confirmed on his Twitter. “It’s true. I’ve become a dad for the 4th time, to a baby girl called Elise. She’s absurdly beautiful and utterly adorable.” Maybe this will effect his sensitivity.
Believe it or not Lily Allen is married. The crazy singer exchanged vows on Saturday in the English countryside with longtime beau Sam Cooper.
However, PopEater reports that Sam shared some vert special news at the reception. Allen is currently several months pregnant, after having a miscarriage last fall.
Good luck to the newlyweds!
Brit singer Lily Allen has released a clothing line called ‘Lucy in Disguise,’ which is a vintage inspired line that Lily designed with her sister Sarah Owen.
The duo debuted their line last week at department store Harvey Nichols, and their clothing will begin being sold on June 6, reports Perez Hilton.
The line, unlike many celeb clothing lines, seems to have a very good concept and look. It’s very her style, but it remains marketable to many other women. Some of the pieces are a little risky, like the red jumpsuit or ruffled black dress, but if that’s your kind of style, you can totally rock it.
Check out some images of the line below, and let us know what you think. Too hipster-cute, or just the right balance of fashion and fun?

Lily Allen is moving into the fashion business and partnering with her sister Sarah Owen. The new line will focus on vintage-inspired garments, according to a report this week in Women’s Wear Daily.
The line will be called Lucy in Disguise, which is also the name of the sisters’ vintage shop located in London’s Covent Garden district. The new collection was reportedly designed with a fictional clotheshorse, named Lucy, in mind.
“(Lucy’s) a time-traveling fashionista, who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe,” Allen explained at a press conference. “It’s a great opportunity to play with the character.”
You can see a slideshow of the line here. What are your thoughts? Is it anything you would buy?

Lily Allen and Courtney Love were recently involved in a Twitter war after getting in a verbal argument at last week’s (Feb. 24) Shockwaves NME Awards, reports NME.com.
The two women came to blows during the O2 Academy Brixton ceremony, and although Allen originally denied having a “bust-up” with Love, she did not shy away from Tweeting her thoughts.
“Courtney Love and I did NOT have a bust-up at the NME’s. There was an exchange of words, yes, she’s upset because she has got it into her head that I put a lock on some dresses for the Brit Awards 2010. She’s made no secret of this, and when I saw her at the NME’s she tried to talk to me and I told her to shut up (and) stop spreading stupid rumours about me,” Allen wrote in a string of Tweets. “And that’s pretty much it. I would never fight with her, as a rule I don’t pick on crazy old ladies.”
British actress Kate Winslet, known for her starring roles in such blockbusters as “Titanic,” ”Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Revolutionary Road,” and “The Reader,” has been voted as having the most desirable celebrity body, reports perezhilton.com.

During a stop in Hong Kong to promote her latest album “All I Ever Wanted,” first “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson shared her thoughts on YouTube sensation and “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant Susan Boyle.
“I think it’s awesome,” Clarkson told The Associated Press. “I’m bawling whenever I hear her sing.”
But not everyone is praising 48-year-old Boyle. “Smile” singer Lily Allen doesn’t see why there’s so much hype surrounding the Scottish singer. Allen wrote, “Susan Boyle is so overrated,” on her Twitter account over the weekend.
Lily Allen was charged $2,000 after she trashed her dressing room at Toronto’s Sound Academy following her Wednesday night show, reports chartattack.com.
“Had a massive ice cream fight dressing room based, cost me $2000,” Allen posted on her Twitter early Thursday morning. “End of tour, time to get mashed. Props to natalie portmans shaved head.”
Allen and her friends threw ice cream at each other after the gig, the final stop on her North American tour, according to British newspaper Evening Standard.
Lily Allen has won a major victory in her ongoing battle against the paparazzi.
Following an incident Thursday in which she was allegedly rear-ended by a photog in London, the British pop singer secured a court injunction banning further harassment from paparazzi photographers.
“My client has faced constant harassment over the last few months from the paparazzi,” Allen’s lawyer Mark Thomson said in a statement released on Friday. “As a result of this and various incidents of harassment that took place yesterday my client has now been forced to take legal action.
Lily Allen fans, rejoice: Her sophomore album is finally on its way.
The British singer wrote on her MySpace page last month that the album was finished but stuck in limbo following recent management changes at her record label, EMI.
In another blog post Monday, Allen announced that the tentatively-titled “Stuck On The Naughty Step” will be released Feb. 9, 2009.
“I know it’s a while away, but there will be bits and bobs flying around before then,” Allen wrote. “I’m shooting a video(for viral release) in the next couple of weeks , to keep you entertained .”
She also revealed she is working on “extra stuff” in the studio to support the record’s release.
“I am trying really hard to do this album with integrity and I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last minute industry bullshizz,” she says.
The new album is the follow-up to Allen’s 2006 debut, “Alright, Still.”
British pop star, Lily Allen got so drunk at a U.K. awards show on Wednesday that she had to be carried out by her bodyguard.
Allen attended U.K. Glamour magazines, Woman of the Year Awards where she received the Editor’s Special award.
British papers reported that Allen demanded cigarettes for photos, climbed barefoot onto the stage and was slurring her words when she received her award.
Allen confirmed the reports on her blog Thursday.
“Last time I wrote here, I was defending my honor and dignity, explaining my innocence and also outrage at the press for insinuating my behaviour was embarrassing. This time I’m putting my hands up, I got very drunk last night, too drunk…” Writes Allen on her blog, “Oh dear”.
Allen was reported to have been intoxicated earlier this year at another event during the Cannes Film Festival.
Lily Allen is in a “state of shock” after suffering a miscarriage.
The British singer and her boyfriend of four months, Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers, had just returned home from vacation when she lost the baby.
This would have been the first child for Allen, 22, and Simons, 37.
“The bad news has been really difficult for them to take and they are absolutely heartbroken,” a source tells The Sun, a British paper.
“Lily’s entire outlook on life changed after she found out she was pregnant. She was looking forward to being a mum and starting a family with Ed. She had turned her back on her party girl image and had turned over a new leaf.”
Allen’s publicist confirmed the news: “We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

The low-budget film begins shooting next spring.
Allen’s foray into the mainstream film world may not be a big stretch for her. Her mother is film producer Alison Owen, who was Oscar-nominated for Elizabeth, and her father is actor Keith Allen, who has appeared in movies like Shallow Grave and The Others.
In other news, Allen is scheduled to perform at Fashion Rocks at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Oct. 18. The event will be hosted by Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson.

British pop star LILY ALLEN has blamed the temptations of touring for luring her back to alcohol.
Earlier this month Allen claimed she was an alcoholic and voiced fears her addiction could kill her.
She tried to quit drinking in January but claims it’s an almost impossible task with so much booze surrounding her backstage at gigs.
She explains to New York’s Time Out magazine, “When you walk into your dressing room every night and there are 40 beers there, it’s difficult not to drink them all, you know?
“Like I said, I have a very addictive personality, and alcohol leads to other things.
“I don’t want to end up hanging over a toilet seat snorting coke when I’m 50.”

Lily Allen can’t walk a few feet in the UK without an astute member of the paparazzi capturing the moment; and her name is a fixture in the gossip columns every morning, whether it’s for something she said or did, alleged or true.
With the release of her debut album, “Alright, Still,” in North America, Allen is ready to conquer a new territory – where nobody knows her famous English parents. Judging by the crowds packing venues in the U.S. and Canada on her current spring tour, those paparazzi flashes may soon not be exclusive to the land of the Brits.
